  1. I'm a Hotrod guy, but I don't "see the difference" in his ability to perform in cunch time. That's what separates the men from the boys. He MUST do better this year. I'm willing to give him another chance. Hotrod, don't let me down! Someone mentioned QBs percentage of if the team wins or not. I put it at at least 40%. Everybody has to do thier job, but QB touches the football on every play and had total control of where it goes. Goodwin was open in the EZ in the last Fish game the play before the missed FG for instance. He hits him we win. Goodwin and everyone else did their job. Hotrod needs to do his in situations like that.
  2. Stupid penalties are by no means unique to the Ryan era. We've been doing for several regimes back. Hopefully our new coach and "culture" can put an end to that. I would like to see: 1st team offense score some friggin' points. Yates play at least to game manager level so we have a legit backup should Hotrod get injured. Starting D to play well like last week. Stopping the run and getting pressure. Boldin. Hotrod hitting 3step drop back passes like he did last week. No missed FGs. Taiwan Jones actually do something good unlike his multiple blunders last week. Run a couple of power sweeps at Darby. SAMMY - OK, I'm dreaming ...
  3. Me too. I saw Jerry reaking have on Bradford and several blitzes. Starting D looked good IMHO. STOPPING The run. Refreshing.
  4. Whaley did a good job with getting us good players. The talent level now is light years ahead of the Gailey era teams. he had a knack for finding unknown guys to be real contributors. I remember in that Packers win at the Ralph, he brought in Rambo and Marquees Gray (who?) who had huge impact on the win.
  5. Great idea. Throw the kid to the wolves. Did wonders for EJ's game. If Nasty Nate is your guy, it would be better if he didn't see any action unless Hotrod and Yates (or whoever) gets injured.
  6. Colts could have scoured the waiver wire for someone better than Curtis Painter for crying out loud. OR, they could have traded for someone like the Vikings did last year. Tanking was By no means thrust upon them IMHO. But it is the only one I can think of and now it's overall effectiveness is in doubt. Usually tanking is pitched as setting you up for 15 years, not as a short term patch. At the moment, Suck for Luck appears to be just that. We'll see.
  7. Do you know the Hawks went 7-9 2 years in a row before they made the playoffs? They didn't have to be the worst to be the best. Or to get their "franchise QB". The Saints didn't either. Nor did the Steelers or Patsies** for that matter. There's more than 1 way to skin a cat. An early pick is also not a golden ticket. Most of those guys suck too.
  8. Are guys like Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan born with these abilities? They NEVER had to learn them? Even in high school or peewee football? How exactly do you know they CAN'T be learned or improved on? If it's a hunch, that's cool. But you type it like it's a fact. Which is it?
  9. I saw an interesting quote from Charles Clay after practice yesterday which runs contrary to what we frequently hear from the QB experts on TBD. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Top-3-things-to-know-from-Day-14-at-Bills-Camp/7cce62c2-5156-4540-bf23-97f4f80a8ac9 Clay knows best.
  10. Don't forget the high motor guys. Yes, but he's had 4 coaches in 4 years.
  11. Alex Smith would get best QB we've had since at least Flutie. Do y'all ever watch him play? Giants no longer wanted Kurt Warner but he was Arizona's saviour. Nobody wanted Gannon yet he was Oakland's savior. It happens.
  12. I hope not, but then again we didn't think Marrone would ruin our offense or Rex demolish our defense. From what I hear, they want to pass more and change up the run game. We'll see. Go BILLS !!
  13. That's what Terry said about Rex. Whaley convinced him to hire Rex? Rex convinced him to hire Rex when he watched the 2014 Super Bowl with Terry and Kim at thier house.
  14. I'd give them Ragland and thier pick back for Alex.
  15. I have no idea, but Beane had been tossing out some head scratchers lately. Like this on. And when he said the plan was not to trade Sammy, but some teams called and him and he listened. The Rams bowled him over with a 2nd and a mediocre at best CB. Not sure if that passes the sniff test. Obviously these trades were worked out together.
  16. What? Are we running the wishbone this year. If anything coaches say is accurate, we will be passing more this year, not less.
  17. How about we build a team to beat the Patsies** BEFORE Bill Bellyache retires.
  18. In other words you don't know and are making it up. He sure did help out Kyle Orton however.
  19. I'd make this trade in 1/100th of a New York heartbeat. Y'all are nuts. Last year in 15 games he threw 15 TDs vs 8 picks. 3500+ yards. 67.1 % and 91.2 rate. When I watch him play I see a very smart QB that can also beat you with the run. He's not sexy or flashy, he just wins. He'd look great in a Bills suit. No way in heck Andy Reed dumps him for a rook though. He's not stupid.
  20. I disagree. If you have an average QB AND still want to win, the best thing to do is surround him with good WRs instead of muddling along until that golden armed franchise QB.
  21. They were allegedly tanking in 2015 with Fitz at QB. It took a Leodis pick in the EZ to keep them out of the PLAYOFFS.
  22. Then we get every tankers dream, 2 1st round picks.
  23. Please tell us how much the Bills were going to offer and what Sammy's walk away price is? Evidently you know. Why is it so important that we give up a years production to get "something" for Sammy? We got nothing for Woods, Gillislee, Hogan, Fitz, Robey, Gilnore, Fred, Byrd, Nigel, Mario ... That's what happens most of the time. Deal with it. I don't own a Sammy jersey and I HATE the trade. Besids, it's still a Bills jersey. Wear it with pride as I do my EJ, Mario, Rob Johnson, and Flutie jerseys. Go BILLS !!!
  24. I disagree with the "not contending" part. We might. We won 7 games last year with a coach that didn't even know how many men to put on the field. The Fish made the playoffs last year after a dreadful season with a rookie HC. I don't see why it's out of the realm of possibility we can do that.
  25. I would agree IF we traded for ONLY draft picks and not guys who had success in the NFL previously.
