NFL worried about Chargers viability in LA
BobbyC81 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I don't remember why the Raiders and Rams left back in the 90s, but they go 20 years without a team and then think it's a good idea to try again, but with 2 teams, instead of one. The only part that made sense was building only one stadium to share. That way, if one team, like the Chargers, doesn't draw enough interest, they still have one team to play in the stadium. Now, from a marketing strategy, having PSLs is a good idea if demand far exceeds supply. Otherwise, if they're counting on PSLs to fund the stadium build, and fans decide they'll just buy individual games, they're screwed. Actually, despite the wealth in Southern California, expecting people to shell out a few thousand for the right to buy tickets that are already $200+ each, along with parking and $15 beers was risky. -

Well, unfortunately for Raiders fans, Carr has regressed badly. Rappoport was talking about players on trading block and I was surprised he mentioned Carr. I guess Gruden likes McCarron. Carr though was ready to play when he joined the NFL. Unfortunately for us, Allen is not. -

Their pro personnel scouting has been questionable. Although the trade of a fourth round pick for Benjamin seemed to be a good one, they didn't seem to investigate the reasons Carolina was willing to deal him. Same with Corey Coleman. Star Lotulelei was rated as one of the worst DTs last season, yet they gave him a big free agent contract. -
The tackle on Ivory sure looked as bad as a horse collar. If they're so concerned about safety, they should revisit it.

Excuse me. EJ would stare down an open receiver 5 yards away, rooster his arm, wait and then throw it into the ground. He was horrible. I see a lot more potential in Allen than I ever saw in EJ.

And the Bills did with Jordan Matthews and EJ Gaines. -
Just saw them this year on their final tour. They were awesome.

Bruce Smith Safety in SB 25

I see my memory was faulty. They didn't get into FG range until that 18-19 sec mark. I apologize to Marv. I do see what you mean about the block, especially considering that defender made the tackle. You can't tell from the video but apparently the Giants were blanketing the Bills receivers, forcing Kelly to run, which ate up more clock. How about the refs jumping in to look at the McKeller catch? Why didn't they put time back on the clock. It hurt the Bills momentum. They were ready to snap the ball. After the review, it took another 5 to 10 secs for them to get reset. Could've been enough time for another play. The Bills also left time on the clock. Why not throw a quick out for another few yards instead of spiking it? -
Bruce Smith Safety in SB 25

I don't think so. In SB 27, the Bills were in the red zone late in the first half down 14-10. Kelly was knocked loopy and threw up a bad INT in the end zone. Now with momentum, Dallas went for the jugular and scored 2 TDs before the half. Had the Bills scored a TD before the half to make it 17-14, they would've had the momentum. In SB 28, the Bills played very well to lead at the half. With 3 prior Super Bowl losses, the Thurman fumble returned for a TD that tied the game had an overwhelming deflating affect on the Bills. Again, coaching and team leadership could've curtailed the meltdown but didn't . -

Yet they still could've won with that FG. I don't blame Norwood. I blame Levy. They got in FG range with about a minute left but got too conservative and stayed at the edge of Norwood's range. Getting another 10 or more yards would've been huge. -
Ricky Watters is still waiting for a better offer so he can feed his family.

You can never have too many Benjamins!

Don't forget about Jeremy Kerley. He's a good possession receiver. My guess is either he didn't want to or couldn't play special teams or did or said something to piss off coach McD. It still made little sense to keep Foster if only for his speed. When Allen does get the ball to him, he drops it. He doesn't contribute anything else.

Andy Benoit: How Do the Bills Keep Pulling Off Upsets?
BobbyC81 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, he actually said they have no great corners, except for White. Well, in standard defense you only play two so one being great is a big deal.
