  1. I agree. For a preseason game thought it was very entertaining. I liked the Bills playcalling on offense. And both Trubisky and White looked reasonably sharp. Shenault made a great hands catch in the endzone on the 2 pt conversion. That guy has some juice. Bills need to find a place for him on the team. If its between him and Codrington go with the bigger man. On defense it looked ugly at times. We just seem to have a big problem evaluating talent especially on the D Line. But look out for #35. That guy was on fire. Find a place for him as well.
  2. It was an entertaining game if nothing else. Both Trubisky and White played reasonably well. Back up WR's particularly Shavers Wilkerson Cain and Hamler all have some juice to their game. Our O line will make a lot of RB's look good. Except for maybe Ray Davis. Guy just looks stuck in mud. Maybe a 1-2-3 punch of Ty Johnson, Frank Gore Jr and Darynton Evans. And Davis & Davis can handle our kicking duties if Bass can't get healthy. LOL As for the defense. We have some dam good LB's. And #35 who we just signed was flying around like a nut. Do not get rid of him. The problem is the D line. They get absolutely no pass rush. Doesn't matter who they put in, nothing!! Landon Jackson looked awful. No one was getting near the QB. What is it about our D Ends. They make nothing happen. Maybe we will be stouter against the run. But the pass rush was non existent. 1's 2's 3's. Noone did anything. As for the secondary. Benford is a stud. But we need Hairston back. Trey White starting scares me. Great guy. But looks super slow. Hancock looks to have the most talent we have had at safety since Hyde and Poyer were in their prime. Anyone have any idea what is the problem w the D line especially the pass rush? Scheme, lack of talent, coaching?
  3. Great point. Will it get better starting tomorrow with Mitch Trubisky? Doubtful. But maybe he will let just let it rip... Never understood why QB's in the NFL are afraid to just let it rip all over the field, instead of playing safe dink and dunk nonsense.
  4. Then why hasn't a deal been made between Cook and the Bills? I personally don't think the Bills look at Cook like the Rams look at Williams. Williams got a ton of carries and snaps even with a good Blake Corum behind him last year. The Bills like the committee approach. And that works for us. So the Bills maybe offering Cook less than $10 mill per year, and have probably told his agent, we are not paying a rotational back top 10 RB money regardless of how good 2024 was. Because that is not how we use our RB's. If so, Cook should get his butt on the practice field, and play out the final year of his contract. Then he can become a free agent, if the Bills won't pay him in a range that he will accept after this year.
  5. I live in Georgia and am not much of a Dawgs fan. They have a lot of miscreants on the team. And yes other college teams do also. But Georgia has more than most of the other top programs. Kirby Smart allows that. And the university administration allows that. The school itself is great academically. But as for the football players, not so much. Schools like Bama and Michigan recruit different types of guys. Just how it is. That being said, we have won nothing being a heavy running team. The play calling against Baltimore in the second half of last year's playoff game was way too conservative. As was the play calling two years ago against KC in the playoffs late in the game. The play calling in last years AFCCG was not much better, especially in short yardage, lest you forget. If we want to win the Super Bowl, we obviously need a much better defense. (which hopefully we will have) and I believe need to have a more consistent stronger passing game, which I believe Josh Allen is fully capable of doing.
  6. What does a "process" guy actually mean with the way you are using the term? I want WR's who can get open against NFL DB's, have good hands, and are not constantly nicked up. If he can play special teams, that's a nice bonus. Would Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase be good "process guys"?
  7. Is Shavers really better than Wilkerson or Dion Cain for that matter? Lets see what all these guys can do in the preseason. And what about KJ Hamler? He has been here for a bit now.
  8. How about a trade for McLaurin from the Commanders?
  9. You REALLY love Cook. He is a solid RB. But Not losing sleep if he doesn’t play another down for us. We have a talented team. If we have to throw 40+ times per game and Josh is running 15 times/ game so be it. We will survive and excel. Too much talent on this team at every position for us not to. Davis and Johnson are both good runners. Beane isn’t paying Cook more than the Williams deal. Not going to happen. Maybe bring back Mike Gillislee. lol Remember him? My point is, we have a real good run blocking O line. Much more important than overpaying James Cook. We will find guys to carry the rock. Cooks’ brother was a dumb ass. And James isn’t much smarter. That’s what you get out of Georgia players.
  10. If the Bills were going to offer Cook that kind of contract, it would have been done a long time ago. I don't see Beane going anywhere near that. He is not the kind of GM that will be bullied by anyone. Look how he went off about our supposed lack of quality WR's on the radio talk show. I think he has made the Bills best offer to Cook. He can take it or not. I don't think anyone on the coaching staff or management is losing sleep over James Cook.
  11. Don’t be so dramatic. It wasn’t in good taste. But this board could use a little controversy at times. 90% of the people have the same opinion on here. It does get monotonous at times.
  12. I am more concerned about Bishop. We know what Shakir can do. Bishop on the other hand not so much. His shoulder injury last summer put him big time behind. And he never caught up. Now he has a quad injury-anyone know how serious it is? And Rapp always seems to be one big hit away from a concussion or some other damage. Time for Forrest and Hancock to step up and make their mark. Because Hamlin and anyone playing safety is not good.
