I agree with you about Cleveland this weekend. They played a feisty game against the Bengals and should have won but for their rookie kicker. I think the Ravens defense is overrated. If we were not so conservative with our play calling in the first half after the first drive we would have been a lot closer late in the game. When they let Josh play like an all timer, the Ravens could not stop him. That needs to be our offensive MO every week. Conversely, what in the name of good defense is wrong with the Bills run defense every single year? Is it the scheme, the players, or a brutal combo of the two? This game was certainly not an outlier of our run defense the past few years. It has happened numerous times. I certainly hope that Jordan Hancock is active this week. Give the kid some opportunities. He at least looked to have some athleticism in the preseason. I can't believe he would not be an upgrade from what we saw out of Rapp and Bishop. And do NOT go back to Tre White. Keep Strong starting. And then when Hairston is ready go with a combo of those two opposite Benford. No way Tre can keep up with the speed of today's NFL offenses. Just not happening.

The TD catch off of the Knox deflection took a lot of focus and awareness. Pretty nice catch. I see a big season from him this year. A game like Sunday's has to give him a lot of confidence. Same with Kincaid. He had some jump out there as well. And lets not forget Knox. I have been somewhat hard on him at times. But I thought he was a presence for us all game long.

Yes he certainly was. He had those pads on his forearms I seem to recall. Like a Junior Gene Upshaw who always had the casts. I believe Smith got a bad staff infection after his knee surgery.

Your avatar is a riot. Hamilton is a freak on the back end. And McDuffie is pretty dam good also. Elam never panned out for us. He got beat on the long pass against the Eagles. But I did not follow him the entire game. I hope for his sake he becomes a solid NFL player. He doesn't seem to have a lot of twitchiness. You watch him, and then you watch Duron Bland or Christian Benford, and they just look a whole lot more athletic. I see Elam's high end as a poor man's Leodis McKelvin. But I liked McKelvin's game more than a lot of peoples.

I thought about just that when you wrote your Leonard Smith post after the game. LOL

We actually have some good receivers on our roster this year. And everyone talks about Lamar Lamar Lamar, but Josh is a beast to tackle when he gets out of the pocket. And is great at throwing downfield on the run. The Ravens defense was not great last night. #14 Hamilton is special. But the Bills moved the ball most of the game, especially in the 4th qtr. The Ravens are good, but we are not anointing them champions yet. Harbaugh is not a great coach. I think he showed that last night.

Our play calling on the second and third drives were terrible. On the second drive, Cook gets almost 8 yards on 1st down, and then 2 straight runs for no gain. The third drive 3 quick out passes that got a total of 6 yards. And on defense, we may have had the worst safety combination starting in the NFL last night. They can't tackle, they take terrible angles when they try and tackle, and they are out of position a lot. And neither is particularly fast. But Ed Oliver certainly came to play. And Strong at CB showed some potential, so that's good. Lets just hope that Joe Brady and his conservative play calling is put on the shelf for the rest of the season. You see what Josh Allen can do when given the keys to the sports car instead of an old station wagon. The boy can put up 350 plus yards every game.

Jared Goff has always been good. He was the first pick in the 2016 draft. He was good with the Rams, before McVay threw him under the bus. He wasn't made by Ben Johnson. The guy has always had talent. He just can't move much. Sure Ben Johnson has been a very good OC (remains to be seen how good of a HC he will be) but I think that's a false narrative that Ben Johnson made Jared Goff into a good QB.

His kicks are like a screw ball pitcher. He is the Fernando Valenzuela of the Bills. Too bad he doesn't dominate like Fernando once did. But Prater is solid.

Its never good especially the serious injuries. But that must be a real serious Triceps injury for the Jets' guard to miss the entire year.

He did not look great in the preseason, I agree. At least he has a lot more size than little Codrington to play CB.

Well you must hate watching football then. Because there are injuries in almost every practice and every quarter of every game. I was watching the Tennessee-Syracuse game on Saturday. And in the span of less that a quarter there were at least 5 guys injured. Its a violent game. And it seems like there are always lower extremity injuries. And of course guys getting the wind knocked out of them and concussions of varying severity. You would think that with all the modern training that injuries would be less, but it just doesn't seem to happen that way.

Its Ingram and Strong's chance to shine. Strong played DB at Va Tech and was supposedly pretty dam good. I know its a step up playing at the NFL level. But its still football. Cover the WR, and make a play on the ball when its thrown to the man you are covering or in your zone. I think the Bills' scheme is just very difficult for rookies on defense to understand. And that just seems the opposite of how things should be. Make it easy for the rookies so they can get up to speed as quickly as possible, and let their athletic abilities take over.

