  1. Do you guys realize that "fan" is short for "fanatic"? Yup. Thats right. It is defined as: a person filled with excessive single-minded zeal. The optimism then, if obvious, because that is what "fans" bring. If you are so tired of the Bills, thats fine and you have every right to be, but please take your poison elsewhere, because us fans want to have excitement about our team.
  2. Tim Tebow doesn't know what a piece of her or any female is like...c'mon guys, we all know Timmy is waiting for marriage...
  3. Spoiler Alert: The Giants won.
  4. I am all about Pass Rush. That, in my opinion, fixes so many problems with our defense. I believe that KW and MD in the middle of the 4 man front D-Line will be able to significantly upgrade our run D. I like Sheppard in the Middle, and I like Barnett on the Weak Side. I think we need to figure out if the combination of Moats, White, Batten, and Merriman can be serviceable at the Strong Side LB. I would be shocked if the Bills didn't grab the best 43 DE at 10th in April. I would be shocked if one our 2nd or 3rd round picks is not a CB. I think that McGee is done, which is sad because he is a good player, but he just can't do it anymore. I think Williams is going to be a terrific player. I think we need Rogers, McKelvin, and Florence to have some real competition with a rookie who will challenge to be on the field. Additionally, if we are going to pick a corner in round 2 or 3, then whichever one don't had better be a speedy WR. I don't care if the guy can catch or not, we just need to stretch the field. He'll catch some of them. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut...
  5. Maybe Trent and JP could go and compete for the job. Perhaps Dick Jouron wants to be the head coach?
  6. If coach had put in back in '73, we'd have taken state! I'll played club football in college...you want me?
  7. I think we need to have some consistency. Football players need that in order to be successful because they are, by and large, creatures of habit. We have not had consistency at the head coaching position for several tenures in Buffalo. I, personally, like the steps the team has taken under Gailey. They are at least watchable and for the most part competitive. Yes, they still have to improve in several areas, but I like where they are headed. In my opinion firing Chan after next season if they don't make the playoffs would be a bad move for this franchise. If they go 2-14, then thats a different story, but if they hit 8-8 or 9-7, I think you have to stay the course. With all of the upheaval throughout the 2000's, we knew this was not going to be an overnight fix, especially when Chan and Buddy said they were going to build through the draft. If we draft well, which I think we have, and we push forward, we'll be hitting our stride right around the time Brady is getting near the end. Consistency. Pure and simple.
  8. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bills grabbed a top flight WR at 10 if the top rated D-ends are already off the board. I think its Plan A = Pass Rush, Plan B = WR, Plan C = Sit on the pick till we decide, so we'll draft 15th without trading back! LOL
  9. Andy Dalton is equal to Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. Yup They won superbowls...with excellent Defenses and a "Don't Lose this game for us" message from a rabid linebacker on their own team (Derrick Brooks and Ray Lewis).
  10. This! World Beater and future Perennial Pro-Bowler regardless Position, Mike Jasper should play all offensive and defensive positions at once! C'mon guys!!! We saw a youtube video of him working out!!!!!
  11. Yes, thats true. However, I think a lot of reasoning behind that is that those particular running backs carried their teams on Offense, Defense and Special teams in High School, and on Offense in College, and then again in the NFL. The Running back in question on the Bills, was never that player. He was a backup in high school and played at a DIII school which to me sounds like considerably less pounding, if only from the smaller players hitting him. After the DII he played in a minor league Arena game and finally in NFL Europe before being a 3rd team player for the Bills for a few years before he finally got his chance about 3-4 years ago, but really wasnt featured until this year. My point is that I believe that Fred has at least 4 more good years in him because he hasn't taken the same pounding as a guy like Tomlinson did by the time he was 30.
  12. WEO, I said "He likely would have had a chance to be healthy enough to play," not that he is, but that there would have been a chance. Please don't twist it to take away from the meaning of the post. Regardless, he deserved the honor of being selected. If he could or could not play is not the point. The point is that he was having a Pro Bowl type season it was taken away because of being placed on IR. Matt Forte should have the same problem. kota, He was on the Ballot for a few games prior to being on IR and a few games afterwards.
  13. So, Mark Rypien was a "Franchise Quarterback?" And Brad Johnson? And Trent Dilfer? I know its only three, but it leads me to believe that if you got a guy in a system that works, you can win it all. Its a team game. Not a Quarterback and 52 other blokes.
