  1. Based on $ figures solely Fitzpatrick should be starting, with TE at 2nd, Baker 3rd and Hamdan 4th I believe. Still you make a good point; you don't give a backup $$ and then let him sit as 3rd. Yet during OTA 6 Hamdan and Fitzpatrick were sharing 2nd QB where logic would say it would have been Fitzpatrick his day. Buffalonews reports that Hamdan threw the mother of interceptions on an endzone play to Parish today (his 2nd int during OTA's with both being a play to Parrish), yet Chris Brown is reporting very positively on Hamdan's performance on OTA6. Can't blame it on Parrish either as TE threw 3 straight completions to Parrish on 2 minute drills. Ów well. Ill pop the question to CB for his friday fan q&a.
  2. In my defense... at least I was being consistent... Thx for catching my mistake.
  3. A little flaky???? The guy was either going to retire or did retire for the past 4 or 5 seasons...
  4. Bruised one ankle and broke his other ankle on the first play of the 2006 game against the Hamburg Seadevils, had his ankles taped in and returned on the field after just 2 downs; winning the game and posting a 109.5 QB rating to boost. Note this is a true fact.
  5. Nothing to do with the police, #@#$ the US law.
  6. Tiny????? Lol, he's huge. QB style wise he very much resembles Edwards (ok, ok, Edwards tries to mirror the Chroise). Origanily had some issues with the zip on his throw, couldn't scramble at all and had some reading issues. His main issue was lack of experience; he only switched to football in his senior year in highschool (was national for the baseball team) and was the backup behind Randle-El in college which led to him only playing in his senior year. He was send to NFL Europe to gain the experience needed (sorta to make up on his lost college time). The zip on his throw was fixed (he posted a QB rating of 113.4 in his last season in NFL Europe (NFL Europe record), 102 completions on 162 throws for a total of 1629 yards for 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions, 10 rushes for a total of 65 yards). And he greatly improved his scrambling ability. The reading problem was resolved with experience as well. The question that remains is how will he do on NFL level since that is yet faster again then the NFLE. Last year during preseason games he was moving the team well, allthough he had to checkdown quite a bit (no TDs as that RB we cut fumbled the ball 3 times).
  7. That's cool indeed, thanks for posting!
  8. What I've gathered from the OTA reports thus far is that all uneven days Hamdan starts as 2nd QB and even days Fitzgeraldpatrick. Could this be an indication of a legit battle for 2nd QB? Hamdan had the second unit on days 1, 2 and 5 where as Fitzgeraldpatrick had them on days 2 and 4 with both in attendance. Or would this simply be down to Hamdan knowing the system?
  9. The early OTA reports kinda worry me to the extend of being scared; I hope they come together fast. But yes I'm excited of starting a season without any JP drama.
  10. Can't be good, he's yet another NFL Europe product and according to Skooby NFL Europe lacked talent.
  11. IMHO he should do a stint in AFL (if they ever restart that is) or CFL that would really help his vision issues.
  12. I love the college atmosphere and totally love the passion for the game the players possess, however dislike the level of play. NFL wise I love the level of play but dislike the passion for dollars over passion for a team/the game that is common practice in the NFL (heh, it's just a job attitude) also fan support is totally lacking for some teams (I mean half to completly empty stadiums when a team is loosing that is just bs; you support your team to the end; yell your lungs out for them to turn it around). I liked NFL Europe best, for it combined the best of college with the best of the NFL, players that played like every game could be their last, level of play in between college and NFL, crazy fansupport. Sadly the competition model often meant it took a couple of games into the season for them to reach a solid level of play, another downside was almost completly new teams bar 2-4 players every year plus the season didnt last long enough.
  13. I honestly fail to understand why they voted down the NFL Europe system (both teams needed to have had equal possesion). It was extremly exciting to watch and a FG was often not enough to seal the deal. Plus it's an honest system.
  14. Dude... There was nothing wrong with the level of play in NFL Europe. I've seen NFL Europe games that were better then some NFL games (Dolphins@Giants in London was waaaaaaaaaaaay below anything I've seen live in NFL Europe (bar 2 games in 10 years time). The issue with NFL Europe play level wise was that you basicly had 6 completly new teams each year with a very short preperation time, generating some startup issues. Round about game 4~6 the play level stabalized (read teams started with a simplified playbook and were utilizing their full playbooks around game 4~6 and especially the top 4 teams delivered a good standard of football. NFL Europe did not fail on fan support, nor did it fail for it's level of competition or the players and staff it produced. It failed because it was the love baby of Goodells predecesor and as every manager does you axe something to make a statement. In this case it turned out to be NFL Europe. NFL Europe never was a commercial success due to lacking TV exposure in Europe and not enough sponsor money because American based companies were not allowed to sponsor (if an American company wanted to sponsor; they were send to sponsor something/someone in the NFL). Bottomline NFL Europe was costing the NFL a net $10 mil per year (less then Goodell his salary). Given the amount of quality players and coaching NFL Europe produced I'd say it's laughable. Just take Warner his 52 million dollar contract he earned with the Rams after coming cold out of Amsterdam. $10 million to thoroughly evaluate 440 players and FO/coaching staff and or reposition players? Also you could ask where that 10 million went.... A very very large portion of that (round about 5 mil went to the European commissioner which is absolutly nuts given the fact that the argument to close it down was that it was costing too much money; without the London and later Frankfurt office the leaugue would have run break even to a minor loss with some teams like the Frankfurt Galaxy running a profit).
  15. Hamdan was drafted because of his size and strong arm. Watch some tape on him (there should be plenty NFL Europe stuff available) and then dare to say again he isn't a gunslinger. Lol.
  16. Maybe the mayor could give him a puppy?
  17. The right amount of talent with the right amount of motivation for the right amount of buck is what's going on imho.
  18. Hi Tim, Are you going to be attending OTA's or do they have you locked in the basement of the ESPN HQ for a while? Chris Brown always does a nice job of covering the OTA's but it's always good fun to read someone else his perspective as well. Gives you as the reader a better sense of what's going on. *translation: I want more Hamdan news... * Cheers
  19. Ok I still think the whole key to the city thing should have come after the season but ow well. For those bashing the peepz @ the airport, this kinda stuff is what gives players that extra bit of incentive/fuel that translates into a winning spirit for the entire team. I for one applaud the peepz who spend almost all day waiting at the airport to give him that.
  20. Whooohooo the Chroise at second QB! Edit: real happy for him, all he ever asked for was a legit shot. Seems he got it. Now it's up to him to execute. Will be nice watching to see how the 2nd/3rd QB battle turns out.
  21. Euhrm you give someone the key of the city for actually achieving something, not when he's there for an one year visit and hasn't done anything for your city yet... So euhrm...
  22. Under the condition that she takes Beerball along...
