  1. Last night's matchup, Indianapolis at Tennessee, was only appealing to people in...Indianapolis and Nashville. Neither team with a hint of a national following. BTW, is there a bigger "I don't care" division in football than the AFC South?
  2. Checked my local beer mart, Total Wine and More in Fairfax, VA and they don't sell it...went to the website and see it's only indigenous to Maine. Dang.
  3. All summer, been high on Founders Session IPA, at about a 5 ABV. Comes in 15 packs and you can get it for around $16. Fall Oktoberfest beers in the fridge this year include Brooklyn, Flying Dog, Dominion, and Great Lakes. All outstanding.
  4. Surprised the 'Cuse is getting the Bills. When Bills/Jints on same time/network, Jints usually shown in Syracuse.
  5. I started Edison Tech in September 1972 also. Second day in, I got my ass kicked by some thugs at a nearby bus stop. Determined then that Edison wasn't the place for me, and transferred back "home" to Charlotte.
  6. May have missed if this link was posted earlier, but Rochester D&C recently did an article on the subject: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/local/columnists/andreatta/2017/09/22/andreatta-when-boys-swam-nude-gym-class/694542001/ I went to Charlotte High, featured in the story, in Rochester (pronounced "Sha-Lot") in the 70s and we did indeed swim in the raw. Never gave it another thought until I saw the article. The swim coach pictured, George Graham, was also my football coach.
  7. Orton? Simply put, no. Deserving Bills from the "Drought Era" are Freddy Jackson, Kyle Williams, and maybe Lee Evans. London Fletcher a long shot.
  8. My biggest beef is with the doofus in the tunnel end zone seats who waves that big, distracting florescent rag when the Bills are attempting a FG or XP.
  9. Jeeziz, a guy with a .30 BAC...dangerous, very dangerous.
  10. I saw that also
  11. Watching on TV, there seemed to be a whole bunch of orange-clad Denver fans in the lower bowl. I don't recall a huge Denver following in WNY and I don't believe all of those folks flew in from the Rockies...anyone who was there, did it seem like an unusual number of away fans?
  12. I saw him there...he was sitting on Heitz's cooler.
  13. After seeing the non-call in slow motion several times, it was a pretty blatant miss by one or more officials...the linebacker used the facemask to bring Shady down and it should have resulted in the ball being at the 25, first and ten with the clock stopped. I don't get the arguments about it shouldn't come down to this...the game was on the line in the final two minutes. This is what happens often in football. Yes, a complete game for the 58 minutes would have negated the need, but it didn't happen. The Bills had a chance to win and one play can change the dynamic of the game...this would have changed the play calling in the final minute, with two timeouts. I'm also tired of hearing about Zay's "drop." This was certainly not a Ronnie Harmon-like play. It would have been a great play for him to come down with the ball...it was hardly a "drop."
  14. "Spit-shine Tommy, that's what we called him...he'd make your shoes look like F#@$%& mirrors."
  15. The entire soundtrack is great...it actually inspired Ed Sabol to make NFL Films as much about the music as the video.
  16. When going to O's games, I park up in the Hippodrome Theater garage on N. Pratt, just up from W. Baltimore St...little bit of a hike but it's easy in and out.
  17. Good story: After the divisional playoff game in Pittsburgh, following The Comeback, we were walking from a nearby bar to our car to start the journey home. We came across an RV with folks in Bills jackets all around and it turned out to be the Kelly crew. We walked by to have a peek and Joe immediately invited us in to share in hots, hamburgs, beer, etc. Now, we're just a couple of dolts in Bills gear, but Joe couldn't have been more accommodating...a true class act. Even got to meet Jim, who as everyone remembers did not play in that game, but started the next week in the win at Miami.
  18. I called yesterday and it took almost an hour, the service reps weren't very helpful at first and I've come to the conclusion that if you have AT&T cellular, you've got much more bargaining power...more so than a 17 year customer like myself (we have Verizon for cell/internet and don't foresee switching). Anywho, I got my $50/month credit renewed and got ST Max for $99. I don't have any movie channels, had no interest in getting them and we rarely watched HBO when we had it. I'm sure I could have negotiated something movie-wise but I was happy with the deal.
  19. Anyone recognize this fan from the Rockpile? https://youtu.be/Ajkf9IB8cNo?t=18m42s
  20. How long have you been with them?
  21. Nice...and the best I could get was $10/off month.
  22. I'm a 17 year customer and the best they could do was $10 off/month for ST Max. I cancelled the ST automatic renewal and will call back later in August when my other credits run out. The CR did tell me though that in late August, ST discounts tend to appear. So, I'll call near the end of the month and do the dance again.
  23. I have an "M" on each cheek. When I bend over, it says "MOM."
  24. For me it was the 1990 AFC championship vs. the Raiders. The crowd was cheering throughout the National Anthem (remember we had just gone to war and as of the day before, playing the game due to security concerns was in doubt). The first quarter was bedlam and when Talley ran the back the pick six, we knew we were SB bound. I don't think anyone sat down the whole time.
