The Dolphins' drives yesterday were: 38 yards (field goal--started the drive on the Miami 40 after Bass kicked off out of bounds) 18 yards (field goal--started drive on the Buffalo 48) 8 yards (field goal--started drive on the Buffalo 27) 18 yards (touchdown--started drive on the Buffalo 18) and in the fourth quarter 75 yards (touchdown--started drive on the Miami 25) plus the Miami defense scored in the third quarter on Josh's fumble. Conclusion: The Bills defense played an excellent game. They allowed one serious drive in the entire game. All the other Dolphins' scores came as a result of turnovers or starting their drives in Bills territory.

I was mad at McD for calling thst time out on the Fins failed pass, but in retrospect it is defensible. He noticed the defense was not priperly lined up for that play, and he was right—Waddle was open but Thompson overthrew him. If he had not, it would have been a TD, which McD’s TO would have prevented. It only looked bad because Thompson did not complete the pass.

I get it that the game was a nail biter. I was convinced, late in the 4th quarter, that they would lose. But the Bills played far from their best game, turned the ball over three times, and still scored 34 points. Those calling for Dorsey’s head are hysterical.

That was hard, but the relentless negativity in response is near pathological.

Interesting how canceling the Bills-Bengals game eliminated any possibility the Bengals would get the top seed, whereas the Bills are still alive for it. If I were a Bengals fan I would not be happy about that, or about the dumb idea that, even though they've won their division, they may have to flip a coin to decide if they play the Ravens at home or on the road in the playoffs.

I wouldn't have any trouble with the Bills forfeiting the game.

Obviously I'd like to see the Bills get the #1 seed. And the path to the Super Bowl is harder if they don't get it. But if they lose tonight they are far from done. #1 seeds have won only seven of the last 22 Super Bowls. Getting the home field and the bye are absolutely no guarantee.

This is fantasy. Even if he's cleared to play, he can't play at his former level coming off almost a full season of not playing. In the current situation he would not offer an improvement to the defense.

I think I agree with you about Morse. Six concussions is not good. When I had a concussion, even after I felt completely normal months later, if I bumped my head I was as woozy as if I were back in the minutes after the concussion.

In episode three of season one of the Apple TV series "Mythic Quest," the game company that is the setting of the series has to set up rules of behavior for people who sign on to the online game "Mythic Quest" that gives the series its title. They form a committee to decide what groups to ban from the game, playing one group of terrible people off against another in order to decide which group is the absolute worst. Wrong. The whole point of running the clock down is to leave the Dolphins with NO TIME on the clock, so you don't have to kick off and risk some miracle play.

I said the Vikings were going to fall apart after they lucked out and beat the Bills. I remember when the Raiders, many years ago, started 8-3 and then failed to make the playoffs.

This is my perception, too. So many people ready to jump off a ledge every week, no matter the result. So many people who are absolutely living in that last 13 seconds from the KC game last year.
