Disagree about Aiyuk vs Diggs of 4 years ago. That being said, this offense is going to be excellent. I love the weapons we have. And I don’t want guys who are bitching about their contracts. It’s a team game. Josh Allen gets that more than anyone. These guys all think they should get big money. And then the team has no money left to pay other good players and your team is stuck winning 6-9 games every year. I want guys who want to win first and foremost. That should matter still.

How the hell is Shavers better than anyone? He hasn’t played an NFL snap. Go with MVS Claypool Shakir Hollins Samuel Coleman, and put Shavers and Hamler on the practice squad and let’s get the party started. MVS is an NFL WR. He has made big catches. He has length and speed. Enough said.

Agree It was a lot of nothingness. There were no holes to run through for the receiving team. It looked like a run play up the middle every time. Pretty boring. Back 20-30 years ago, kickoffs were from the 30 yard line and there were lots of returns. It was an exciting play. The league never knows what it wants. What it should want is competitive physical football. They want 18 game seasons. Make rosters at 60 players all active for every game. And a practice squad also for when you lose guys to injuries. College teams sometimes have 100 guys dressed for a game. And the product is amazing.

It’s interesting how all the rule changes are always in favor of the offense. We can give Miami forward motion if they will bring back the Mel Blount forearm club to the head. Would love to see Tyreek writhing on the ground. it’s so interesting for us old time football fans how the game has changed. No one ever talks about how good of a hitter someone is. We signed Kareem Jackson, who will lay people out, and people are concerned that he is a “dirty player”. Some intimidation in the defensive backfield is a good thing. It’s football. A gladiators game. I guess Roger didn’t get the memo.

If he is a key player. Lets hope he keeps getting better, and stays injury free.

Most of the players are interchangeable to be quite honest. The league is about the teams and the organizations. And yes the players comprise the teams. But so do coaches, trainers, scouts, owners and GM's. Have you watched Hard Knocks NYG? I find the inner workings of a football organization far more fascinating that watching Aaron Rodgers throw passes in shorts and joking on the sidelines with his teammates. Like I said in my earlier post, certain players are awesome to watch. (Josh Allen, hopefully Keon Coleman, maybe Dalton Kincaid if we use him like Utah did.) But most are just players that are replaceable. Its the game of football and how its played and set up between all the teams is what I find exciting. When I was young I may have cared more about individual players. Now I love the games and the point spreads, and the competition between teams.

Where are we up to in the top 100 this week? Anyinteresting players at certain places on the list in your opinion?

Why do you even care what Deshaun Watson did or did not do? He was never charged with a crime. If what he did was a crime he would be in prison like Darren Sharper. You know what Sharper did right? Sure he seems to be a big time sketch guy. But the moral sanctimonious outrage that people have in this world towards stuff that doesn’t personally affect them is just way too over the top. Unless he is messing with my daughter, I am not losing sleep over Deshaun Watson at this point. I have way bigger fish to fry bro. Most people can’t take care of their own business, let alone worry about everyone else’s.

Milano is as tough and competitive a player as there is. He will go as hard as he can for as long as he can with his career. I see him playing at a high level for at least another 3-4 seasons if he can stay reasonably healthy. it’s been 4 days of training camp. He needs to knock the rust off. And the guys he is covering are good too. No one on defense dominates every snap in today’s NFL. It just doesn’t happen. if Milano needs a little time to get up to speed, we have Spector Williams Morrow Jones and the rookie from UW. We are deep at LB and across the entire roster (Maybe could use another boundary CB depending on how solid Ingram looks)

He isn’t horrible. But he doesn’t make many game changing plays either. After this many years, he understands the Bills defense and must be decent on special teams. But there must be some upside to keep a guy on an NFL roster. I have never liked McDermott’s philosophy of keeping guys primarily for special teams. They should have some value as backups on O and D too. I think of Siran Neal and Tyler Matekevich. What a waste. They could not really play D. And they were meh on ST’s and Neal was worse than that at the end. I hope the bottom of the roster is stronger going forward. I think it will be.

From all reports Hollins is having a strong camp so far and has turned into somewhat of a leader since coming to the team. I will be very happy w a WR group of Shakir Coleman MVS Samuel Hollins and Claypool. Shavers and Hamler can go on the PS if they have any game. It’s a much deeper group than last year. Beane knew what he was doing getting rid of Diggs and Davis. Our roster is loaded. And if the defense stays reasonably healthy, we are in the top 4-5 teams in the NFL again. I am so excited! Let’s go Bills.

You really worship these players don't you? Sure they can run fast, and some are really good athletes. But they can all be replaced by someone else who does the same thing. A lot of them have a real inflated sense of their worth. But Its like that in a lot of industries in today's world. Everything thinks they are special. Most in any field really aren't. Same in the NFL. Only a very few are transcendental talents in their era. Fortunately, we have one named Josh Allen, who is just a normal guy. Lets go Bills.

