  1. The fact that they aren't selling Bradford Eagles unis is proof enough.
  2. Speaking of which, is there a long-range plan for the UB Sports programs like hoping to move up to a Major conference like the Big Ten?
  3. And add to that Geno Smith's regression last season and it gives me no confidence that Lee is really a QB guru (QB Whisperer?)
  4. Make that a QB that has won championships. You mean Buddy Nix's "guy that's open even when he isn't open"??
  5. And then knocking off New England to go 2-0 would give the team incredible confidence.
  6. And what would you suggest as an alternative for national coverage of all sports, Fox Sports?
  7. The NFL Players Association got the renegotiating of contracts right in their CBA. The NBAPA messed up theirs. Renegotiation isn't allowed. Steph Curry just had a MVP season and he's the 4th highest paid player on the Golden State Warriors. It works against the teams, too, as when a player is injured or not good enough anymore, they're stuck with his contract. At least the NFL can cut their arses and only are stuck with a pro-rated bonus. Or threaten to waive a player to get them to renegotiate down.
  8. He's also on XM Radio. "Schein on Sports"
  9. Thanks. Didn't come up on search. I also found this. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/25157132/nfl-draft-bills-visits-imply-eye-for-qbs?FTAG=YHF7e3228e
  10. Bills Daily has nothing
  11. Didn't we hear the same thing with Kouandjio, that he might not have a long career?
  12. I have heard much discussion about Mariota over the past few months and one statement that is frequently used is "it is tough for a guy who has been used to operating out of the shotgun in a spread offense to adjust to 3 and 5 and 7-step drops". The same can be said for any QB mechanics. Hopefully the 10,000 reps EJ has done with DeBerg make better mechanics second nature.
  13. I don't know all what the owners got out of this current CBA but what they gave up regarding practices screwed their coaching staffs and the quality of play. You hire a new coaching staff and they can't officially talk to the players until April? Then there's the limited number of mandatory practices and with pads. They've made it very difficult for coaches to get their teams ready for the regular season
  14. Smedley makes me think of the cartoon dog.
  15. Schaub (with a C) signed with the Baltimore Ravens a week ago.
  16. I was reminded that Matt Cassel did not start a single game in college at USC and only attempted 33 passes with no TD passes. Supposedly he impressed at the USC 2005 Pro Day. Must have been a hell of a performance!! His agent must have also done a great job for him to actually get drafted. Then he actually makes the Patriots roster and sees some action in his rookie year. He ends up starting most of the 2008 season after Brady's injury in the opening game. When you consider all of the highly acclaimed college QBs that were 1st round picks and didn't have much of an NFL career (Akili Smith, Andre Ware, JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Losman to name a few) the NFL career of Matt Cassel is truly amazing.
  17. Direct-TV was once operating out of Best Buy stores but they don't anymore.
  18. People should be given an option to have their identity protected, like with unlisted phone numbers, even if they have to pay a fee.
  19. Since I didn't like the trade, I'll be sure to post when McCoy dances behind the line and doesn't fit the ground-and-pound approach. Prove me wrong, Shady!!
  20. Can we get this thread to 100,000 views and 100 pages??
  21. They should be playing Hackett and/or bring up a goalie from Rochester and start him.
  22. I just did some research on the history of the American football extra point. American football was derived from rugby for which carrying the ball over the touch line did not score any points but gave the team the opportunity to kick the ball between the posts for a score. When the player scored he placed the ball on the ground, which was referred to as the "touch down" and the team had to attempt the kick from that spot. American football awarded poiints for crossing the goal line but also kept the kick attempt after the score for additional points. After various changes, it eventually resulted in the 6 pts for a TD as we have today and the single point after was kept for the purpose of trying to avoid ties as in the early days it wasn't so automatic. Supposedly, part of the reason the NFL finally incorporated the 2-point conversion try was also to avoid ties (I personally don't see any valid data to support this as ties and eventually overtime games have been rare.). The purpose of adding excitement with the 2-point conversion seems to make more sense.
  23. Anynody ever see/hear a Kiko reaction to the trade?
  24. Anywhere but Fisher. They haven't made the playoffs since they've been going there ( TIC)
