Yep, throwing it there wouldn't have been smart.
-
I'm looking for a 5th Int before its all done.
-
Think I would have run it on 3rd down with the expectation of going for it on 4th.
-
Mathews ran him down easily a few minutes ago. Guys is so quick to the ball.
-
Doubt he will be, looks like a broken arm or dislocated shoulder.
-
It doesn't quite take the running game out of it but it almost does. Let's see how clutch Wilson is here.
-
Marrone would have punted on that fake FG attempt.
-
Why wouldn't that be a dead ball personal foul? If he play wasn't over there is nothing wrong with it. If it's over its a dead ball foul.
-
Down 16 to start half and Seattle comes out running three straight times. They're going to make Wilson the highest paid QB in the league? I like Wison and think he's a good QB but I wonder what his record would be if he was QB of the Colts with their D.
-
On the plus side Bills might have late season wins vs. both teams in the Super Bowl.
-
I thnk both NFC teams are better than NE but I guess we'll see.
-
Seattle isn't built to come from behind with only the passing game. They had better score early in the 2nd half to keep the run game in play. If Seattle D gives up another TD I have serious doubts whether Seattles offense can actually score 23+ points in a half.

Raiders hire DelRio; Niners to promote Tomsula to HC
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you'd have to turn off "have the CPU approve trades" in Madden to get this one through. -
Generally, yeah. But you can space them however you want. Just think steelers zone blitz where a bunch of guys are in two point stances and some drop back and some rush the QB. All these 1-5-5 and 2-4-5 formations are just variations of that. It just gets into technicalities with personnel and alignment that sets them apart.

Saint Doug never saw a challenge he didn't love running away from.

What the hell are people talking about in this thread? Theyre mocking something because they don't understand something? The 1-5-5 is just a version of the nickel that's been around for years. It's not as popular as the 2-4-5 but it's used on occasion by a lot of teams that run a Base 3-4. As for the original question: I'm sure we'll see it but I don't think we have the LBs to run it much. On the DL Dareus would be the anchor more than likely but only Mario could stand upright and be an LB (I'm assuming Hughes won't be back.) like others have mentioned it ends up taking Williams off the field which isn't bad in so long as it's used sparingly. Rex has used it in the past but from what I've seen (and from watching Petine) he's much more likely to run the 2-4-5 regularly which is the zone blitz (with perhaps man one one side) package that they've favored in the past.

Barry Sanders - Most exciting player I've ever seen. Perhaps the best RB ( and certainly better than Emmitt.) Steve McNair - Underrated QB who never got the credit he deserved. Just a competitor. Steve Young - I consider him to be the best QB I've ever seen. And yeah, I've watched plenty of Montana, Brady and Peyton. Ronnie Lott - Used to lay the lumber in a way we'll never see again. Mike Singletary - Never took a play off. Like ever. If forced to pick one I'd go Barry. I still marvel at the things he did.

High School Coach Suspended After His Team Won 161-2
MDH replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
These are high school kids. In pro sports, or major college, I agree with you. But some girls who just want to play some basketball shouldn't have to be full court pressed by the starters of an elite team for the entire first half until the score hits 100-1. As for throwing in the towel, hell no. That's not what you teach kids. They need to see it through. Quitting isn't the answer. However, one would hope that the opposing coach would have a heart (or some sportsmanship) and not try to prove some point against 16 year old girls. All that being said, I wouldn't suspend him a few games for it. I'd take a long look at him at the end of the year and decide - based on his entire body of work - if winning was worth it. If it is then you get what you pay for. If not, you fire him and hire somebody more in line with what you're trying to teach your students. -
On the surface that would seem a good way to judge them, however, there is a reason they use yards for the "official ranking" as it can't be influenced by the offense. The Jets' O was a turnover machine and any D playing on the other side of them is going to give up points. Granted, this is obviously a two edged sword because Rex was the head coach of a team that was a turnover machine, which isn't good. But putting that on the D is being disingenuous.
-
I disagree. The DL got quite a few of their sacks because of the coverage. The secondary did a hell of a job last year and Gilmore was lights out in the 2nd half.
-
Great, I'm sold! I too believe it's much easier to win with a franchise QB. Err, So, where do we pick one up? Not sure what the point of this analysis is is. We already knew that. The problem is that the Bills already have a top D. So they'll use that to try and win games while they either develop of find a franchise guy. I'm not sure what else they're supposed to do.

Rex on EJ: "I'd like to see him use his legs more."
MDH replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It already demonstrates the differences between Marrone's staff and Rex's. It's pretty obvious that after the injuries Marrone and Hackett told EJ to not run it. I'd really like something in between. Something like Rogers or Luck. If it's not there run it. They'll get 15-30 yards a game in scrambles but it's not a staple of their O. -
More important Press Conference to you....Ryan or Roman?
MDH replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've never seen Roman operate with a solid passing QB so I don't know if he's able to run an offense that's an up temp passing attack. My hope is that he can do for the Bills what he did for the Niners in the past 4 seasons and if/when the Bills develop/land a QB who is capable of handling the load it evolves into a more aggressive offense. As it is now, an up tempo passing type offense would fall flat on it's face and leave the D out to dry. -
Well, gold is a very malleable metal.

How Rex can get Bills to playoffs well researched PFF articl
MDH replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ was certainly a good mobile QB in college. The injuries made him look like he was moving with tar on his feet, but before that the guy could move. He's no Vick or Cam but he was certainly mobile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYRCkpnnlIs
