  1. Non other than Chris Spielman called Cyril Richardson the second coming of Larry Allen, enough said!!
  2. I would seriously be happy with Louis Nix in round 1 and Cyril Richardson in round 2!!! Build both trenches up. Win up front, and good things happen, like W's!!!
  3. Who would entice a team to trade up to 8th? I'd suggest that one of the trio of OLT's would be coveted by some teams, namely San Diego and Miami. Never, and I mean NEVER trade with the Dolphins, so the Chargers become the team to lure in. If we drop from 8th to 11th in this draft, it makes it possible to reach for the top TE, Eifert or to fill the OLG position with either Warmack or Cooper. Grab the OLB with the second rounder the Chargers cough up, and select QB in round two also.
  4. My hope is defensive holes are plugged early and often! If the Bills zeroed in on OLB in round one, another ILB in round two and a CB in round three I'd be delighted. I truly am sick to death watching this team be run over by offenses every year for the passed 13 or so. Improve the offense through free agency, if it's still possible, and get some young, hungry players to fly to the ball and make plays!!
  5. I couldn't agree more with Bill Polian on that count! But, where to go for the starter? Draft.... most pundits agree that there isn't a QB worth a pick any earlier than between 20 and 32, so trade down? Select OLB and trade back into the late first as we did for J.P. Losman? Just suck it up and select one at #8? The only supposed starter that's available in trade is Matt Flynn. So do we offer Seattle a deal, say a 3rd/4th round pick this year and an escalator for next years' draft? Bad timing, IMO, for the Bills to be "stuck" holding the bag, needing the next franchise QB, going forward. I say load up on defense this year in the draft and let the young guns learn/mature something akin to Gilmore's rookie campaign. What say ye Bills fans??
  6. They technically missed on three last year alone in Fitzpatrick, Thigpen, and Young!
  7. Missed the point, the Bills did get kicked in the teeth by everyone INCLUDING Chad Pennington, but the QB was "able to make the throws" in Buffalo weather! Barkley will too, either as a Bills player or as a road team coming in....
  8. It seems to me that arm strength in Buffalo is a tad overblown! Chad Pennington, who most here probably said or thought "what a noodle arm" at one time or another, but he beat our brains in from time to time in Buffalo's weather. Matt Barkley can make the required throws in Buffalo, and if they take him, fans will be happy to have him, imo!!
  9. Napolean DID have a B-2 bomber, but no one knew how to fly it!! Pilots in those days were in short supply!!
  10. Technically, his tenure as President of the Buffalo Bills is still only hours old! I think that his words are encouraging to most fans, but let's see what the results are first. The proof better be the product on the field this time or we could be looking at 20,000 people in the stands reminisent of the mid 1980's real soon. Failure is NOT an option anymore, and Russ Brandon knows it, I think!?!?
  11. There is one VERY important factor at play here for Buddy Nix, and that is what he hopes to leave behind with this hire. Essentially, I think you can ease the worry of past misconceptions because he will know that the stakes are now higher than when Chan Gailey was hired. He does STILL have a chance to leave a legacy here with this offseason and generally, I think he'll be successful.
  12. I read the whole article and I am really at a loss for words to discribe my feelings! I will do what I am able to do, pray that his life becomes more full and less dangerous, but sadness fills my every thought about this story. I wonder if coaching is an avenue for him? Working with kids is a heroic step for him, IMO, so here's hoping that all will work out for Mr. Cathey. May God bless him richly in the future.
  13. Medical staff, trainers and strength and conditioning coaches are 5 star support in this thing, going forward. I don't want to hear of this injury or that injury ALL YEAR! If they stay healthy, then all the aforementioned lists are valid. All very good posts!!
  14. Road record and games within the division are simply the key for Buffalo, if they are to rise in the Eastern division. They must develop a winning mentality quickly (after all those years of losing) and establish themselves as the NEW Big Dog, not New England. It will be tough, and it'll be fun to watch, IMO.
  15. I'm wondering, in a legal sense, who bears the brunt of the guilt here? The bygone owners were quick to cut a player if his mental functions, amongst others aspects, were impeded, so do the courts sue a broad range of former owners, G.M.'s, coaches and Doctors/Athletic trainers for their involvement? Why does the NFL have sole responsibility here? I am curious, as this continues (lawsuits) how the NFL and former employees/employers will sheild themselves from the onslaught of acqusations. It becomes an interesting "game" within the fabric of the game. Count me as fascinated!
