  1. What you're doing with this post is inviting the very people who annoy you to bash on McDermott for eight or nine pages. I'll take a pass.
  2. We got it, Newcam. You have made your point of view perfectly clear, repeatedly. We've absolutely understood what you are saying. Thanks.
  3. Claiming you are being "brutally honest" is a rhetorical device that has nothing to do with honesty. It's not an argument and it has no proof value. it's an assertion, a form of the rhetorical fallacy called "begging the question." It can also be seen as a form of ad hominum argument. It's a claim of "I am the tough minded realist and you are a wimp" without refuting anything.
  4. What was your opinion of Andy Reid as a coach in 2016? Just read this: (In 2013) Reid went on to lead the Chiefs to a 9–0 record to start the season, tied for the best start in franchise history.[71] Despite losing five of their last seven games, the Chiefs finished with an 11–5 record to clinch a wild card spot in the AFC playoffs. In the wild card round, they were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts 45–44 after surrendering a 28-point lead in the third quarter.[72][73] Under Reid, the Chiefs recorded a winning record in the 2014 season, finishing 9–7. However, they failed to qualify for the playoffs.[74] In 2015, the Chiefs were in danger of missing the playoffs for a second consecutive year after they lost five straight games to begin the season 1–5. Reid accepted the blame for his team's poor start[75] and his future with the Chiefs was called into question.[76] However, the Chiefs won every remaining regular-season game, finishing with an 11–5 record and a wild card spot in the AFC playoffs.[77] Reid would go on to lead the Chiefs to their first playoff win since the 1993 season in a 30–0 shutout of the Houston Texans,[78] but the team was defeated 20–27 in their Divisional Round game against the New England Patriots.[79] Prior to the loss, the Chiefs posted an eleven-game winning streak, which is the best in franchise history.[80] Reid was criticized for his clock management near the end of the game, calling no timeouts in a late fourth-quarter drive that cut the Patriots' 27–13 lead down to a touchdown but took the Chiefs 5 minutes and 16 seconds to score and left them with only a minute and 13 seconds to try and tie the game.[81] Reid improved in the regular season with the 2016 Chiefs, who finished with a 12–4 record and clinched their division for the first time since 2010, as well as for the first time under Reid.[82] The Chiefs went undefeated against their AFC West rivals to secure the division title on a tiebreaker with the 12–4 Oakland Raiders and obtain a first-round bye in the playoffs as the AFC's second seed.[83] The bye was the Chiefs' first since 2003. Despite the team's regular-season success, the Chiefs were eliminated in the Divisional Round for a second consecutive year in an 16–18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the Chiefs were able to prevent the Steelers from scoring any touchdowns, they were unable to match the six field goals Pittsburgh converted.[84] The Chiefs started strong during the 2017 season, winning their first five games to become the NFL's last remaining undefeated team, including a victory against defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots in the kickoff game.[85][86] After their strong start, the Chiefs lost six of their next seven games, resulting in Reid conceding playcalling duties to offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Nevertheless, the Chiefs won their last four games to finish 10–6 and clinch the AFC West for a second consecutive year, the first back-to-back division titles in franchise history.[87] However, the team ultimately suffered a sixth consecutive home playoff loss in a 21–22 defeat against the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card Round. Despite holding a 21–3 lead at halftime, the Chiefs were shut out during the second half as the Titans scored 19 unanswered points to win the game.[88]
  5. Don't sign him. There's a distortion field around this guy that will undermine the dilithium crystals that make this ship run.
  6. Tucker's abilities as a journalist rival his abilities as an offensive lineman.
  7. This place was a continual complaint-fest when Daboll was OC. I remember specific goofy playcalls that got blasted. Runs from the shotgun were one of the things Daboll did all the time. Dorsey doesn't do it any more than Dabes did.
  8. I expect Davis to bounce back this season.
  9. I don't understand why teams keep paying huge money for what seem to me to be declining or over-the-hill players. It's like they're paying for the player the guy was five years ago. Seems terribly dumb to me.
  10. I think Lamar is not handling his situation well, and does not have an accurate assessment of where he stands in the league's hierarchy of QBs right now, but basing your argument against him on something you call "black athlete privilege" is not a good look.
  11. I've noticed that when somebody offers an overwhelmingly negative opinion they always label it the "truth." As if a positive opinion is automatically untrue.
  12. I can't remember seeing anybody here, even if they support McDermott, saying he is "invincible." It doesn't help your argument to mischaracterize those who disagree with you.
  13. In what possible way is this an unpopular opinion since it seems to be shared by half the people on the board?
  14. I attended my first Bills game in 1966. Though I don't know how old you are, I suspect I've suffered with this team for longer than you've been alive. I recognize that the team has problems--a person would have to be blind not to see that. Find a post anywhere here when I ever said anything even approaching the words you are putting in my mouth. Read what I wrote, not what you assume about me. I wish you the best. I'm not interested in fighting with you about any of this.
  15. I've been a member of this community since the very beginning, in 2001. Through the depths of the drought, I've never seen so much whining and anger and lashing out as what goes on daily on this board right now. Not everybody is guilty of this—there are a good number of eminently sane people who post here frequently—but the percentage of people acting like three-year-olds having temper tantrums is as high or higher than it has ever been. I went away for the last weeks since the loss to the Bengals thinking that of course people are going to act out their disappointment; it's natural, I thought, let them get it out of their system. But it's as bad this morning as ever. I've tried blocking the worst offenders but the list would be too long to comprehend at this point. If the Bills were to take one fifth of the hysterical suggestions that are made every hour on this board, they would be out of the playoffs for the next twenty years. I realize this is likely my problem, not yours. So I'm giving it a pass at least until the draft, and maybe until training camp. I hope some of you will get out of the house now and then and breathe some fresh air.
  16. You do you. Go for it. I'm not stopping you.
  17. Well said. In particular this: "For now, however, I think less than I used to about what went wrong and what needs to be fixed than in past years. I have developed a healthy respect for all of the things I don’t know about football, and I no longer can pretend that I see that one thing the Bills need to fix to get over the top. If it were easy enough for a guy sitting in his family room to figure that out, someone in Orchard Park would have done it already. " I've been avoiding this forum since the Cincy game because so many of the commenters here do not agree with this, and to read the angry back-and-forth that arises from those who are absolutely sure that they know who is to blame and how to fix it just wears me out. Thanks for posting this, and for your other comments throughout the season. Go Bills!
  18. Whining about Chis Collinsworth is tedious in the extreme. Just watch the darn game.
  19. Flores is a good coach who got screwed by Miami.
  20. I see absolutely noting objectionable in this video. It's just a team that, rightly, is confident in itself—they have to have an attitude, some degree of arrogance, to win. The Bills are absolutely no different.
  21. At the very least, when the opposing team gets the ball in field goal position, you would be insane to grumble about the defense allowing a field goal. To say nothing about touchdowns scored by the other team's defense.
