  1. Haha! my bad, although that may explain why I get my ass handed to me in Black Jack every time I go to Vegas. I am a banker but I never said I was a good banker.
  2. I have actually been watching what I eat & trying to cut down on the drinking since this whole mess started. Been walking a ton. Figure might as well lose some weight in this whole mess. But.....since this maybe the only live sporting event we get to see until further notice, I decided to go on a nice 3 day bender. Going to cook a pizza on grill tonight, deep fry some wings tomorrow & grab myself a few lobster tails & ribeyes Saturday. Also I am going to drink as many beers as humanly possible. Starts for me as soon as I log off of work at 4 this afternoon. Looking forward to it BTW, I never realized what a degenerate gambler I am until it has been taken away from me. I feel like a loss soul with nothing to gamble on. I may do something I never do & throw some bets on the draft tonight.
  3. I know I have told you this before but I love your setup, well done sir! That is a gambling man's paradise, 6 screens on one wall, I love it. Enjoy with the little guy & the Mrs. tonight.
  4. If I am Miami I sit tight at five & hopes Tua drops to me. They are not in a position to give up valuable draft picks. They have to really accelerate this rebuild if they nail this draft. They getting either Tua or Herbert, one of them will be there. Both picks come with risks. Let the draft come to you. Stick at 5.
  5. I could only tell you about the 2 years our sons played together and Chris was nothing but a gentleman, pretty good soccer player/coach also. He used to help out a lot at the practices. He was pretty candid when I would ask him about the Bills. He was always very interesting to talk too.
  6. This. He was over drafted & really benefitted from being in the worst QB class to come out in years. He wasn't really a QB at FSU, he was a receiver/athlete trying to play the QB position. The comparison to Allen as far as athletic ability as far as the QB position is concerned is laughable. It is not close. My son used to play soccer with Chris Brown's son & I asked Chris the night before the draft at one of the boys game which way the bills were going & he said " I keep hearing that the bills like Manuel." I just said "oh god." & he said "I know, I hope it is a smoke screen."
  7. Great Point, you know what breeds an unstable health situation too is poverty. I don't think some people the trickle down effect of keeping things shut down. The health system will collapse if this shutdown continues. Who is going to pay these hospital bills when there will be 50 million people without job/no health insurance. State Governments will collapse too, without tax revenue. When that happens things get cut & not little things, things like police presence and such. It won't be safe to leave your house anymore & may not even be safe in your house. People that want to shut this country down until there is a vaccine or until there are no more case just don't understand how economics and this country work. It is all about risk/reward. Most people are going to chose to live their lives and take the risks. The damage down to this economy is going to take years to recover as it is now, the longer this lock down goes on the more permanent damage their will be. Hopefully they will get some reliable treatments and this will be nothing more than a minor inconvienance in the near future.
  8. You want to shut down the economy for a year or more? Better get a gun buddy, a big one. You want see a country that has 50/60% unemployment rate because I guaranty that is what will happen if the economy is shut down that long. Nothing will be safe, poverty will reign & the health care system will truly be overrunned since noone could afford health care. How do you expect the hospitalsd to even be opened or staffed under your scenario. & there is noway they could possibly know right now the long term effects right now. Most of the country will be opened up next month, unless there is an unexpected spike. You could stay in your house for 2 years, see how that works out for you. Not necessarily, sports brings in a ton of revenue. Just think how much they lose if the super bowl cancels. I read an article the NCAA is willing to start there season in January if they have but they will have a season. They pretty much said they can't afford not to, especially have losing a billion + by cancelling the tournaments.
  9. How do they know that it is 10xs more deadly without sufficient testing? Some experts think that 25-50% of the people with the virus are a symptomatic. This means they probably never got tested. Wouldn't that lower the death rate % significantly?
  10. Don't mind the pessimists, they act like they have all the answers & their voice is final deciding factor. Once this will be all over, and I think it will be over or at least contained soon, there will be a portion of society that choses to be holed up in the ir house, even after the CDC states it is safe to go out. The world will go by them but it is their choice. Good thought out post.
  11. What about the cases that never get tested & recover. Wouldn't that lower the death %? Your statement makes no sense.
  12. I find it funny that anybody that posts stuff that is optimistic about the virus is blowing hot air but the doom and gloomers are all about facts. I posted a fact that projected models were not only wrong, but criminally wrong. When NYC opens up, & believe me it will open up before the summer starts, are they going to shut down the subways? Not logistically possible. They haven't even shut down the subways now. Why can subways be open but sports can't. People like you think irrational. If you think this country could stay on lockdown thru the summer/fall your delusional. There will be nothing left of the economy & the politicians know this.
  13. Although I do agree with most of this, the models were the driving factor in the shutdown & those models did not come from the white house, they came from medical universities all over the country, & they were wrong. The white house used these models. One of the doctors out west who had a big hand in the models said over the weekend things are getting better & the models were wrong, he did say social distancing had major factor on the models being too aggressive. Have some faith brother better days are ahead.