Good offensive coaches can take Parsons out of the game. He is one player. And many NFL offensive tackles are pretty dam good. Then you get a back to chip him, and he is nothing special. it’s still a team game on both sides of the ball. Parsons is not LT Ronnie Lott Ray Lewis Reggie White or Bruce. The media hype is constant in today’s game 24/7/365. It deify’s good players into god’s. So we all think he is so amazing. He gets 12 sacks per year and gets bullied against the run. Enough said.

Understand your thought process. I don’t like the way defense is played in general these days. Depending on one great edge rusher seems a bit too hit or miss. Parsons had 12 sacks per year. That’s nice, but not monumental. In 1995 when the Bills had Bryce Paup he had 15 sacks and Bruce had more than that. Bringing constant pressure from your defense like 1985 Bears is never done anymore. It’s 3rd and 20 and maybe teams rush 4 and set up a picket fence at the sticks. Stupid IMO. Rush 6 and make the QB be perfect. You don’t need guys making $47 mill to do that. Something about Parsons doesn’t sit well w me. Demarcus Lawrence didn’t like him much either, and he was the leader of their D for years. Don’t want those me guys on my team.

No it’s not. If I run a business, and we are not making a profit. And one of my employees who thinks they are an amazing asset wants a lot more money to work for me. But we are not getting it done w them. And they are a bit too much about themselves instead of the team. Why would I want to pay that same person more money? Rather I am letting him go to greener pastures, and getting a nice return in some new assets to try and turn things around make a better more profitable company. i am not paying any defensive player that kind of money, especially one who is marginal against the run. And especially in an era when football is an offensive game. I guarantee you the Lions will scheme him right out, to where he is not a factor. And the Vikings will likely do the same. Kenny Clark was a big part of the Packers defense. I wish the Bills had him.

The Cowboys defense sucked with Micah Parsons. No way you pay that guy $47 million per. They get 2 first rounders and a dam good DT. And Parsons gets to freeze his ass off in the frozen tundra. Good for Jerry..

He missed a 25 yarder against the Lions last year, that was the shortest miss of the NFL season. He missed a 24 yarder against Tampa. And he has missed plenty of extra Points. Sure he made a big time 61 yarder against the Dolphins last year. But the guy is just not overly consistent on everything inside of 50. And now he has some pelvic issue. Ugh. Maybe its time for a change. Our special teams is always teetering. Too bad Bruce De Haven passed away.

The Bills coaching has been marginal in the big playoff games w Josh and McDermott. We all know the 13 seconds game. The play calling last year against Baltimore was very conservative in the second half. Brady packed it in, and it almost cost us the game. The play calling in short yardage against KC last year in the AFCCG was predictable redundant and easy to stop. That was the biggest reason for the loss IMO. By that point in the season after playing 18 or 19 games, the opposition knows your tendencies on both sides of the ball. You have to change some things up, because your opponent is always going to be just as good as you. And you are not going to dominate another well coached team deep in the playoffs. It just doesn't happen very often. And the Bills just do not change anything about their scheme in big playoff games. And give the opposition different looks that they were not expecting. That little edge is usually the difference. McDermott is good at culture and keeping players happy and focused. He is nothing special as a tactician. That is the difference between an Andy Reid and Sean McVay coached team, and a Sean McDermott coached team.

Glad they dropped Hardy. He is small and slow. Not an NFL prospect. And didn't he go to Penn State? Boo on that. Overall a strong roster. And a strong PS. Can't wait for the season.

Our receivers like our DB’s are always banged up over the 17 game season. All 6 receivers will get opportunities. It’s a real solid group this year. At least on paper it is.

Nothing. The best thing he has going is his personality. He was a celeb on Hard Knocks. The problem was his hands are brutal. He was dropping passes left and right on last night's episode. And that was pretty much it. He knew it too. Nice guy. At least he can keep riding his scooter. I hope its Hardy. No way he belongs on an NFL field the way he played in the preseason. Good to get some new blood in from other teams. Lets go Jalen Kimber.

Its a long off season. Everyone is salty the way last season and the previous 5 before that have ended. I know I have felt that way all offseason. (Except when we drafted Hairston, and watching Hard Knocks.) I am excited for the season to finally almost be here. As for Carter, does he even dress unless there is an injury at DT before Ogunjobi comes back? I think he is certainly behind Daquan Oliver Sanders and Walker. But I could see Daquan being injured by week 2, and we can go with Big Jordan or Carter. I hope the kid steps up when he gets his chance.
