  1. Does a loss count less if a rookie flubs it up? I admit I'm a little persnickity today and down on Zay. I'm just really tired of losing games we should win. Even if the guys tried really hard and a rookie in his second game dropped the pass. We didn't lose because we didn't have talent, or coaching, or bad Gatorade. We lost because when it really counted and we really needed it, we fugged up. No one stepped up. That needs to change.
  2. In SB XXV Norwood almost made one HELL of a FG.
  3. It's been the Crux of the biscuit throughout this whole drought. Losing close games we should win. I could probably come up with at least 10 off the top of my head. Dallas 2008 at the Ralph Pittsburgh Sunday Patsies** home opener 2013 A Jets road game where SJ dropped one late Patsies** in the Leodis muff fest Seahawks 2016 when we had 1st and goal for the win Clowns at the Ralph on MNF (missed FG) Jacksonville in London At Oakland 2014 The difference between the Fish making playoffs last year and us was they won OT games vs us and Clowns. Meanwhile we lose to them with 10 men on field and lose to Hawks because we couldn't put it in and whatever we did vs Jets. I was hoping Coach McDermott and his "culture" and "earning to win" stuff could turn this around, yet 2 games in here we are. As former Bills HC Hank Bullock said "We keep beating ourselves, but we're getting better at it."
  4. But if Zay caught it and SH makes the kick we would have had 10. Is that enough? I remember one season when Marv was still coach we won 2 games one year 9-6. Sweet wins iirc. I got the stupid comment. Thus the smiley face . I just beg to differ.
  5. You win if you score more than the other team. There's no magic number you have to get before you "deserve" to win, whatever that means. Zay comes down with that football and rolls into EZ, we not only would have "deserved" to win, we would have. You don't be stupid.
  6. Except this time he did. He put the football on the WRs hands on the 1 yard line on 4th and 11. What does he have to do? Gift wrap it for Zay? Could be argued he had come through in 2 out of his last 3 games.
  7. No. It depends on how many points the other team gets. I'd take 19-0 with all 3-2 games if I could get it.
  8. We'll see. He's dropped 4 so far and I'm scratching my head to think of any good catches he's made. It was absolutely a drop. I don't really care if it was a bad pattern or if it was a bad throw. When the football hits you in the hands with no defenders in sight and you don't catch it, it's a drop. This isn't Saturday afternoon beer league flag football. This is the bigs. You gotta catch that. Zay made harder catches in the Senior Bowl.
  9. They would never do that. We wouldn't want to wake up to a mushroom cloud now would we? SH has tubes to make nukes and has (fake) uranium. He is within weeks, not months of having a nuke. The commies blew up our ship in the Gulf of Tonkin.
  10. I don't understand what's up with Zay. 3 or 4 drops in 2 games. I thought he was supposed to be Joe Hands. He made harder catches than the ones he's dropping for us in the Senior Bowl.
  11. Partly not throwing as many long passes.
  12. Nasty Nate can't start yet because he hasn't completed "the Process". That's what Coach McDermott says anyway.
  13. THIS is the downside to bend but don't break stategy. When your D bends on the other side of the field and finally stops them around mid field or later, you end up with bad field position frequently. The answer of course would be for the O to play better.
  14. I don't buy the we don't have WRs to throw long to. ThRowing long is more than putting a track athlete out there and letting him out run the DB. Zay was able to get wide open 30 yards downfield. How long do you need? Speed isn't the only way to get a guy long open. You can also use trickery and send guys long when isolated on a LB. I see other teams do it.
  15. What did we hear and see from Zay when we drafted him? The kid can catch anything. He made harder catches than this in the Senior Bowl. So far he's had 3 drops in 2 games. I hope he can pull out of this and start catching the freakin' football. We can't afford a WR that drops passes on 3rd and 4th down, both of which he did in the game Sunday.
  16. Maybe about as long as last time we pissed away a good D with a bad O (2013-2014) or as long as we pissed away a good O with a bad D (2015-2016).
  17. Thanks Trump. Wrooooooooooooong It's the QBs job to put the football on the receivers hands. It's the receivers job to catch it when it hits his hands. Are you saying that pass was too hard for poor little ole Zay to catch?
  18. Would you feel better if he said the pass was too hard for him to catch?
  19. True. It's disturbing that the guy known for having great hands in college has dropped 3 passes in the first 2 games. Maybe my expectations were too high. He is a rookie after all.
  20. This is so true. It had been the Hallmark of the drought. Losing close winnable games because non one steps up. SJ vs Pitt. 10 men on the field when we need a stop. Missed FGs. Tuel Time vs Cheaps. On and on and on. I was hoping this culture and process thing might fix it. So far, looks like more of the same. Somebody needs to step up in games like this, but no one did.
  21. I think it's more that any professional NFL WR knows that when the football hits him in the hands, he's supposed to catch it regardless of which shoulder it's over etc. What would it say about him if he said the pass was too hard to catch (it wasn't)?
  22. I think he was supposed to catch it when it hit him in the hands.
  23. I thought that's why we drafted him? Dude catches everything, or so we thought I guess.
  24. What exactly is so bad about it?
  25. Yeah we know blah blah blah