  14. Folks, I am upset by this. Fred Jackson was removed from the Pro Bowl Ballot when he was placed on season ending IR. He was disappointed and rightfully so. He likely would have had a chance to be healthy enough to play in an all-star game that he deserved to play in. He was having a great season and was near the top, if not the top, in votes from the AFC for Running Backs. Matt Forte also ended the season on IR for the Bears. He was cleared by doctors and will be playing in the Pro Bowl this weekend. He also had a great season and deserves to play in the game, but if a rule applies to one player then it should apply to all players. If "Season Ending Injured Reserve" removes from the season, and therefore the Pro Bowl, then so be it. But it should not be at the discretion of the League who this applies to and who it does not. I sent Chris Brown of buffalobills.com an email about this and his response was that he could not find and answer and would send an email to the League. Additionally, I sent tweets to Adam Schefter and ProFootballTalk, and got no response. The only thing I can think of that would lend any sort of answer is the time of the injury in relation to the end of the season, but obviously, this makes no sense regardless. If anyone has some insight, that would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Listen, at least this Sanborn guy has yet to make a fatal mistake like that Trey Junkin did for the Giants in the early 2000's. So we got that going for us...which is good. Oh, and uh, Lama! How about something, ya know, for the effort?
  16. The way to build experienced depth is to have the "depth" play. They played this year. So next year we'll have more experienced depth. In the NFL depth is depth. If you are back-up for one team you are probably a back-up/borderline starter for another, so I am going to call depth depth. Experience is what helps "depth" become better.
  17. I would love to get McNutt in the draft. I was really surprised to see him at 18 for his position. I really think he will be an above average pro WR. He would be a great pick for the Bills. I liked Nick Toon a lot too. I thought he was terrific. We'll see. Hopefully they'll get somebody to challenge Jones and Easley for the spot next to Stevie, assuming he re-signs.
  18. People need to understand that a ball does not have to travel 20 yards in the air to have a 20+ yard play. If we had a decent receiver opposite Stevie that could make a play with the ball like Nicks and Cruz do for Eli then we wouldn't have to worry so much about going "deep" to our 3rd string QB. To the OP: Love this thread and the Numbers you put together. I don't know what all that means either. Actually, I think it means that QBs get too much credit for Wins and too much Blame for Losses. Its a team game. Not a "1+10 other dudes" game.
  19. I wouldnt even offer him anything. He can't stay on the field. During the rare occasions when he is on the field he doesn't add that much to our team. He is a wasted roster spot. See ya Roscoe. You were OK.
  20. People complain when the FO at OBD does things like this, yet we post about it doing it all the time... Draft McGahee when we have Henry, Trade McGahee to draft Lynch, Draft CJ when we have Lynch and Jackson, letting Jabari go to draft Leodis, cutting Leodis to draft Kirkpatrick, on and on...Its maddening.
  21. Larry Fitzgerald had 4 more catches and 1 more Td than Stevie, he also had 400 more yards than Stevie. AJ Green had 11 FEWER catches than Stevie and 53 more yards. Tds were equal. Andre Johnson was hurt most of this season, and Calvin Johnson is not human, so I won't compare him to Stevie.
  22. People say that we need a "true" #1 WR, what does that mean? Please keep it objective. The subjective things like "Doesn't get 15 yard demonstration penalties" don't count. T.O. got tons of those, or is the reason players get them now, and he was a #1 WR in his prime, right? Fire Away.
  23. I would like Jackson, but I would prefer Bowe. I think Bowe has more overall talent. I would really like to see us draft Floyd from Notre Dame. I think he will be a really good WR in the NFL.
  24. I cannot believe how quick we are to drop Fitz. He was playing great when he had all the pieces around him, both on the offense and on the defense. We are committed to him for 6 seasons. He will be our Quarterback for at least 4 of those. We have way to many needs to address before we draft Fitz's replacement. As we have learned, Nix is capable of finding guys who can play right now in the NFL as Rookies the whole way through the draft. Dareus, Williams, Sheppard, Rogers, Hairston, Searcy all looked good while they were in the games. Yes they need to improve, as all rookies need to do, but NIx can find guys who can play. We need to address the real problems with this team in the draft which are Pass Rush and WR. We need another good swing tackle, and we need a back-up center. We might take a flier on a guy in the 7th, like we did with Jasper, but we will not be drafting Fitz's replacement in this draft.
