  1. I'm hearing Rick Dennison is available
  2. If you read the last line of my post I clealry said I was just having fun with some scenarios.. I wish people would not take so much of this message board so serioulsy. I like posting off the cuff for fun That being said.. Free Agent bargainnig power.. We have some money we have an open poisiton and we have a playoff caliber team with owners who are willing to do what it takes.. We have some chips to bargain with. SO I do not under stand your reality quip.. Highly unlikely but fun to think about
  3. Thinking outside the box would be signing Alex Smith and Teddy Bridgewater, If they both hit FA. Smith gets a solid 1 or 2 year deal tops. Teddy gets an incentive laden deal that pays him well if/when he starts and plays so many games etc.. That frees up all our draft picks to pick prime players to fill out our holes and of course we would still have room for a FA or 2 Yeah I know most likely not happneing but bridgewater is a wildcard 1st rd pick that would be better on paper than any QB that fell to us... With Smith also brought in teddy can have the luxury of one more season of making sure the knee is truly healed well or maybe he wins the job out right. Just having some fun with scenarios
  4. Disagree on that.. If you have accuracy and need to hone it in then you can work on the mechanics but if you don't have the accuracy to begin with it ain't happening IMO But what do I know, I'm just a message board GM.. There is always an anomaly eventually....
  5. QB DL OL LB WR I tried to put it in most needed to least needed but those 5 position are the most dire to find a new improved starter and depth if we want to head back to the promiseland
  6. This is true.. but he also came in with lots of question marks about his accuracy just the same. and his 1st 2 years he had less than 100 attempts. His college game plan was divide the field in half.. SO EJ's ability to progress through full reads was a huge unknown since he was never required to do it You will find a good amount of 60 + % career college passers not make it in the NFL. You will be EXTREMELY HARD PRESSED to find any college QB whom had a sub 60% completion pct... do much of anything at the pro level... As it stands right now I think Allen's pro career will be similar to Manuels. maybe Allen breaks the trend but if your a gambling man the odds are greatly stacked against this BUT this part of the quote below is exactly what they used to sell EJ
  7. Keep him.. you can't mold a QB that has never demonstrated consitent accuracy in College ALl I see is EJ Manual
  8. alright measurement at release.. Still a very silly thing IMO What I find weird is somehow we need a stat like this to tell everyone here what we already know.. We need to upgrade the QB and WR situation.. 90% of the posters are already on this train...
  9. How in the hell do you measure seperation... Basically some football junkie watched every pass by every QB and recorded their perceived amount of spereration??? I chalk this particular run of stats as one mans perception.. Not saying we don't have this issue but this is the 1st time I ever heard of someone rate WR separation at the time of catch. then the 6 page debate that follows some hear say stat.. kind of silly
  10. Pick up a vet and draft a QB Not much to even defend at this point as there is lots of months to hone in on who we could or should draft and what QB's are really left on the table for FA or even trade
  11. Just found a few scouting reports on Mason Rudolph.. His biggest knock appears ot be his inability to read defenses quickly and locks on to 1st read often.
  12. the more I research different opionons on Rudolph there seems to be a huge concern in his abiltity to read a defense. He locks on to the 1st target often.. anbd/or misses wide open options that are right in front of him when its not his 1st read option
  13. LOL.. Puts your legs in the air like you ain't got a care
  14. They had lots of negative things to say about Aaron Rogers in reagrds to his coaches abiltiy to design a QB friendly Offense. They also said he was a bit small and many swore he would be a bust... Rudolph checks some boxes in regards to being a a solid pro.. Gonna come down to arm strength showing at pro day and combine IMO I'm thinking if we do not trade up it could very well be Rudolph at this junction... But I'm just an armchair QB
  15. Benjamin is more of a 1B or a 2 IMO A large not speedy vet that can catch the ball in traffic and create space with his size. I still want my 1A WR to have a combination of Size AND Speed and the ability ot run a very solid route tree. benjamin is not a speed guy or a terific route runner just a large body with good hands and great catch range
  16. Some have the ability to process the game at the college level but never can adjust to the schemes speed and level of play at the pro level. Don't think it has anything to do with preperation as it does simple ability. Just like accuracy but this is a tangible that can be seen at the college level.. However I stand by the thought process in the accuracy regard is you either have it or you don't. For QB's that make it to the pros you usually don't find out how a QB prospect is going to adjust to the pro game in regards to reading defenses and making the right call/adjustment until you already committed and allowed this QB to play the game for better or worse. Sometimes it takes a little bit for it all to settle down many times it just never happens... If there was a metric for detemring a QB ability to read and react to a defense I think there would be a lot less 1st rd busts at QB IMO
  17. I would have to research more via scouting reports and chats (yes I am simply a fan who takes in what he can and forms a fan opinion) ... I was originally under the perception he would go before us but Now I'm thinking he wil be there possibly into the 2nd rd.. Its going to come down to his arm strength showcase at pro days and combine iMO I wouldn't be moving up to grab him, but I do think we could be looking at him with one of our 1st rd picks
  18. I was willing ot give NP a chance and he will be here for camp.. But after that last pass I'm on the NP arm is not good enough train. We will bring n a vet and draft a QB and NP will be released sometime during the preseason IMO
  19. I think we really need a more reliable vet over McCarron... Way too much of a crap shoot with AJ.. need a vet with a better resume and experience IMO As long as we draft a qb to compete. Although Bradford wouldn't be a 1st choice. Peterman will be here for at least TC
  20. I think College accuracy is what it is. You got it or you don't... Not many QB's come from college with sub 60% average completion % and go on to rule the NFL. Can't think of many QBs that have myslef Interesting read than goes along with my personal line of thinking regarding any QB we draft (supposed to be a link here) I do not want Allen. IMO its EJ manual all over agian
  21. I rarely watch football if the bills are not playing
  22. Get a QB that can produce at a consistent level. and get D players that can get ot the opposing QB consistently
  23. Well I don;t know that... Again can only find marginal reasoning to why he would fall out of the 1st. As the socuting reports cvome out and discussions get more involved I'll be better prepared to make that judgement
  24. Well if its determined his arm strength is better than anticipated he will move up fast. The only other knock on him that I can find is he played ina QB friendly non-NFL type of system in College
  25. Wish the Sabres were good... This is going ot be a long dead period
