  1. They seem to love that kid...
  2. I think one of the many things that absolutely destroyed Bray was the perception among scouts that he's not a QB who loves football...One of the Bills scouts commented before the Draft that Bray needed to spend more of his off-the-field time concentrating on football...When that kind of opinion is out there about a QB who also comes in with leadership questions...That's the kiss of death...
  3. Physically he's a David Nelson-type...Basically same height/weight...A little slower than Nelson though...His Combine time was 4.67...I did read he timed a better 4.57 at his Pro Day...
  4. Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread or not...But Stanford HC David Shaw raved about the Bills Draft, and specifically Alonso (he also said he was a huge Robert Woods Fan) on the NFL Network's coverage today...He basically said Alonso does it all, and he's all over the field making plays constantly...He said Alonso was once of his favorite players in the Conference...This was brought up when they went around the table asking everyone who, up to that point (I think it was late in the 6th), had the best Draft...And Shaw's team was the Bills... I'm a huge David Shaw fan...So that made his comments twice as nice for me...
  5. I like the value of this pick...You get a TE with legit NFL speed and some nice raw tools...Coach him up and he could provide yet another mismatch speed-wise on an Offensive Team that is going to have an awful lot of speed at the skill positions all over the field...Yet another pick that...if you believe in these Coaches...looks pretty good on paper...
  6. Wow! Not Rian Lindell's favorite pick this year...that much is certain...
  7. For sure...Like I said before he's pretty much a prototype height/weight/speed guy...In Meeks case the non-invite was even more devastating because the film was not great...
  8. Well...The Bills Scout just touched on it a bit...He was asked to play as the last line of Defense due to his athleticism compared to the other Clemson safeties (the others were too slow) which took him out of showing a lot of his abilities...I don't think he's a center-field-type of Safety like Byrd at all...I don't think he's instinctive enough for that role...And that's pretty much what Clemson needed him to do because they had no one else to do it...I do think Pettine sees a role for him that is very different from what he did at Clemson...
  9. I would not be so sure about that...And I'm not a huge fan of the way Meeks played in College at times...I was able to see him a lot and knew of him even when he was in HS...The thing is, Meeks has excellent size/speed, and there were some extenuating circumstances that effected his play at Clemson...And he should be a real good Special Teams contributor ..If you're looking at pure athletic numbers...He's just about the prototype Safety...And those guys don't usually last too long...I think based on that, the 5th Round is fine for him...I would have preferred the Bills Draft a pure CB here...But I understand the pick...Not crazy about it, but I get it...
  10. I know of Meeks...He's from Rock Hill SC...Home of Jeff Burris and Stephon Gilmore...I lived 20 mins away in Charlotte for 20 years... Unfortunately, knowing of him makes this pick an even bigger mystery to me...He may factor well in ST's coverage...He's a very good athlete with good size...May be a player that Pettine feels can develop well with good coaching...He's going to need a lot of work though...Just not an instinctive College Safety at all...But tons of raw tools to work with...
  11. I'm kinda shocked he's still around...
  12. I do as well...And the way it's looking, barring a run on them, there should be some nice options available #143...
  13. No one likes psychos...Boy have I learned that lesson first hand!!!...
  14. Well...It seems that Duke's off-the-field issues were very early on in his College career...Polian commented that the Nevada Coaches said he was a modal citizen by his Sr year and that they could not be more proud about the way he turned his life around...
  15. All great points Max, and due to that QB situation at Maryland, I figured Furstenburg would still be available in the 5th-6th area...I just think his total package and receiving skills project extremely well to a Coaching Staff that is creative enough to know how to use him properly...I think he's the major sleeper of this remaining group...
  16. I think Furstenburg is a major sleeper and the type of player Marrone and Hackett should really like...
  17. I don't disagree...But I do think there are some glaring needs that still remain, especially at depth in the secondary...So it's a tough call...Players like Thomas and Poyer were super productive in College and could push for PT early...So...it's an interesting question...If the Bills Doctors are OK with them, I don't see how you cannot consider Jones or Lattimore though...
  18. In the 4th...If we're still looking need...I'd like to see the Bills grab one of these players... At SS Phillip Thomas... At CB B.W. Webb or Jordan Poyer... At TE Dion Sims intrigues me... At O-Line I really like Barrett Jones, but it's unclear how much he's going to help in 2013 due to the injury concerns...So I think even the 4th may be too early for him...I really, really like C Brian Schwenke...
  19. Hope definitely springs eternal...every Spring...for Bills fans...
  20. I do think this pick is very similar to the TJ Graham pick...I think Buddy feels that when you have an athlete like this at WR the 3rd Round is a good place to gamble...And I don't necessarily disagree...I do wonder if WR's like Graham and TJ would last longer in the Draft...But like I've said before about TJ, had Fitz been able to hit him the times he definitely got wide open deep, I think we as Bills fans would have a different opinion of him now...As it was, due to Fitz and Gailey, Graham got the bulk of his opportunities on screens and quick hits, which I don't think is really his game... I'm really excited to see what Marrone and Hackett do with this talent on Offense now...Because raw or not...The Bills have serious talent on offense now, and speed to burn...
  21. No question about it...Need addressed for sure...
  22. This kid is faster than CJ and TJ...And those two are pretty darn fast...
  23. I thought Glennon would go next...