Its not a fan vote is it? I assume its a collection of NFL Network people who follow the NFL, right? Terrell Bernard had a monster year last year. Who cares if its only one year. As for Milano, his body of work over the years most definitely makes him a top 100 player. And I would argue that Milano is a top 50 player in the league. Bernard is close to it also. There are just not a lot of great defensive players in the league right now. Its an offense based league. But we have several very good defensive players. Ed Oliver also. But not as dominant as Milano and Bernard. But still good. Rasul Douglas is a very good corner. So is Benford. You don't win as many games as we have over the past 5 years without good players. Do you have the entire list?

What makes you think that? He can make all the throws and is a winner.. Did you not watch him at Michigan lead the comeback against Alabama on the final drive of regulation? Go Blue baby!!

The Willie Parker game. His name had escaped me until now. Yes we went on a 6 game run, going from 3-6 to 9-6. I remember beating Seattle during that run on a trick play to Willis McGhahee. I was skiing with my kids in Colorado. I think it was Christmas vacation time. We get home the night of the Steelers game, which I had recorded. And then watched in horror as we played awful. I remember a bad Bledsoe pick. And a missed Ryan Lindell FG from 29 yards. And Willie Parker going off. That entire era was mostly bleak. But I never missed watching a game. In fact the last game I missed was the season finale in 1994 when we were already eliminated from playoff contention. Lets go Buffalo.

Our WR room turned out to be pretty poor last year. And we made changes. I like what we did. The constant complaining on this message board is a bit much. Do a lot of you sit around all offseason bemoaning what we don’t do? I am super excited that training camp is upon us. That means football is almost here. I love that. And I love watching Josh Allen laying waste to the NFL. I trust Brandon Beane and know the team we put on the field this year is going to kick some big time ass.

Long time ago. Mike Malarkey era. That was a lousy year coming off the last game of the 2004 season losing to the backup Steelers at home when a win got us in the playoffs. I hated those uniforms too.

Good point. Noone is driving up to the Elbo Room on Fort Lauderdale beach in one of those. Most get rides on turbo charged golf carts down Las Olas blvd. Which can be a blast as long as you hold on tight.

Didn't that happen to Bruce Smith in Virginia Beach many years ago? As for Addison, 6-8 game suspension? A lot of these young guys are really stupid. I guess their parents don't really show them the way. King Roger will have to take their place.

He was just an excellent football player. Not HOF excellent. But got the most out of his abilities. Seemed like a good guy. Just super solid. Wish we had never let him go. I also loved Terrance McGhee. Another super solid NFL player. Got the most out of his ability. Good team guy. Great kick returner. You just have to love guys who just bring their best week in and week out.

That video "Autumn Wind is a Raider" gives me chills. Other than the Bills, would there have been any team better to play NFL football for then the 1970's Raiders??!! Just tough mean and talented. Maybe the Greatest Show on Turf Rams as well. I loved watching Kurt Warner throw a football. So smooth. I will let my mother know. She will get a kick out of that. She is still a big Bills fan. Lives in Toronto and is 83. Had seasons tickets until about 5 years ago. Would drive down w her boyfriend from Toronto for most of the games. But he has gotten sick and old. So she stays in Toronto and watches all the games on TV. And all the Blue Jays and Raptors games. LOL Last game I believe she went to was the blizzard game against the Colts.

Thanks for those tidbits on George Saimes and how the 1960's Bills interacted with the community. That is really cool. Robert James was great back in the 70's. For some reason I remember the game he blew out his knee. And I think it ended his career? Was it a preseason game? I was a kid and I have this vision of it happening at night. I believe I was watching at my grandparents house in Detroit. Weird memory of being a 9 year old kid..

Dorian Williams. He plays fast. And once he learns the pro game some more, he will be making plays all over the field.

That's very interesting Logic. You sound like a real student of the Bills going way back. I moved to Buffalo at the start of 1976 when I was 10 and became a fan at that point. I remember a guy named Terry Miller who came on board as a RB out of Oklahoma State in I believe in 1978 under Chuck Knox. My first game I went to was in 1977 against the Colts. It was really cold, and we sucked. Gave up like 10 sacks back when the Colts had a great front 4. Dutton Ehrmann Cook and Barnes I think were their names. They just destroyed Fergy that cold day, while me and my buddy froze. Are you a big student of the entire NFL? I was watching hilites the other night on You Tube of the Chargers 1970 season. LOL. Love the music and John Facenda narrating the show. That's interesting about Saimes. He is on the wall so he must have been a force. Is he alive still?
