  1. Actually not. He hit guys exactly as often as not. 10 for 20 to be exact. IT WAS A PRACTICE GAME. Hotrod working on new stuff in a new Offense. I play drums and sometimes I sound horrible practicing because I'm working on what I'm not good at. That's what you do when practicing, even if it is a PRACTICE GAME. Some of y'all sound like this is your first rodeo.
  2. As evidenced by 52% and 50% respectively the first 2 games.
  3. It was a practice game. When practicing, it's good to work on things that need improvement.
  4. AND he only completes about 1/2 of them Doesn't matter though. The new QB that never plays is always the most popular guy on the team. Been that way for a long as I can remember.
  5. We don't even know what the offense he WILL be running is. One thing is for certain. It WON'T he what we're running in PS. The coaches obviously think he can run what they want to, otherwise he'd be outta here already.
  6. Hmm. Sounds like Jim Kelly. When I hear Blake Bortles I think of when he was on Gruden QB Camp. Gruden sez "Blake Bortles. What kind of name is that? Can you say it 5 times fast?". And, he did. Until this mythical golden armed franchise QB actually plays on a roster full of scrubs and rookies and throws a few picks.
  7. So at least Hotrod is better than somebody!LOL
  8. In the Bill Bellyache era the Fish and Jets have both made playoffs twice. If it weren't for Leodis Jets would have 3. We have no excuse. Just win.
  9. Speaking of excuses. Remember after the first 3 games of the suspension media and fans were saying Patsies** could win with Helen Keller at QB. Then we ship their ass and it's oh, we had our 3rd string QB. LOL
  10. One thing is for certain. Whatever we're doing in PS, we will NOT be doing that one the real games start.
  11. Any else concerned about Nate's accuracy besides Alhadawg and I? 52% and 50% in the first 2 games respectively. All of yall that think we can lose on purpose to get the golden armed Franchise QB and then turn the winning back on should consider a quote from Vince Lobardi - "Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing."
  12. Nasty Nate does some nice work. Makes some good plays. My concern is with his accuracy. 52% and 50% for the first 2 games. Reading the field and all that is nice, but you gotta put the football in there consistently.
  13. Trade him to Jacksonville. Seems like the kind of QB Marrone would like.
  14. I don't know that I would say we don't get much out of it. You just gotta go in with the proper expectation. Although after months and months of baseball, it looks, sounds, and even kind of smells like real football. BUT ITS HOT!! Whatever we do on offense will NOT be what we do in regular season.
  15. I saw the game. Bad news for him he going against Hawks. I don't know what Pete dies, but he gets his guy super psyched up for PS. Guys were flying around. But yeah, he looked bad. At first I didn't know who he was because the Seattle announcer was calling him Kordell Jones. Once he said they got home from Buffalo I figured it out.
  16. How did you record this? Is that the original vocals sampled or do you just know someone that sings like that? Good job and thanks for sharing .
  17. Thanks for the education . Kerry was legit even if he was 38 years old.
  18. I'm a Hotrod guy, but I don't "see the difference" in his ability to perform in cunch time. That's what separates the men from the boys. He MUST do better this year. I'm willing to give him another chance. Hotrod, don't let me down! Someone mentioned QBs percentage of if the team wins or not. I put it at at least 40%. Everybody has to do thier job, but QB touches the football on every play and had total control of where it goes. Goodwin was open in the EZ in the last Fish game the play before the missed FG for instance. He hits him we win. Goodwin and everyone else did their job. Hotrod needs to do his in situations like that.
  19. Stupid penalties are by no means unique to the Ryan era. We've been doing for several regimes back. Hopefully our new coach and "culture" can put an end to that. I would like to see: 1st team offense score some friggin' points. Yates play at least to game manager level so we have a legit backup should Hotrod get injured. Starting D to play well like last week. Stopping the run and getting pressure. Boldin. Hotrod hitting 3step drop back passes like he did last week. No missed FGs. Taiwan Jones actually do something good unlike his multiple blunders last week. Run a couple of power sweeps at Darby. SAMMY - OK, I'm dreaming ...
  20. Me too. I saw Jerry reaking have on Bradford and several blitzes. Starting D looked good IMHO. STOPPING The run. Refreshing.
  21. Whaley did a good job with getting us good players. The talent level now is light years ahead of the Gailey era teams. he had a knack for finding unknown guys to be real contributors. I remember in that Packers win at the Ralph, he brought in Rambo and Marquees Gray (who?) who had huge impact on the win.
  22. Great idea. Throw the kid to the wolves. Did wonders for EJ's game. If Nasty Nate is your guy, it would be better if he didn't see any action unless Hotrod and Yates (or whoever) gets injured.
  23. Colts could have scoured the waiver wire for someone better than Curtis Painter for crying out loud. OR, they could have traded for someone like the Vikings did last year. Tanking was By no means thrust upon them IMHO. But it is the only one I can think of and now it's overall effectiveness is in doubt. Usually tanking is pitched as setting you up for 15 years, not as a short term patch. At the moment, Suck for Luck appears to be just that. We'll see.
  24. Do you know the Hawks went 7-9 2 years in a row before they made the playoffs? They didn't have to be the worst to be the best. Or to get their "franchise QB". The Saints didn't either. Nor did the Steelers or Patsies** for that matter. There's more than 1 way to skin a cat. An early pick is also not a golden ticket. Most of those guys suck too.
  25. Are guys like Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan born with these abilities? They NEVER had to learn them? Even in high school or peewee football? How exactly do you know they CAN'T be learned or improved on? If it's a hunch, that's cool. But you type it like it's a fact. Which is it?
