  1. You forgot about TE Tony Hunter in '83. Oh, wait.
  2. ... and then injured his neck when he turned to look at who was calling to him?
  3. Sounds like we've been down this road before at least once (Rob Johnson? Losman?)
  4. Living in Northern California, I've seen, heard & read a lot about Alex Smith. One of his main drawbacks has been the unwillingness to throw the ball down the field (although he did it well against the Bills). I've seen many replays where they'd show open receivers say 20 yards down the field and 10 yards down the field. He'd usually take the safer shorter throw. Not a Captain Checkdown like Trent Edwards, just maybe less of a risk taker than Kap. His arm is definitely stronger than Fitz's.
  5. I've also noticed that most athletes seem to start out with "I mean..." Another habit that drives me nuts is a more recent one where people say "Ya, No" I always want to say "Well which is it?"
  6. Exactly. Please don't make another Rob Johnson deal based on limited success.
  7. Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw were both 4-0 in Super Bowls. Just saying.
  8. I'm hoping to hear that Marrone puts an end to this BS with Mario.
  9. Bills just hired Anthony Weaver, 32, as defensive line coach. He has a whole 2 years NFL experience as assistant def line coach with the Jets under Pettine. I'm just saying. He played for Baltimore when Pettine was there so he knows him well.
  10. Two QBs beats "wasting" a pick on a kickoff specialist or project lineman as we've seen recently.
  11. Paul Hackett's last known position was as quarterbacks' coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2010.
  12. I'm a Notre Dame fan but this reminds me of my take on Super Bowl XXVII, a 52-17 blowout. Midway thru the second quarter the Bills are trailing 14-10 and have the ball inside the Dallas 5-yard line. Jim Kelly, who teammates later said seemed dazed by a previous hit, threw the ball up for grabs in the endzone and Dallas intercepted. Two big pass plays resulted in a Dallas TD. Another quick Buffalo turnover and a couple plays later it's 28-10 Dallas and game over. Had Kelly not thrown that INT, it may have been a different game. Dallas fans would likely disagree, though.
  13. Perhaps Marrone was the candidate most receptive to the use of analytics?
  14. Well a coordinator could look at it as a possible stepping stone to HC if Marrone fails
  15. And how about college coaches can't interview for another job until after their season is over, including bowl games? It's bogus when a coach leads his team to a bowl game but tales another job and then an assistant coach is in charge for the bowl game.
  16. Yeah, here's a good one: The percentages of converted third-and-ones with a 5 WR set with empty backfield.
  17. All you need is Lovie!! Wa wa wa wa wa! All you need is Lovie!! Wa wa wa wa wa! All you need is Lovie Lovie! Lovie is all you need Lovie is all you need Lovie is all you need
  18. My bad!! LOL!! I remembered Marv recommending Polian for a job per his book "Where else would you rather be?" It was for the Chicago Blitz of the USFL.
  19. Marv Levy was the Bills' coach and then recommended hiring of Polian.
