I'm gonna disagree with this and here's why.
A better plan would get to try to build up a good team around QB and then when you can get that golden armed Franchise QB, you plug him in and go. That's what the Saints did. They were pretty much a little .500 with Brooks or whoever it was at QB for a few years. Then they traded for Brees and ere ready.
The Seahawks did pre much the same. Floated at 7-9 with Tarvaris Jackson for a couple of years while they acquired talent like Earl, Sherman, Sidney Rice etc.. Then RW shows up and it was off to the races.
Doing as you suggest would result in something like the Houston Texans with David Carr.
This happens every year and is ridiculous. Like so many things these days it's got to be one or the other. Either you're a CoT or a CoP (Cathedral of Peterpan).
I'm a Bills fan. I want what's best for the Bills to win in 2017. If that's Hotrod, then go Hotrod and I'll cheer Mightily for him. If Nasty Nate gets in I hope he plays like Drew Brees and we win out.
This religious QB arguing is silly IMHO.
GO BILLS !!
I'd gladly move on if I thought we had anyone better. I have no interest however in putting someone in just to "see what they can do".
I have a feeling the coaches know what he can do which is why he isn't starting (yet?).
They've also been pretty much my words as well. He has made some really nice passes but he's also made quite a few blunders and horrid passes. Give him some time. While somewhat promising, he's got a lot of work to do.
I liked when Beane said pretty much the same thing.
We go through this with every new QB we get. I remember threads comparing Trent Edwards to Joe Montana and calling for Tuel Time to start. Even EJ was hailed as the bees knees after his first few pre season games.
RELAX
He didn't ALMOST fumble, he did on our own 5 yard line.
He did a good job to fight for it and get it back however. That almost pick was really close.
The kid doesn't handle pressure well at the moment. Hopefully that's one of the things he's going to learn in "the process".
I don't know if they are getting cut, but Hawks I'd consider if they are.
Williams, WR, #18. Made a lot of good catches in PS.
Austin Davis, QB. Played very well in PS including a game winning TD late. Much better than Yates
I'm not with you.
It's a free country. You can do what you want. I'm a veteran. Military protects our freedom, right? Honor a vet by doing what you want. Standing for the national anthem is NOT a loyalty pledge. Should it be?
The only problem I have with it is making a big deal out of it.

Do the math. 81 - 59 = 22. So the other 4 completions were for 22 yards.
Are we really going to argue about if he throws long passes or not?
