Whoa !! Lol.. I was referring more to the media, not the Vegas odds and more about the lack of injury talk around Allen’s play not so much Burrow. Allen plays hurt and is still among the MVP leaders because he’s that dude. Burrow simply isn’t built like that.

Burrow gets a pass when he’s bad while playing injured and Allen not only doesn’t get credit for playing great last 2 seasons while injured, the media rarely acknowledges he’s playing hurt. Crazy stuff.

Yeah he’s not a starter in the league and he’s not starting in Buffalo, if they feel he’s sufficient for his back up role then who am I to disagree. I definitely don’t want to see him starting or playing for that matter.

Nobody needed the all22 to see Allen was off with throws and off with some decisions, yet with that being said when he needed 2 TDs late to win the game he came through. As bad as the offense was, if your defense can’t stop Mac Jones and a bunch of JAGS you probably need to worry more about the D when considering wins going forward.

This is much less about Knox who’s a good player and much more about Kincaid who is obviously a better player and has been since he stepped into the building. It was time to make Kincaid the primary TE target, this just makes the decision much easier for coaches and players who love Knox and are loyal to Knox.

Watch them play the game of football, like the previous 3 head to head matches where Allen was the best player on the field on every occasion. Unfortunately winning titles takes a whole lot more than a QB, the gap between Allen and Mahomes is too small to call it McDermott’s biggest coaching mistake. That only works if you assume the same outcome in two totally different situations, which of course is not logical.

They drafted a QB the following year who has the ability like Mahomes to win multiple championships, unfortunately for Allen McDermott wasn’t Andy Reid and he didn’t have the luxury of the greatest TE of all time and the fastest most lethal non QB weapon in the league. In Hill. Mahomes doesn’t have 2 titles and 2 MVPs under McDermott.

This switching the offense to a more “balanced” attack and wanting Josh Allen to be a pocket passer is to blame. Imagine be blessed a physical talent the likes of which the NFL has never seen at QB and be so pathetically scared of his possible injury that you you design your offense to limit his physical gifts. Its absurd and a fireable offense.

As much as I want McDermott and Dorsey fired after this game, too early to say with certainty but if this continues we may be talking about a partial rebuild

100%… I’m as optimistic as the ultra homers for the most part, but this needs big time change. what they’ve done to this offense is unforgivable.

McDermott is a coward who caved to outside pressure to become less reliant on a unicorn QB and worry more about Allen playing in 2030 than in his prime right now. I’m glad I’m not an owner, I’d need people to be put in a locked room for 48 hours before making any changes.

Paying Knox was a disaster, he’s so average and unfortunately you can’t take it back, but you can just accept it and move on and make Kincaid the primary pass catching TE and get back to Josh spreading it out and throwing to the WRs and running when he sees fit. 3 years of the media crying about the Bills lack of run game and Allen will get hurt has finally worn them down and this is a shell of the offense we once enjoyed.

I won’t argue about a guy with 2 titles and 2 MVPs being the best QB in the league, I think those achievements along with the eye test is unparalleled at this point. That being said, when I watch every QB play the game of football, I see Allen doing things on the field of play that no other QBs are capable of. It’s at the point now where I watch Mahomes play and it’s like watching a smaller less athletic version of Allen.

Got it, I think QB is obviously in a group of its own and much more predictive of outcome due to injury, maybe other position losses are more difficult to fully judge impact, IDK. The DVOA you cited is very interesting, thanks for your take.
