  1. Oh boy, my son text me a while ago and said he would give up 2 first round picks. I said no way. And the biggest reason is because I am not sure the coaching staff we have knows how to incorporate a high level WR into the offense. That being said I would give up next years 1st for Garrett Wilson. I just looked at this years stats for Wilson and they are a little above pedestrian. But he has Justin Fields throwing him the ball. So there you go KJ. Give the Jets our first next year, and lets go. I think Beane is pretty bad with his draft picks. And I would not be opposed to trading most if not all of our picks for next year to bring in help at WR, DL and LB or DB to give us a great chance to win the bowl.
  2. I agree with most of your posts. But you seem off on Kincaid and his ability. The guy is our best receiving weapon and should be getting 12+ targets per game. He is a talented player. My god the Cowboys throw all game to Jake Ferguson, and he is nowhere near the game changer that Kincaid is. Running was fine against the Chiefs at home mid season. But to get to the Super Bowl we are going to need to pass the ball down the field. We will be too easy to defend come the playoffs if we have no downfield passing game.
  3. Agree Taron sucks at this point. If we can get rid of him after this year, it would be great. He has gotten the most out of his game. Guy is just too small to keep playing at a high level in the NFL. And Cam Lewis looked good against the Chiefs. We don't have to have the smallest defense in the NFL to be successful. Someone may want to let McDermott know that.
  4. Wasn't the guy a 5th round pick? How much of a bonus did he get? And I doubt his contract is guaranteed. That's not a large amount of money in the grand scheme of how much it costs to live in this era. The money isn't nearly as big as having your dream cut short almost before it started. That sucks.
  5. That's awful. Sucks for him and it sucks for us. This sounds like it could be Derrick Burroughs all over again. Wasn't the injury in practice too? The body can only take so much punishment playing football between practices and games over a lifetime.
  6. That's what message boards are for. Critiquing your team. And celebrating the win. Sure it was an awesome victory. Had me standing screaming and pacing. But the decision making by McDermott in crunch time has always been less than stellar. My problem is all the defensive TO's we seem to take because guys don't know where to line up on defense a lot of the time pre snap. And I blame McDermott because I think his defense is too complicated for a lot of the younger guys to grasp. Make it easy, and let them run and hit. As for kicking the FG, I had no problem with that. Prater almost made it. What I did not like at the end was the play calling on offense. Sending Cook 3 times into the line was not going to work. We have Josh. Let him run at least one bootleg. Great chance of getting the 1st down. Or let him throw a short pass and get the 1st down. We never throw short over the middle anymore. Its always that stupid behind the LOS out pass to Shakir. Sure an incompletion stops the clock without KC burning a TO. But Josh was 23 for 26 at that point. Need more confidence in the passing game.
  7. I said that to my son when he text me the news. Good move for the Jets. But the Colts are overrated too. They came down to earth this Sunday. Look at their wins. Only solid ones are the 1 pointer over the Broncos, and the win over the Chargers in LA. I like our chances against them in the playoffs with Daniel Jones Quarterbacking them.
  8. You want to rely on Landon Jackson on a team that has Super Bowl aspirations? That’s not smart. Amd we also need a big time LB too. Bernard and Milano look awful at this point. Need Thompson back. The rest are eminently replaceable.
  9. Von did nothing on Monday night against the Chiefs. Don't know if he was even on the field. Barely heard his name mentioned. That being said, the Commanders defense in the second half was missing in action. The oddest thing was seeing Jayden Daniels on the sidelines bundled up in a hoodie late in the game giggling and chuckling with his team getting it handed to them by 3 TD's. He looked like a middle schooler. The Commanders look like a bunch of junk the past two weeks. Back to mediocrity and below for them. But hey it was all Dan Snyder's fault.. At least that's what everyone in Washington likes to say.
