That first holding call on Dawkins is inexcusable. It’s a free play, you don’t hold to protect your QB there as the refs are supposed to blow it dead if a player is coming in unabated to the QB. That penalty made me mad. The following one on Morse was kinda on Allen and kinda a bad call. Allen held the ball for 5-6 seconds on that play, you can’t expect the OL to hold off the D that long...except that was a totally ticky-tack call that had no impact on the play. Those are the types of calls the refs have been instructed not to call. But yeah, it might have been a different game had they picked up the first there. It’s tough to know what would have happened. The Bills crosses mid-field time and time again this game yet had little success putting points in the board.

Oftentimes he doesn’t put enough air under it which allows his WR to run under the ball or adjust their route to accommodate a less than perfect throw. He just fires it down field like a bazooka. He doesn’t have to be Jeff Blake but damn Josh, put some air on those throws.

I noticed the flag flying through the background while they were showing the replay of the hit. Immediately I knew it was going to be offsetting f’n penalties and the Bills were screwed in more ways than one. And yeah, he should have been ejected.

It was also a PI, which you’ll sometimes get if the throw is catchable. And yeah, Barkley doesn’t have an average arm but he also understands his limitations. He’s not a good QB (or even a good backup IMO) but I think he’ll be fine for a single game.

I don’t know if it’s asinine. Allen definitely needs to be in the field the moment he’s ready but with this D just not giving the other team the ball will generally be enough to win. Barkley can do that better than Allen at this point.

It wasn’t lost on me that the first deep shot down the field was completed when Barkley lobbed one up and actually allowed a WR to make a play as opposed to overthrowing his target by 5 yards.

Yep, play some Tyrod ball and the Bills should win. Take a 4-1 record into the bye with Miami in the other side and the Bills should be on schedule for the post season.

What did I predict?

I think he intellectually knows these things but when the bullets fly he’s not thinking about making the smart play. He reverts back to his instincts which have often worked for him in the past. Unless he can overcome a lifetime of poor decisions that have been reinforced because they sometimes worked he’s never going to be a consistent QB at the NFL level. Im beginning to have my doubts.

What about your crybaby attitude towards people who have a different opinion than you?

Yeah, a personal foul should be an automatic first down even with offsetting penalties. If the foul is in the O it should be automatic loss of down.

OL was outstanding for the most part. INT from Barkley at the end of game being one exception.

He looked like he was knocked unconscious. I would be shocked if he wasn’t out until after the bye.

Anything to take the attention away from QB play.

Even if the ref didn’t think he grabbed the mask you can’t hit a QB in the head. He had his pick of calls to make there and didn’t make either.

He keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. It’s infuriating. Guy has like 6 seconds to throw the ball away and refuses to do so.

Wtf is he challenging here? There is zero chance of a reversal.

That one is on Josh. He can’t just throw it up. Sure, I’d like to see Zay protect the ball better but that throw is all on Allen.

It’s pretty sad when all I was hoping for all week was a decent showing. I wasn’t hoping for a win, just don’t come out and look horrible. We can’t even have that.
