Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed

A topic with TBD’s favorite whipping boy in the title. This ought to go well... -
Why can’t they? Looking at the game logs Barkley had these rushing totals last year: 28, 82, 44, 48, 43, 38, 67, 31, 43. Sure, he had 100+ in 7 games but in over half his games he failed to reach the century mark. Just because a guy is a top notch player doesn’t mean he explodes every game. The key is to build a lead so they have to move away from him in the 2nd half.

Will Patriots release Antonio Brown?
MDH replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miami is in shambles, the Jets' HC is already causing a media storm of negativity and the Pats are having a ton of off field issues. The more chaos for our division foes the better it ends up being for the Bills. -
Rookies you wanted to draft update...

Yeah, Hock was the guy I wanted as well and was disappointed when he went off the board right in front of the Bills’ pick, though judging from the war room’s reaction they wouldnt have taken him over Oliver anyway. That said, I was happy with Oliver at 9 and if he plays up to his potential represents more value as an elite pass rushing DT than an elite TE does. -
AB's Raiders meltdown was orchestrated. That type of thing wont' happen with the Pats. What I could see happening is AB getting frustrated that he's not getting fed the ball as much as he wants. We saw that last year when Ju Ju started really cutting into his targets. Brady won't force the ball to anybody, he'll go where the coverage dictates. The first game the Pats lose that AB didn't get his targets we'll see something on social media. Of course, the Pats might go 16-0...

Josh Allen's "awful" 1st half...THIS is the article to read

Yeah, it wasn't really back shoulder, it was too far inside to be that. He still gave his best playmaker a chance to win a one on one battle which is what I want to see. -

On the contrary, how many bad teams can lose the turnover battle by 4, on the road, and still win? The answer is none, none bad teams. -

Seems about right for the Bills. How they have the Seahawks, who almost lost to their #30 team last week (at home, no less), ahead of Baltimore, who demolished the #32 team, is a head scratcher. How the Seahawks move up after that performance even more so. -
It takes about 3 lbs of pressure to injure an extended knee. He doesn't have to hit him hard, his body weight is more than enough. How many times have you seen OL hurt this exact same way? A player rolls up behind them and ends their season.

I think they expect him to be more than that.

Week 1: The good, the bad, and the missing
MDH replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said in my first post in this thread, if that happens then THAT’S when you complain about the other WRs, not after a game like yesterday. Jones isn’t a great WR but harping in him after yesterday is over the top. -
And it's only going to get worse. So looking forward to the media storm when this team starts 1-5 or 0-6.

Cleveland doesn't have it easy early on either. After the Jets they have Rams, Ravens, 49ers, Seahawks and Patriots. Those teams are 5-0 after week one. I'm hoping both these teams go down in flames. I feel for Browns fans (how could you not) but I really don't like the makeup of the team. I love to see teams that "win the offseason" crash and burn. My guess is whichever one comes out of next week's game 0-2 will be in for a long season.

Yeah, this frustrates the hell out of me too.

They were until Neal came into the game and then they made a point of targeting him. I think Crowder had like 9 or 10 of his catches once Johnson left the game.

1st sack - Jets double team Oliver leaving everybody else singled up. Millano does a nice spin move to beat his guy from the front side. Darnold sees this and moves to his blind side, right into Hughes' waiting arms. 2nd sack - Jets double Star while the Bills send a 5th rusher - Poyer. Poyer comes totally free from the right side. Hughes also beats his man cleanly. Poyer gets there first and notches the sack. 3rd sack - Darnold actually has plenty of time here, over 3 seconds to find somebody. Eventually Shaq comes free, followed by Alexander. Shaq chases him down and notches the sack. Secondary obviously did a fine job on this one as Darnold should have been able to find somebody in the time he had. 4th sack - Jets have 3 blocking 2 in the middle vs. Oliver and Alexander. They start out doubling Alexander before switching it up to Oliver. This leaves Alexander one on one. Despite double team Oliver still pushes the pocket. At the same time Hughes pushes his guy right back into Darnold's lap. Darnold tries to find a place to get away to and ends up right in Alexander and Hughes' grasp. Hughes has to be loving this. He's seeing single teams now. I'd imagine at some point in the near future we're going to see them slide help to Hughes side and it will be on Oliver, Murphy and Star to get the job done. One thing is obvious, teams are giving Oliver a lot of attention.

Week 1: The good, the bad, and the missing

Nobody is saying Zay is a great wideout. But he's not complete trash, like many on this board try to portray him. He gets open on a pretty consistent basis. People don't like him because he drops more than his fair share of balls - which is a fair critique. But as I said in a thread a month ago, I'd rather have a guy that gets open and drops a few balls than a guy who just can't get open, that's Duke Williams. There's a reason no team picked up Duke, it's because he couldn't get separation from guys who are bagging groceries right now. He relied on making contested catches against those guys. He wouldn't make nearly as many of those against starting DBs and coaching staffs know this. Unfortunately for the Bills they don't have someone better than Jones right now. Hopefully they will in the future. I made it about Zay because he's the only one who saw the field. How can you blame guys who are sitting on the bench? -
Week 1: The good, the bad, and the missing

Foster had, I believe, 4 snaps. McKenzie zero. It's hard to call them out for not contributing when they weren't even on the field. But have at it. As for Zay, do you know how math works? 65% of his balls were completed. If Zay has more catches that takes the ball out of Brown's and Beasley's hands. Is that REALLY what you want? If those other guys are getting open consistently Zay won't get many touches. It's just the way it is. I have no idea what you're complaining about. You don't like Zay Jones yet you're bitching he's not getting the ball enough. It's like going to a restaurant, saying the food SUCKS then also complaining that the portions are way too small. -

WTF are you talking about? If Zay had 6 receptions you'd be questioning why Brown didn't have a bigger day. There are only so many balls to go around, everybody can't have big numbers unless they throw it more. If Brown gets a safety rolled over on him and Allen can't get him the ball and Zay and company don't pick up the slack, THAT'S the time to call them out. Not after a game like yesterday. You're just looking to call these guys out because you want to be proven "right." -

And? Brown had a big game as the #1 target and Allen completed 65% of his passes. How many more receptions were there to go around?