  13. That is true about David Edwards. Good football players come literally in all shapes and sizes. That is what's most important finding talented players.
  14. I really have not watched much of Deone Walker's game. I reread your previous post. My question when we drafted this guy is why can't we bring in guys who have a little better height/weight distribution? If we are discussing 1 tech vs 3 tech, why do we have such trouble finding guys who are built to play 1 tech. Thick stout guys with big lower bodies? The quintissential 1 tech of the modern era was Vince Wilfork. Wasn't he like 6'3 and 325? That would seem to be a perfect 1 tech. The Bills love these real tall guys on both lines. And I think its a disadvantage. Spencer Brown-way too tall. Greg Rousseau-way too tall. AJ Epenesa-too tall. Wasn't Jason Peters 6'4? I would not want any lineman over 6'5 period. And preferably a little shorter. Remember Jim Ritcher from years back? He was maybe 6'1 I believe and was a hell of a guard. If Walker does not play 1 tech, who else do we have other than Daquan Jones? There you go. Squats are not difficult as long as you know how to do them, and don't mess up your knees going down.
  15. The guy had a stress fracture in his back last season. He is 6'7, he should be at least 330 pounds. Just needs to gain more muscle. D Lineman don't need to be trim. Big and heavy is what DT's need to be.
  16. Did Kincaid practice today? I am worried about his knee situation. And what about Knox? Is he still not practicing? Are we going into the season with Davidson and Hawes as our starting two TE's? That would be something. Can Keith McKeller or Jay Reimersma still move? (half joking only)
  17. I know what you are saying. And if he looks good, he is thinking someone will give him a shot, if he doesn't stick with the Bills. I remember in one of the preseason games, maybe against Chicago (did we play Carolina in the preseason last year also?) that he looked real solid making some plays.
  18. The guy is an odd dude. Noone wants that in the NFL. Pete Carroll is an old school 70 something year old coach. He doesn't need or want any distractions. Plus Wilkins foot is a mess. He has the Deuce Staley type injury. Les Franc fractures are real tough to come back from. Have a nice life Wilkins. Mitch Morse and Josh Allen wish you well loading packages on the UPS loading dock.
  19. Football is physical and violent. Everyone on your 53 man roster and practice squad has to be at least good enough to hold their own starting at their respective positions. Guys like Baylon Spector have not been that. Hopefully he can stay healthy and show if he deserves to be on an NFL field. Unless a guy is carted off the field, I think these are nicked up type injuries. And for the most part doesn't sound too serious. Hopefully thats true for Shavers. I am concerned a bit about Spencer Brown. Guy hasn't practiced yet. Has back issues, and is a real tall dude. Not a good mix.
  20. Dion Cain had a real strong preseason last year. I think he could fight for the sixth WR spot on the roster. Has some burst, decent size and good hands. Hope he gets a fair shot.
  21. I loved watching Sterling Sharpe play. Would have been one of the best ever, except for the injury. Still great for the time that he played. Such a classier guy than his horse mouth brother.
  22. Good point about playing in shorts versus playing in pads. You just don't hear much anymore about NFL training camp practices being ultra physical. Yes they will do some hitting once the pads go on. But guys aren't beating the tar out of their teammates too often anymore. (Joint practices between two different teams will get more physical.) They have to keep the friendly fire stuff to a minimum. If it was all on violence, Taylor Rapp would be injured, and take out a few offensive players in the process. The Oklahoma drill is certainly a thing of the past. Hard to believe when my kid played pee wee football growing up in the suburbs of Atlanta in the mid 2000's, they were doing the Oklahoma drill at the end of a lot of practices when the kids were 6 and 7. I kid you not. And the parents were all gathered round screaming and cheering their kids on like they were gladiators. But lets hope all our receivers look good this year. Palmer Moore Shakir and Samuel are all fast. And Coleman can be the physical guy. He just needs to find his game. Fingers crossed.
  23. Keon may just not be ready to have a starting role on an NFL team. I say this thinking back to Eric Moulds career. He did not blossom until year 3 with Doug Flutie. And then was a big time beast for the rest of his career as a Bill. That being said lets hope Keon can get it going. Separation seems to be a problem for the young man. And his hands don't seem great either when it comes to catching contested balls. Not good when separation is a problem. Our starters at WR could very well be Moore, Palmer and Shakir. Not a bad triumvirate if I do say so.
  24. Maybe he strengthened his leg. I was just always really surprised how when he was punting for Michigan, that we could not find someone better. When we always had lights out kickers. But high school level punters. We still won the Nat Championship in 2023. Maybe he was a good luck charm or something. Did you ever hear of Charles Woodson, Lamar Woodley or Tom Brady? How about Jay Reimersma or Rashawn Gary? I have had enough.
  25. He looked good at Oregon a few years back. Especially in the bowl game against I believe Oklahoma. We probably have the worst backups collectively in the league. Although I still have hope that Mike White can find the magic he had several years back for a few games with the Jets. I just cringe when I see Mitch Trubisky with that stupid smile wearing a Bills uniform.
