The Needs and the Candidates
The Cincinnati Kid replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like I read that Wanny plays a zone based coverage scheme for the DBs, which means I want guys with ball skills and instincts to make quick diagnosis of plays and then PBUs or INTs. If thats the case, then I am all about getting Gilmore at 10 because, IMO, he and Williams with Florence, McKelvin and McGee would be nearly impossible to pass against, and that isn't even mentioning Wilson, Byrd and Rogers (Who showed flashes last year). I still think the most talented guy on the board at 10 will be Floyd, but the closer we get to Thursday, the less likely I am convinced it will be Floyd that Nix selects. I think it will come down to Kuechly or Gilmore, and from there it will be based on their evaluations of Kirk Morrison, Kelvin Sheppard, and Terrence McGee. Its an exciting time...this snowy April day... -
he was a monster against the run for us last season. hopefully the surgery gave him his burst back. his strength was never an issue imo.

fantasy Football: Spiller vs. Fredex
The Cincinnati Kid replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really think Tashard Choice is the guy, in terms of Fantasy Points from this years crop of Bills' running backs. I mean, c'mon guys, isn't that obvious? -
When i first watched it several hours ago, i thought the reaction by the guys was different. I just watched it again. Whaley immediately turned and looked to Cook. A small smile on his face before they move the camera. It was not a "this is our guy and I'll blow this if I talk" smile. It was a "cake-eater" grin from Mighty Ducks. Buddy, as only Buddy can do, said "I saw him, but I don't wanna talk about him." AKA - I watched and it was whatever. Cook seemed like he was the guy who scouted him the most, and said some complimentary things about a young man who the Bills have little to no interest in drafting. Just my opinion based on what I saw.

Listening to Buddy today regarding LT...
The Cincinnati Kid replied to Cheddar's Dad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those were my thoughts exactly. -
The fact that Spiller started some games at WR last year make the pick excellent. The guy is versatile in a scheme where players with versatility are needed. I am happy with the Spiller pick and I think that with him and Fred, we will have an excellent rushing attack again this season.

I have to say that I rewatched a few of the bills games from last season and was really impressed with donald jones' ability to get past DBs on go patterns. He is raw, for sure, but he was beating DBs and making some catches. Maybe with a healthy ankle he can repeat that. After watching those games, I was ready to give my hopes of drafting Floyd (which doesn't look like it was an option anyway). My new hope is Marvin McNutt in the middle rounds. I was really impressed with his game when i watched his college games.

Wow. I felt the same way after watching Gabbert play last season. I was not as high on him in the pre-draft, however. Honestly, his play did not surprise me in the least. I thought he was a guy similar to Jimmy Clausen. Gabbert was a 2nd to 3rd round guy who got people fooled with his size, combine, and likely his interviews. This was a bad pick for Jax, made worse when they let Garrard go in the preseason. Gabbert might have been ready to take the helm this season after sitting last season, but he has the look of a guy who will never recover from last year. Its too bad for him and for Jags. I'm glad we didn't draft him.

1st Round Pick comes down to BPA
The Cincinnati Kid replied to BuffFromBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless, its the same agent! No, even if it is the same agent, he still still has that thought process. -
Dallas Trade Down Scenario
The Cincinnati Kid replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We traded up into the front of the 2nd for Poz. -
While I agree that they probably won't pick Floyd because he did not make a visit to OBD, W.C. is right for pointing out that they might have gotten everything they need from him from the Combine. We can't rule anything 100% out until the pick is come and gone. Until then, I say there is a 15% chance we draft Floyd.

A.B.T for success in the 2012 NFL Draft
The Cincinnati Kid replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am on the ABT Team. I really don't want a guy who looks like a career backup IMO. I want Floyd, but he didn't visit, so that leaves me at Gilmore who I think is a stud, and Keuchly who I also think is a stud. I don't think any of the tackles except Kahlil and Reiff are worth the 10, Kahlil will be taken, and Reiff didn't visit. I will be very upset with Cordy Glenn because he is a Guard or RT, I mean, lets call a spade a spade. Also, Martin is interesting, but I see all these Stanford guys getting love, and I wonder who they played against. I am not seeing too many big time defenders coming out from other Pac-12 schools, soo.... I dunno. We'll see. Not Tennehill though. Please. -
I might be moving to the Treasure Coast in Florida, so if that works out I'll be at the game in Miami. Only about a 2-3 hours drive from where I'll be (Hopefully).

Run defense and the draft
The Cincinnati Kid replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think moving to a 4-3 defense will help this team. We never had the players for a 3-4. It was a square-peg-into-a-round-hole kinda deal. Having Dareus and Williams up the middle in a playmaking role, rather than an eat-up-blockers role will help just by itself. Additionally, with M. Williams, Merriman, Kelsay, Anderson, Barnett and Morrison setting the edge and keeping contain on the outside to funnel everything back inside or string plays to the boundary will help as well. All that being said, I love Keuchly and think he'd be a great player for the Bills. We need LBs that can play multiple positions and cover, so I would all for taking him at 10. -
NFL and Bills Schedule
The Cincinnati Kid replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure Jim Nantz said on CBS's golf coverage this past weekend that the NFL Schedule will be released tomorrow. -

Post Draft Anaylsis
The Cincinnati Kid replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for stating that. I come to this site hundreds of times a week and rarely open any threads because at this time of year its monotonous. Not anyone's fault, it just is what it is. You're right, all we can do is hope Buddy and his guru's are on target and we'll know after the 2014 season if they were. This is a big year for Carrington, Moats, Batten, Troup, and hopefully Easley. After this season we can really see what they are. -
Bob Matthews to Retire - Roche D&C
The Cincinnati Kid replied to todd's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stopped reading the D&C because of Matthews. I won't miss him and his asinine writing. Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you on your way out. -
Great Post. This is something logical to add to this thread as well as all the ones about Fitz. Completely agree. Well said.
