  1. Plus I have a feeling Stevie is on a little bit of a mission to prove he's a hard working guy...His new thing on Twitter is "Let's work." May not seem like much...But I think it's pretty clear he took the criticism personally...
  2. I really like Pough's chances...Especially after the Shep trade if the Bills stand pat at ILB...I know Pough did not run well (his shuttle and 3-cone times did not help much either) at the Combine and that killed his Draft stock...But you watch him on tape, and you look at the production, it's surprising he ran that slow...He did have a sprained ankle during the 2012 season...I wonder if something was up during the workouts...Not that I think the kid has blazing speed or anything like that...He just does not look like a 4.8-4.9 guy on the field at all from the limited amount I've seen...I think he's got a chance to fill a depth spot and be a solid ST's player...
  3. I'm not one to bash Kiper by any means...He's the main reason I got so involved in following the NFL Draft some 20 plus years ago... But that one quote...well...That's still got to sting a bit... Oh wow!!! I missed that somehow, and it was hilarious!!! What a great job Caliendo did!!! He's got him down pretty good!!!
  4. I'm about 99.9% positive that the plan right now would see Alonso and Bradham starting inside...Things could certainly change...But I think that's the plan going forward...
  5. Well...Point taken... But Pettine did get a hell of a lot more out of Maybin then the Bills ever did...Which admittedly is not saying much...If anything...
  6. Agreed... It's going to be Alonso and Bradham in the middle...And the rest will fight it out for the depth spots...
  7. I know right?...
  8. Semi-productive? Kelvin Sheppard?... This is a scheme trade...Sheppard was going to sit behind Alonso and Brandham anyway...The Bills pick up a former #1 Draft pick that fits the 3-4 much better...He'll give them depth at OLB, and insurance in case Mark Anderson continues to get hurt...If Pettine could get Aaron Maybin to actually look like an NFL player, I can't wait to see what he can do with a guy like Hughes who actually has some ability... Getting upset about this deal is laughable...Obviously Pettine did not like Shep for his Defense...I do think this opens the door a bit for UDFA Keith Pough to grab a depth spot at ILB...
  9. Wow!!! Big surprise...
  10. Goodness he crushed that ball!!! Thanks for the input Ram...
  11. 3 is a magic number after all...
  12. Charles Davis and David Shaw also had really nice things to say about the Bills Draft...Especially Shaw who raved about Woods and Alonso...
  13. I don't expect any better than 8-8... I look at Seattle as the model, and they were 7-9 in Carroll's first two years (though they did make the Playoffs in 2010 at 7-9)... Anyway...I do think we will start seeing improvements on both sides of the ball...I think this Roster has a absolute ton of potential now...There are still holes, and there will be growing pains no question...But I just have a feeling that Marrone, Hackett, and Pettine are going to be light-years ahead of what we have seen here over the past decade plus...
  14. Where did you here that? Everything I heard in the interviews indicated they plan on letting the QB's battle it out...Granted EJ has the bigger learning curve...But he also brings things that Kolb simply can't... This is from tonight's Presser... Q: When you go to camp will you have a penciled in starter or a complete open competition? DM: I said this before, I have run into this problem before when you come into this point of phase two of a mandatory mini-camp. We are simulating football, but we are really not playing it physically. I have always had a difficult problem with that. Moving people around and making sure from a standpoint of when I am thinking about contact, when I am thinking about obviously with the quarterback when you are actually seeing people coming at you that can actually hit you. Right now my plans the answer would be, ‘Hey when we feel comfortable with one we will go ahead and name one.’ I am probably going to have to answer a lot of questions for a long period of time before I am ready to sit down and go through a lot of practices, before I am able to name a starter.
  15. If you asked me Thursday night I would have said Kolb would still be the week #1 starter at QB for the Bills...But now I'm not so sure...I had no idea the Bills would be able to assemble the kind of talent on Offense they did the last two days...Now I think that what Manuel brings to the field will add a dimension that Kolb can't bring, which in turn makes everyone of these players on Offense more dangerous...It's all up to what Marrone and Hackett can do with Manuel's raw tools...But I think this contest is even going into Camp...Should be fun to watch...
  16. The thing that excites me most about the potential of this WR group is the fact that it's only going to help open things up for CJ and Freddie!!! Our RB's are clearly the strength of this Offense in that they are proven NFL Top 100 talents...The amount of potential this Offense is going to have is scary...If these young WR's can do their parts and force Defenses into more Nickle and Dime, CJ and Freddie are going to be the biggest beneficiaries IMHO...
  17. OK I know it's Bleacherreport...but they do have a real nice write up page on Pough if you Google it...Can't post the link here though... Anyway...Hard not to like this kids potential...He's going to press for a roster spot...His Combine 40-time hurt him for sure...But he certainly does not look slow on tape...
  18. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/2044623/vernon-kearney Interesting...
  19. The ability to come down with the contested ball jumps off the screen with this kid...He looks elite in that area...
  20. Ryan Turnley, C, Pittsburgh http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/college_player_scouting_report.html&player=37967
  21. The Bills are absolutely not messing around at WR!!! Mike Mayock said the #1 thing to do when you get a young QB is to go out and get them talent at the receiver positions...Well...I think the Bills were listening...
  22. Wow!!! I'm kinda shocked...The battle for this Roster at WR is going to be fierce!!!
