Every player that leaves SD is rumored to come here because of Buddy. Maybe we should start perusing the Pitt players available in the draft since Wanny coached there a while back.

I'd be thrilled with OT in Rd1 and Fleener in Rd2. Not a fan of Floyd. I think our need for a starting LT is the most pressing need right now. Once LT is addressed, I think adding a stud TE prospect like Fleener would be awesome. Although I think he will be long gone before we pick in Rd2.

would love to see them add an OLB I would also like to see them sign a LT. I would offer Bell and McNeil the same contract (1-2 years at a moderate salary) and give them untill draft day to accept. First come first served. If neither accepts, then take one in Rd1.

the lowest paid player in the NFL is overpaid. $300k or whatever the minimum salary is, that is more than the President of the US makes

Chan and Buddy need to win this year in order to get contract extensions. I've been saying it for monrths. They are going to do their best to make sure we make the playoffs. They are not going to be taking a QB to develop (at least not early in the draft). They are not going to be signing young, developing players. They want to win now. Add that to the new CBA requiring teams to spend a very high percentage of the cap and it is pretty obvious what was going to happen.

The Pats depth chart lists Anderson as the starting RDE on their Base 3-4 and the backup RDE in their base 4-3

Exactly. Levitre should be an anchor on our line for a decade. Byrd is a nice player but it much more easily replaceable.

If reports are correct and it would only take a 5th round pick or less, it might actually be worth the circus to bring him in. Just some reasons in my head: 1) I'm still not 100% sold on Fitz being the answer at #1 qb. 2) I'm definitely not convinced that Thigpen or Smith can adequately serve as #2. 3) We have no young QB on the roster to develop. 4) The cost would be minimal 5) Tebow appears to be a very high character individual who would most likely come in, work hard and not personally cause a distraction* 6) Tebow's skill sets seems to fit well with some of the aspects of Gailey's offense and he could potentially be a very useful weapon for us *the concern are the Tebowmaniac who would never accept Tebow being #2 at best and would always be clamoring for him to start. I really am starting to think that it might be worth the risk to bring him in and build some offensive plays around him. Let Brad Smith focus on WR/Emergency QB full time.

That is the problem. I would love to see Tebow here to backup Fitz for a year or two. Chan could utilize him on short yardage and in WC. Give him couple years of tutoring to see if Chan can develop him into a full time starter. But the Tebowmania factor would not allow that to happen. It would be an immediate QB controversy with all the Tebowmaniacs demanding that he be the starter. I think our team is on the verge of the playoffs and does not need the distratcion/copntroversy/spectacle. I think Tebow ends up in Miami

I would not want to drop that far. At 10, we have a shot at an elite talent. I think we should stay where we are and address a need for a starter at LT or OLB/DE

I know nothing about Tannehill so I cannot really comment on whether it would be good to draft him. I would not be at all surprised if he we our pick at 10. I would be pretty surprised if we traded up to get him. I fulley expect the team to stick with Fitz for this year and not take a QB high in the draft. I think a LT is the most likely scenario, but if they like Tannehill it would be fun to get him and let him battle to Fitz. But then I would really want them to address the LT position in FA. Even if we re-sign Bell and get another OT in rd 2 or 3. This draft should be very interesting.

If they are going to use the money to improve the onfield product and not just the bottom line I am fine with it. Especially since the Toronto people and the Bills are saying that they have no intention or increasing the number of games north of the border

I'd be fine with bringing him back for a low price deal. He proved to be a weapon when healthy. Can we do an incentive based contract for him with escalators in the deal for games played? Not sure that is OK in the CBA.

Merriman will not be released. I think Chan has already said that. You save about $1m if you release him. You could not replace him for that with anyone better.

I'd be thrilled if he is able to be a situational pass rusher for us. Even if he can make it through 10-15 plays a game and provide 4-6 sacks and some pressures, that would be good enough for me. His energy and excitement are great. I am excited as hell to see this defense.
