  1. You dont have to wait and see, just look at the Seahawks and Niners the past few seasons.
  2. I admit I dont study the cap and every signings implications but seeing the Saints deal one of the best players in the NFL in his prime a year after re-signing him is a wake uo call that you cant keep pushing money back.
  3. I dont doubt they could manage it this year but what happens next year? You cant manage the cap by saying "we'll worry about that next year?" I want Dareus wrapped up. Id like Gilmore wrapped up. There are some QBs who may actually hit FA next year too.
  4. A deal like that woukd be a serious obstacle in re-signing Dareus. You can't have too many contracts like that on a team and I prefer the big man to Revis.
  5. Yep, these types of signings don't create headlines but they do build winners.
  6. Not sure I'd agree that the NYC market is "obscurity." I don't blame a guy for taking a huge paycheck AND being able to live where he considers "home."
  7. When you have Montana you can innovate in the passing game. When you have Mcmahon you win with Sweetness and D.
  8. The problem is that I seriuosly doubt Hughes plays to the end of that contract as once he starts getting paid 7.5 per he'll start grumbling for a new contract. So In that sense the Bills didnt really save money on it as they'll likely have to do redo it 2-3 years from now.
  9. Seems like it would get in the way of signing Dareus next year unless it was a one year deal (which I doubt Revis would sign with the Bills.) I'd rather go with the big man.
  10. Pretty sure it's not the teams releasing it. Perhaps they should contact the agents.
  11. What's the argument about? I'll only be pissed if there isn't a legit QB competition in camp. If there is then let the best man win. I want EJ to succeed but he doesn't need to be handled the job, he needs to earn it. That being said if the competition is very close I'd give the nod to EJ as he's the one with some upside.
  12. That 34 year old back was still the best back on e roster last season.
  13. People have a lot more faith in Duke than I do it seems. I hope he steps up his game but what Ive seen so far is a guy who looks lost quite a bit. I like to see guys brought in at any posititon that is a weakness even if its just a young guy to push the starter.
  14. Yep, its never good when a division rival signs a guy of that ilk. What I do hope is that this leaves the Phins short of space/cash to match a Bills offer to Clay.
  15. I dont think they'll sign a FA bit I can see them draftng a guy who can come in and compete, particulalry if they can get a G and TE in FA.
  16. None of those guys is a quality option at S. Granted, you cant have above league average players everywhere but if those are the options at S going into the season its the weakest spot in the roster. Yeah I think Williams is a better G than Duke is a S (granted I seriously hope Williams isnt starting...)
  17. Why would you cut a guy who is better than the guy youre bringing in? Freddie is the 2nd best back on this roster and a leader, makes no sense to cut him. Then again I think it makes no sense to be looking at Powell at all. Backs shouod be set, spend money on another area of the team instead if bringing in Rex retreads.
  18. It was absolutely a weakness when Duke had to take over. And moving Graham there makes CB a weakness as Robey was burnt time and time again. They need a better option at S because Duke isnt it.
  19. Ahh, the "truth." Somehow all those NFL teams that had him marked as a 1st or 2nd round pick couldn't see that he has no ability. Too bad they didn't have someone with your keen eye in their building to guide them to the light. You would have told them to not even bring him in as an un-drafted FA because he has no "actual ability."
  20. I don't think so. It only looks like this week's threads after it's done and people have talked themselves into liking it. People in this thread pretty much unanimously said that they wouldn't even consider trading Kiko unless it was for a franchise QB (and no team was going to do that.)
  21. Graham could, but his real value is at CB and he'd be missed in the nickel package in particular. I know there are lots here who love Robey but he was exposed time and time again in coverage last year. No matter how you slice is Searcy leaving has an impact on the D, whether it's with Duke taking his spot (ouch) or having to move CBs around. The guy played well last year and will be missed.
  22. Who just sits there as this is happening? I think at that point you're allowed to strike the woman.
  23. Same. It's almost like he's never seen EJ play.
  24. Oh, he catches most of them...short of the first down.
  25. Searcy was not a depth guy. He is significantly better than Duke and was coming into his own. Highly undervalued by Bills fans. If the Bills don't fine a quality replacement I'll go WAY out on a limb and say they'll end up missing him more than Hughes.
