Great read. Sure Maybin was a gamble with an immediatte payoff in situational passrush and could be an awesome pick 3 years down the stretch once he aged to 23. Hopefully he'll be bound to a contract still then; hate to see us groom him and see him dissappear once matured.

Agreed, however watch the persconference after the draft and notice how they talk about Nelson being a new weapon along TO, Evans, Reed, Parrish and Steve Johnson. Not a word about Hardy. Made me lift my eyebrows, then again it was really early and I have only watched it once so I might have missed Hardy being called.

No offense but; the guy bags 6.6 mil ~ 7.3 mil over the next 2 seasons. Also it has been stated that Florence, Corner and Youboty are going to be competing over the Nickelback position. The injury argument is legit I'd say; however some of these dbs we just drafted aren't without injury issues either. In the end we'll see how it will all pan out during the pre-season but we'd better have an awesome secondary this year going into the season. All things considered, if all players work out, we had an awesome draft.

The thing is any position would have done but this is kinda like drafting a punter. We allready know he wont stick so it's pretty save assume the pick was wasted, we simply don't have the need so why even use a pick on that position. Also it's very much like Cox last year, who turned out to be pretty decent only to get signed to the Greenbay PS and later snatched by the Jags.

In all seriousness his speed can't be an issue the guy ran track at school as well; posting 10.75 @ 100 meters; might be a surprise but again what do you do if he works out... There are a lot of guys to be cut at DB this year.

Fox has been with us since 2007 and has been a PS player for both 2007 and 2008; was signed to the active roster late last season but didnt play I believe. Has had injury issues throughout his career. Is no longer PS eligible. Also he is a FS. You may have been confused with the signing of Drayton Florence.

Well they brought him in and drafted him so it obviously means they liked what they saw when they had him over. That aside again this is a playmaker and versatile player which seems to be this years draft theme. To me he does sound like a project player though and tbh 5th seems a bit early for that. Anyway definately ST ability here; but then again we're stacked with ST players.

Normally FB's are 7th rounders.

This might turn out as a great FS but I still think this is a luxury pick with so many other need positions. Everette Brown seemed like the obvious choice to me here.