  14. What happens if this was blown way out of proportion? Have you ever consider that? Before you say I am crazy, what about the models we were fed for 3 straight weeks my the media. You know the models that said NYC 113,000 ICU beds & there is going to be 250K deaths & possibly up to a million. Those models were not even in the same stratosphere. NYC peaked at ICU beds at I believe 14K & the deaths I doubt they even hit 50K nationwide. And before say anything, I would like to tell you my dad is prime candidate for corona being lethal. He has COPD, recover from prostate cancer and is in remission for Leukemia. I worry about him everyday. So the situation is real for me. People are going to start realizing(if they haven't already) living in fear is noway to live & living in as a prisoner in your own home is no life. Today there are rallies scheduled in NC & Michigan protesting this shutdown. When it comes back, as virus often do, hopefully the healthcare system will be better prepared. I think they will. BTW, 40K medical people loss their jobs since this pandemic hit. he government justifying telling people in Nebraska or New Mexico they can't go about their everyday life when they probably have more of a chance dying in car accident on their way to work then dying from Corona Virus.
  15. Thank you, great post. The shear fear & manipulation by mainstream media, it is actually scary how easily society is influenced. There are a lot of underlying stories with this virus, and none of them have to do with medicine. The NFL has time. Do I think stadiums are going to be 30-40% in some cities due to fear of the virus, absolutely, but my guess is there will be football on time & with fans. For people who don't think so, let me ask you a question, when do you expect Disney World to reopen, I guaranty it will be before the summer starts.
  16. Agreed, there has been a noticeable difference in the amount of shoppers at wegmans the past two week. The place is pretty empty. As far as the Bills games I dropped my season tickets a few years ago. For the first time in probably 25 years I didn't attend one game last year but went to a couple tailgates and then had my wife pick me up & watched the game at home. With that being said, me, my son & two of my friends ought season tickets in February. I can't wait for the season to start & will be there if they allow it. I don't know, I got mixed feelings on this whole thing & I am interested to see this thing play out. Not going to go any farther than that since I got warning points last week about bringing in political views. I will say if they are not going to allow fans in the stands just cancel the season, or delay the season until it is reasonably safe to allow attendance. Same with College football. I know the president of ND said it is not going to work for college to have the games without fans & I agree with that.
  17. As a matter of fact he is. Not NYC but in another mid size city.
  18. MODERATOR Edited XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, I am not one to spew my political & moral views on message boards so I probably shouldn't of said that. I apologize.
  19. Good topic. Conspiracy theory, it was reported Ronnie Harmon had a serious gambling problem, even at his days in Iowa. One conspiracy he owed a lot of money to some very bad people in 1989 and got the alligator arms on that last throw to have Cleveland cover the game. The line was Bills +2.5 believe. Just one theory but an interesting one none the less.
  20. That is a good point. This has been just so abrupt & so quick. I was telling my wife every 10 years or so the country has to go thru some rough times and a recession is inevitable. I told her if I could survive this, the next recession we have I will be ready to retire. This one is scary though. The uncertainity of everything is crazy.
  21. What is your problem with Sal? The guy does a good job & he is a good listen. He played football back in his day, maybe not at the pro level but he knows what he is talking about. This is going to be such a fun year for Bills, we have been waiting a long time for this. I can't wait until the fall & I do agree if they got to push the schedule back they will but their is no way they are cancelling games. If they got to finish up in March they will. Every winter is different in WNY. I honestly shovelled maybe 3-4 times this year. & most of that came in late November/early December. This winter was not bad at all.
  22. I was 10 at the time & I wasn't a Bills fan yet as they were downright horrible back then. I remember my dad would listen to all the home games(as they were usually blacked out back then) on that little radio he had in the kitchen, drinking Gennie Crème Ale. I remember he got really emotional after that win & the wise ass 10 year old I was I told him " what do you care if they win, they still suck." He told me to go into my room and don't come out until the morning. I began to be a Bills fan 2 years later when they brought Kelly on board & saw some hope finally that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
  23. Secondary's as we well know as Bills fans is never a good situation when they are the strength of your team. They are hurting on both lines, the receivers stink & they have one of the biggest question marks at QB. It smells like a bottom five roster to me. Now, the equalizer is the hoodie, if he could get this team with the losses they have had into the playoffs this year he truly is a wizard.
  24. Meanwhile 31 million Americans have caught the flu this year & 30K people have died from it. My one friend has been a Pharmacist for 20 years. He has told this is a strong flu strain & it is downright criminal how the media has portrayed this. He also says once the tests results come in, he expects the death rate % to be similar of the flu or even less. Just one guys opinion, but I think when people look at this they need to keep these numbers in mind.
  25. Of course it is going to be higher, they are testing more. It only makes sense.
