There is a difference though. Its the same thing we saw with Manziel: off field activities, maturity, and the will/desire to be the hardest worker in the room. Winston has all the physical tools, but do you trust him to put in the work to make himself great or will he be another Jamarcus Russel who thought that pure talent was enough. The 14 game argument only holds water if the guy is putting in the work to better himself. If he's not, no amount of play time will make much of a difference. All that being said I dont know how you dont roll the dice and pick him if you are in need of a QB. Just dont be surprised if hes a huge bust 4 years from now.

It can also happen to a guy who is working on his footwork and throwing motion. Of course he's doing this at the same time he's reading the D trying to figure out the proper read. He's thinking instead of playing. It takes a lot of repetitions before he'll stop thinking about all those things. Hopefully he's gotten to (or will soon get to) the point that he can just play. We'll see a different player when he can do that.

If they are going to give teams an extra time out for medical reasons the player should have to miss the rest of the quarter, not just a single play. And yeah, it shouldn't work in the last 2 minutes of the game.

Well, yes and no. He re-aggravated a knee he had scoped last offseason. So it was already a knee that had been bothering him and he had a minor procedure on. Rex's Ds have been successful at stopping the run more often than not. I'm not worried about the D at all as long as they stay relatively healthy.

Schwartz was probably a season or two from getting some HC interviews. I'm guessing he wasn't too happy with Marrone bailing on the team. He might have flushed Schwartz's HC chances down the toilet with him.
