  1. Star is a rotational player who plays 20-25 (1/3) snaps per game. Hopefully he's making a difference for the plays that he's in there. Our run defense is better this year and he is definitely part of it. For what it's worth, PFF grades him as average based on their analysis (89th DL). https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/star-lotulelei/7795
  2. WEEK OPP dSNAP TKL AST SCK FF FR INT PD TD 1 at BAL 38 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 vs LAC 38 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 at MIN 24 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 The stats likely don't tell the whole story. But 24 plays... Role player. Kyle played 44 plays and had a tackle and a sack. Harrison Phillips played 23 plays, no stats. MIN was not running often, and Star is likely part of the run stuffing package.
  3. Which WR "reclamation project" would you rather have on this team. Gordon or Benjamin? Here's hoping both McCloud and Ford turn into something special.
  4. In 14 games against the NFL’s all-time sack leader, Buffalo Bills’ defensive end Bruce Smith, Webb allowed only 3 ½ sacks. http://www.talkoffamenetwork.com/richmond-webb-blocked-way-canton/
  5. Richmond Webb Josh Allen Josh Allen Josh Allen
  6. Big leg and a new holder for Hauschka, I presume. I wonder if that will have any negative impacts.
  7. Coleman costs us $3.5M (1.5M cap this year and 2M dead cap next year) not counting the 7th round pick. For one month of preseason. Not the end of the world, but, ouch!
  8. Option 1: Call any of the businesses that have tickets - see if they can send you four (or six). Option 2: Show up 20 minutes early and wait for 6 extra tickets where you are waiting for the shuttle service. I've never tried this, but it's likely to work out. Tickets come in blocks of four, so often people have extra. Try option 1. If I'm in the area of a Safelite Autoglass early next week I'll pick up 4 extra tickets (or 6 if I can) and send them to you. If interested in that, direct message me by clicking on my "R" icon and send me details.
  9. Might find updates here: https://twitter.com/TCBILLS_Astro
  10. There are really two extremes, depending on what you are after. 1. Home opener. Good weather. Loud fans. 2. December 30th - Experience a snow game if you are lucky. Tickets may be cheap and stadium may not be full. Or else this is when they will clinch the AFC and get home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Hard to say. (no it's not). Most memorable game for me was against the Jets in November 1988. Clinched AFC East and goalposts came down. I went with a pile of college buddies and we all had free tickets in the 3rd row at the 20 yard line.
  11. #1 - Trading Dallas the #20 pick in 2005 for JP Losman in 2004. The next year, Aaron Rodgers was drafted #25 overall. #2 - Maybin over Orakpo in 2009. Maybin had a quick first step ... right out of the NFL.
  12. I just bookmarked https://www.buffalorumblings.com/authors/matt-warren.
  13. Three "Gahh!!, what are they doing???" moments: 2004 - Trading up for JP Losman 2009 - Drafting Aaron Mabin instead of Brian Orakpo 2014 - Trading up for Sammy Watkins
  14. I was not super impressed with the video of AJ's top 10 plays at Alabama. A couple were under thrown and most we fairly simple lob passes to a streaking wide receiver. In Cincinnati he played with Eifert, Green, Sanu, Jones, and Bernard. Peterman likely could have impressed with that squad. All three QBs have a reasonable chance to start week one.
  15. White for #4, or White for Josh Allen, or White for 12, 53, 56. However you want to think about it - it's all about the same. In hindsight, if things worked out about the same, it would have been White for 22, 53, 56, and 63 because we would have taken Allen at 4 and Edmunds at 12. I think I'd take White over those four picks, but the Bills probably would have found a gem or two in those four picks.
  16. Chris mentions the Hawaii game, where Allen was 9 for 19, but looked good. He looked decent to me too. Two bad passes.
  17. The more game videos I watch, the more I believe Allen will be good sooner rather than later. 18. Thanks for posting! + Great feet + Ability to shed would-be sackers + Ability to throw on the run going left or right + Ability to throw accurately while off-balance + Can play under center or in shot-gun - Maddening in-accuracy on deep throws and simple swing passes - A couple "Bad" interceptions, where he just seemed to not see defenders - including an interception on a screen pass - Did not anticipate pressure to be ready with a "check-down" option Should be an interesting couple next years! I really hope he develops, because there is obviously something to this kid.
  19. Save McCoy, I feel like we lost three or four of our best offensive players this year. Our offense was ranked very low last year (29th in yards and 22nd in points). This year, we have maybe one or two proven lineman, no reliable WRs, and no proven QBs. I suspect we will fall off a bit or stay even with last year's rankings. Sometimes an OC or QB change makes all the difference. Can McCarren be a difference maker like Watson or Garoppolo last year? I'm hoping for the best, but not expecting it. On defense we should be much better than our 26th ranking. FA and this draft class filled a couple needed holes. I predict 7 wins.
  20. Trading Sammy last year gives us fewer holes this year, either at QB or perhaps another position. Sammy is now playing for the Chiefs (3yr/$45M). We've basically got KB and Star and a little extra draft capital instead of Sammy.
  21. Take two: Frank Reich will be Indianapolis Colts' new head coach https://sports.yahoo.com/take-two-frank-reich-will-indianapolis-colts-new-head-coach-202805208.html?src=rss
  22. Follow me here... 2017 - One first round pick. Trade their first round pick for a later pick and a 2018 first rounder. CHECK! 2018 - Two first round picks. Trade both of their first round picks for later picks and 2019 first rounders. RESULT: likely 4 second rounders. 2019 - Three first round picks. Trade three of their first round picks for later picks and 2020 first rounders. RESULT: likely 1 late first rounder, 3 second rounders. 2020 - Four first round picks. Trade four of their first round picks for later picks and 2021 first rounders. RESULT: likely 2 late first rounders, 3 seconds rounders. Thereafter - Five first round picks. Trade the worst four of their first round picks for later picks and subsequent year first rounders. RESULT: likely top 10 pick, late first rounder, 4 second rounders. Net result - 2021 and forever after - Nearly always a top 10 pick. Pick 1 or 2 or 3 in the draft about every 5 years. Nearly always an additional pick or sometimes two later in the first round. Nearly always two or three additional picks in the second or third round. Seems worth it to me, when the short-term trade-off is that you get multiple quality players like T.White or Dawkins instead of a single quality player like Lattimore. Long term, it seems that they would be at a competitive advantage annually. So I guess I'm for the trade-down. Every year.
  23. Would I have liked to have Watkins, Darius, Ragland, Seymore, and Darby against the Jags for the playoff game? Yes. Especially Darius and Watkins. Would we have made the playoffs with those good players on the roster? Not sure. Forgot trade for KB. In hindsight, I'll take the playoff appearance as well as KB and the stock pile of draft picks going into next year.
