Which Statistical areas on offense need improvement?
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, and this takes either a dominant OL to enforce their will in the run game or a QB who is quick/accurate on his reads/passes. I'm not sure we have either of those things. Hopefully Roman can scheme to eliminate the team's weaknesses but a coach can only do so much. -
Carucci's Take 5 / Offseason Workouts (shots at old regime)
MDH replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not a fan of FireChan's posts but I wouldn't go this far. In fact, he contributes quite a bit to the board in that he helps create debate. Without some posters taking a contrarian view it would get incredibly boring having everybody generally agree on most topics. Of course, the posters that do this will be labeled "trolls" and be vilified but without them it would be a more stale environment. All that being said, I'm not sure I've ever agreed with FireChan but I do appreciate that he usually keeps his cool despite all the vitriol thrown his way. -
Yeah, I appreciate the love but he goes a bit overboard.

Nope, I wasn't abusive in the least bit. The UK is a bit different in their demeanor and it doesn't work the way things do in the States. Any aggravation in my voice - If I raised my voice the slightest bit - and they'd hang up. In my 40 years on the planet I never got hung up on while in the States.

I don't know about the quality of the reception but the actual customer service at many places sucks. I currently live in London (though I'll be back in the States in a week!) and have had the worst banking experience in my life here. They consistently decline my card and then want to send me a new one. Why? They won't tell me anything other than it's "for your protection." When I call to try and get some help they hang up on me if I show the slightest aggravation. They literally hang up on me. As if I'm not going to be aggravated that they continuously decline my card for whatever "security reasons" they come up with. When I'm actually able to keep my composure they ask me a dozen questions about my activity and want exact numbers and places of things I've charged recently. However, in order to log on to their website to get this info I have to use this little machine that I put my card into and it gives me a log in code. Of course that gets declined because - wait for it - my card has been turned off! So I have to actually go down to the bank and wait in line and talk to a representative. I've done this at least 7-8 times. It's a vicious cycle and one that has me and my wife pulling our hair out. Change banks you say? Can't, the company my wife works for requires a Barclays account to deposit paychecks.

That's all? Pfffft.

Fletcher Cox: Eagles have #1 front 7 in NFL
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no way in hell the Pats D is ranked in the top 10. Their front 7 is good but teams are going to throw all day on that secondary. -
This would be more clever if OBJ was taking the place of God instead of Adam.
-
So he takes it to the media? Someone needs to get a thicker skin.

I seriously doubt anybody is on the bubble when pads haven't even been put on. We're really going to bubble the starting RT when they've only been in shorts? I don't doubt Kujo's talent but I'll believe Kujo has turned the corner when I see/hear about him doing it live.

53-yr-old Herschel Walker says he can still play in NFL
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hershel Walker was never elite in the NFL. College, sure. USFL, yep. Once he stepped in with the big boys he was a pretty good player, but nothing to write home about. -
Bills' Mandatory Minicamp: June 16-18
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like a bunch of drops from WRs who won't even be on the team come opening day. I'll wait until the reg season to start burying the O. -
Doesn't mean we have to like them. I agree with Kzoo - without his play to compensate for it all we are left with his is dour personality. Perhaps if I knew him personally I'd feel differently but going off the persona he puts out there for us to consume, Shady is a douchebag. I'll root for the guy 'cause he's a Bill but that's the only reason. All that being said I also agree with a poster upstream that this post is about a week too late.

Who is going to be the biggest surprise Bill this year?
MDH replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see it. Both Watkins and Harvin can take the top off a D and Hogan actually makes it out of the training room onto the field. I'm not even a Hogan fan but Goodwin provides very little that other WRs can't replicate and given his penchant for getting hurt I don't see him making the team in front of Hogan. -
Secretariat versus American Pharoah - Guess who wins?
MDH replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You're likely you're right that Secretariat wins, but my point was is that simply looking at a clock doesn't prove that. It's a race vs. the other horses not vs. a clock and every race plays out differently. -
Secretariat versus American Pharoah - Guess who wins?
MDH replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Races aren't run vs. a clock, they're run vs. the other horses. So because Secratariat finished with a faster time doesn't mean the race would have played out like that if they were head to head. Pharaoh didn't have to surge out, he got to set the pace and nobody challenged him early so there was no need for him to push it. Who knows if he breaks down late if he's challenged early or if he is able to put up a spectacular time but simply splicing two reels of film together doesn't really settle the discussion. -
Cary Williams and Evan Mathis not fans of Chip Kelly either
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you really think he loved the program, thought it worked, but just decided to say some random critical thing about the coach on his way out? -
My 10 year old son (11 in one week) was in the same boat. We love watching Flash together and watched two episodes of Daredevil together before I told him he couldn't watch it anymore. Thankfully that's when I did it as in episode three the Kingpin decapitates a guy by slamming his head repeatedly in a car door. I can't say for sure what you'd allow as a parent but I'm guessing most parents wouldn't want their youngish kids to watch a show with this much violence. I'd probably draw the line at 14/15 depending on the maturity of the child.

Cities in jeopardy of losing their teams
MDH replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once LA has a team what is the NFL going to do without having the power to threaten a local municipality with no team unless they give in to their demands? -
Cities in jeopardy of losing their teams
MDH replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You've hinted at having a family member in the front office of an NFL team. I guess we now know which team? -
The Gov'ment looking to end payments for honoring military
MDH replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. It makes it government sponsored propaganda and not a genuine, heartfelt, "thank you." -
Forget the stat line. Who looked better EJ or TT?
MDH replied to BuffaloMatt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe you lose all your "pretty cool guy" points when you are friends with many Patriots. Pretty sure it turns him into a scumbag who beats children and dogs. -
Incognito concert shenanigans - big deal or nah?
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is what fans do. They excuse the behavior of their team while criticizing bad behavior of players on other teams. If Richie was on the Pats all these posts would be ripping him. And Pats fans would be defending him. And Bills fans would be ripping Pats fans for being idiots defending him. And the world turns. -
I had that machine gun Kelly poster on my wall for years.

Don't go overboard with your praise!
