  1. The Schwartz-led Lions were also very undisciplined and out of control. With all of the off-the-field and on-the-field turmoil for the NFL this year, we've heard very little about Ndamukong Suh and the Jim Caldwell led team this season.
  2. And the actor, William B. Davis, is still alive and kickin' at the age of 76. Ironically he was born in Toronto.
  3. You young whipper snappers with your short attention spans!
  4. I disagree. How can you justify the way Spiller was being used. He is not an inside runner. Sure the guards aren't playing well enough to count on for a screen game but I've seen some teams runing screens with TEs and WRs blocking. How is he a "good OC" when they play one of the better defensive teams vs the rush in the Jets and they keep running the ball up the middle? They had 32 running plays vs 21 pass plays (including 4 sacks). Yes, they won the game by 20 pts which I was extremely happy with, but anybody who watched the game had to see how much they struggled with their heavy run approach. Take away the 2 long pass plays to Watkins for 145 yards and they gained 135 yds on 51 plays, which is pathetic. Another puzzler was the New England game. The Patriots were one of the worst teams vs the run and one of the better vs the pass (currently 2nd in the NFL) The poor Bills' offensive line and struggling running attack was actually gaining 3 yds per carry. What do they do? Run the ball only 23 times and call 43 pass plays (with 5 sacks). Against Detroit they had a good game plan and/or made the right adjustments. The Lions are also a top run defense but the Bills only ran 22 times with a 2.2 yds per carry avg and had 43 pass attempts with Orton throwing for 308 yards. Three games, in which only one can you say the bills offensive approach was sound.
  5. I thought about that too but decided it wasn't worth the risk. I think there were about 5 minutes left and I thought if EJ came in and threw a pick six or fumbled and it was returned and the Jets made a 2 pter, the lead's down to 12. Jets convert an onside kick and score again and the game's up for grabs. Then they'd have to put Orton back in and that would do more harm than good for EJ's confidence
  6. Watch out! The grammar police are lurking!
  7. So, if they won a playoff game or better yet the Super Bowl this way you'd be embarrassed?? Geez, take the joy when you get it!!
  8. Shall we just go ahead and give him the nickname of "Can't" ?
  9. After everybody going all-in on Manuel and then trading the 2015 1st-round pick to get Watkins, if this team ends up with a losing record and the offense continues to struggle, I don't think any of them should feel safe.
  10. "It's hard to win in the NFL..." Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!
  11. But who do you replace him with? Easley is a special teams player who rarely has seen the field with the offense and he's injured. Goodwin, like Roscoe Parrish before him, is a special use player that can't be counted on to play a lot. That leaves you with the undrafted Chris Hogan, a possession receiver. Do you bring someone like Da'Rick back, or promote Namaan Roosevelt?
  12. And so much for analytics and quality control, which was Hackett's prior role with the Bills. Let's see, we've run this play at the start the game for 22 games and every timer Spiller runs it he loses yardage. Hmm!! It's a good play, let's try it again next game. Doh!! You'd think they could look at how New Orleans first used Reggie Bush and later Sproles with much success to figure out how to use Spiller. Or look at how Gailey used him in 2012. Aaarrgghh!!
  13. I would love it if Pegula pursued some big names and went all out recruiting a top candidate like they did when they went to Saskatchewan to convince Regher to agree to sign and trade. Let's see, they hired up-and-coming Tim Murray as GM but brought back a retread from the 90's as coach. Marv Levy is too old now, so maybe they bring back the last coach to take the Bills to the playoffs, Wade Phillips. The hiring would be contingent on Phillips agreeing to wear a headset and to hire legit NFL experienced assistant coaches.
  14. Is it really a crap stadium? I graduated 35 years ago (Holy Crap!) so I only attended games at the old Main St stadium which was probably worse than many high school stadiums. I know I saw the new arena at the Amherst campus when I was back for a visit but I don't know if I ever saw the stadium. They were favored by 13 pts so I was surprised to see the final score.
  15. The Bills were tied with the Pats for 1st in turnover +/- at +6 going into yesterday's game so it hadn't been that big of a problem before yesterday.
  16. Sorry to have to correct you, but I believe it's "friggin' Lonnie Johnson!" It's almost like Ralph directed that the team would never use another high pick on a TE after Tony Hunter was a bust from the 1983 draft. Remember 2010: Torrel Troup (remember him?) taken before Gronk!
  17. Actually, in my view, over the years there have been several WTF picks (Eric Flowers, Maybin, trade up for McCargo, Whitner over Ngata, Spiller when you already have a RB and have other holes, EJ at 16, trade up to take TJ Graham as 3rd rounder when projected as 5th round pick, Roscoe Parish, etc.) that were failures where the Bills picks could've been better if they used someone's mock draft. The history of this team's management has not been a situation of "everyone misses on a couple".
  18. So much for that USC education!
  19. But remember last year they came up with the brilliant idea of not only throwing an extensive playbook at EJ but also trying to play fast. They eventually slowed things down and streamlined the plays. So at the start of training camp we hear that they modified the offense and early on felt they were throwing too much at EJ. Duh! Then they said they were going to try and play fast again. They sure weren't setting him up to succeed. I guess if they play faster he doesn't have time to think and just reacts but that didn't seem to work.
  20. So Da'Rick was Da'runk and then Da'ropped?
  21. The NFL needs to reconsider these Thursday night games with a short week of preperation and the impact on game quality. Scores for the Thursday night games for the 1st 4 weeks: Week 1- Seattle 36, Green Bay 16 Week 2- Baltimore 26, Pittsburgh 6 Week 3- Atlanta 56, Tampa Bay 14 Week 4- NY Giants 45, Washington 14
  22. So, that leaves them with only 3 safeties. I guess they could shift Graham over if needed?
  23. I think, as has been discussed before, that they could either keep the stadium name and sell the rights to name the field or vice versa. For example, the Denver Broncos stadium/field is named Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Superdome retained it's name but added the Mercedes-Benz to the beginning.