  10. You really think Beane is likely to draft a better player then Jacobi Myers with next year's 2nd and 3rd round picks? Very doubtful. Look at Landon Jackson. LOL And TJ Sanders may be something next year. But that is still up in the air. And look at Keon. Double LOL. Myers is a solid WR. Something we don't have right now other than Shakir. He is certainly worth a 3rd round pick. And they can throw in Taron Johnson too.
  11. Noone hated Gabe. He wasn't an unlikeable guy. He is a decent NFL player. Nothing spectacular. But could be solid running certain routes. Was excellent toe tapping on the deeper balls by the sidelines. Not the guy who is going to catch a slant and take it to the house, because he is far from twitchy. But can get downfield and seems to have good body control. Doesn't have great hands. But is serviceable if used correctly. The only time I was pissed w him was two years ago when he seemed to run the wrong route late in the Philly game when he would have been wide open in the endzone if he had broken the other way. For a 4th round pick, he has been solid. He understands being an NFL WR. I don't think Coleman has any of those innate qualities.
  12. Shell of Allen?? Thats pretty harsh. Some of you on here talk about Josh like he is Nate Peterman 2.0. He hasn’t been great. But he certainly hasn’t sucked. If anything blame Brady for his conservative game plans and unwillingness to send guys deep. And Beane for putting together a joke of a receiving group that has very limited ability. But this team will be ready come Sunday. These are grown men who are a proud bunch. I think we see a revved up group on both sides of the ball. And have a solid chance to win.
  13. My goodness, winning 40-9 on the road in the NFL against a supposed up and coming team got me jacked up. It makes this week a whole lot better than how I felt after the dreadful loss to the Falcons-a game I was at. Sure our team has some issues. But what team doesn't??!! Our defense looked a whole hell of a lot better. So that's a positive. And James Cook had a tremendous game. Its a week to week league. Need to be better than the team you are playing each week. We have our work cut out for us this coming week, that's for sure. But I just hope that the coaches put in a really good game plan (that means you over rated OC Joe Brady) to give us a chance. That's what good teams do. Its going to be exciting. I know that. Just looking at the Super Bowl as November approaches, and the season loses its fun. We will have a shot come the end of the season. Josh will get back on track, and we will get a good rhythm going forward. So I am excited every Sunday because its the NFL baby. Its football. Between watching the Bills. Watching the other big games, and gambling all weekend on college and pro football, how you can you not be pumped..
  14. That’s pretty harsh about Shavers. Not saying he is a world beater by any means. But if he is dressing for games, let’s send him deep off of play action and see what he can do. Doesn’t he have some straight line speed?
  15. Cooper had a nice game against Tennessee And caught a long pass down the sideline against the Chiefs in the regular season game at the Ralph. Other than that he sucked. And looked very content standing on the sidelines. The guy looked like he was barely trying when he was on the field. Beane has done an absolute ***** job fortifying the WR position for us the past 2 years. In an offensive passing league w having a QB like Josh Allen he should be fired if he can’t find better. Coleman plays like a marginal undrafted free agent. What in the name of scouting college players for the NFL draft did the Bills see in this guy to draft him early in the 2nd round? Wow!! I think Keon has actually regressed since last year. Put Shavers in his spot this week and let him run the routes they would have Keon running. And see how he does. It can’t be any worse.
  16. I have been saying this since the first preseason game watching Hancock. The kid looks like an NFL safety. He can move, read plays and tackle. He started for the Buckeyes last year on their Nat Championship team. That means you have talent!! Of course talent has to be developed at the pro level. But you have a lot to work with there. Just like Dione Walker. The kid just needs to play. Him and Bishop will hopefully turn into a strong duo on the back end. With Poyer doing some mentoring. I like that group. And with Hairston getting some reps at CB, things are looking up in the secondary. Not sure what is going on with Benford. But he looks a step slow this year. Not horrible. Just not playing nearly as aggressive as the past few years. But the real problem and liability in the secondary is Taron Johnson. He just can not keep up anymore. Teams are going to target him going forward. Thats what defensive coaches do. They target the weak link. I think our only other option at nickel would be Cam Lewis. Although I don't know if he is any better in coverage. He is a pretty solid tackler though. Anyone else has some thoughts on that? Do we have someone on the PS that can play nickel? And then there is McDermott staying too loyal to "his guys". But a great defensive effort overall yesterday. Great to see.
  17. The throw to his left to Elijah Moore about 15 yards down field, late in the 1st half I think, who was wide open he missed brutally. That was rough. I could have put that in there better. Joah doesn’t play in a QB friendly offense. We don’t come out trying to throw all over the field. Other than Shakir, who we don’t use properly, (he is notch or two below Jamar Chase, but dam good ) we have noone at WR who even worries a little (let alone scares) defenses. That being said, Josh needs to be a little more aggressive w his throws. He doesn’t just let it rip like he used to. He needs a little Jameis Winston/Fitzie in him. It’s called ego. He needs to tell the coaches this is what I want to do. He is better than McDermott. He needs to start acting that way a bit more.
  18. He would fit right in with our current WR’s and most of our defense. And I saw Kincaid was limited in practice yesterday. Has an injured Oblique. Isn’t that on your side? How the hell do you injure such a thing?
  19. All your talk about the defense is great. But this is still an offensive league. And you need some sort of consistent vertical passing game in this era to be successful. So we had better figure out how to get some big plays in the passing game. Otherwise every game we play from here on in this season will be a grind.
  20. You are in Seattle. You get a first hand look at an aggressive defense in the Seahawks. Love the way they play. it’s interesting both McDonald and McDermott are defensive side of the ball coaches. One plays aggressive. One plays passive. Ugh!
  21. Agree about the roster Hondo. I do think James Cook is close to elite at RB. But after him there is quite the fall off. And that’s not good. I think if Kincaid can stay healthy and we scheme him for more targets he can become a very good TE. Elite is for a special few.
  22. That’s a sobering response. But you are correct. Not enough bang for our buck. Hopefully they can lower Knox and Taron’s salaries for next season, or preferably cut them, especially TJ. He was good when he was healthy. But he is small and lost some quickness. Can Samuel even get on the field? He has some talent. But is always injured. Bernard is too small also. Makes some plays. And then always gets injured. Wash Rinse Repeat. Rousseau has the look of a stud, but rarely plays like it. I would rather have a George Karloftis who makes more plays consistently in KC’s scheme. And Benford looks like he is in the twilight zone likes he is smoking too much weed. Just seems a step or two slower than last year. We really need a jolt. Hopefully Hoecht Ogunjobi and Hairston can bring that. I also think Hancock is a missing piece. But I doubt the coaches agree because they are less than astute at evaluating talent. I sometimes wonder how smart McDermott actually is. I don’t think he could hold McVay’s I Pad of plays.
  23. I understand all that. But character and understanding the system mean nothing if you can’t play the game well any longer. Starter back up or 3rd stringer. There has to be a certain level of athleticism to be able to compete at the pro level in any sport. And we have too many guys on this roster who are lacking that. And that is a fundamental flaw in the McBeane regime. And a big part of why we have come up short every year even though we have a special gem at QB
  24. I agree. What has McDermott done to help Josh's career? Do the two ever even talk? McDermott is not an offensive guru. He doesn't call offensive plays. And I doubt gives instruction to Josh. I think with a fresh reset of a new coaching staff and GM, Josh and the entire team will rejuvenated, and play with much more reckless abandon. I personally think McDermott has sucked the life and the joy out of the organization.
  25. Are Wilkerson and Cain still on the practice squad? Obviously they are not studs. But both are better than Keon right now. Sit the boys ass down for a few games, so he can learn his craft. He looks like he has no idea what he is doing on the field. That the Bills drafted a guy as raw as Keon with so little separation skills early in the second round, when WR was such an important need at the time is mind numbing. Who is our WR's coach anyways? What is that guy even doing?
