Damn! You beat me to posting the same thought-I type too slow.

If Carolina gets Mayfield all they have to do is sign Josh Rosen & they can have all 3 2018 1st round QBs who their drafting teams didn't want.
-
Big difference. The Bills dumped Fitzpatrick before the draft & only had Tarvaris Jackson, Kevin Kolb & Aaron Corp signed for 2013 before the draft. None of them were around by opening day. Jackson & Corp were released & Kolb was on IR. So the Bills panicked because they had to draft a QB. The Giants have 2 QBs who have been starters multiple years. No they don't. Fromm is gone. https://www.bigblueview.com/2022/3/16/22980961/giants-opt-not-to-tender-exclusive-free-agent-offer-to-qb-jake-fromm

So if the Bills win the Super Bowl because of a more balanced offense & fewer designed QB runs which keeps Josh fresh, who is going to give a rat's behind about a 5th year option years down the road?

Joe Buscaglia makes a good case for Hall in his final mock draft: https://theathletic.com/3275674/2022/04/28/bills-mock-draft/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983 The pick at No. 25: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State Close second: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia In my only other Bills seven-round mock draft, over a month ago, I had the Bills taking Breece Hall, and I’m sticking with it because of Bills logic — not general draft logic. They have yet to add to their fastball in a significant way this offseason, and giving them a player like Hall adds an entirely different dimension to the offense. He’s a home run threat, he’s a pass-catching threat, he has upside in pass protection, he has excellent patience and vision for the zone scheme they’re likely to run more in 2022 and he can make people miss in the open field. The Bills often go for something they don’t have in the first round, and they have no one even close to what Hall could become, and there is no one else like Hall in this draft who fits everything they’re looking for at the position. It’s not about running the ball more; this is still a pass-first operation. It’s about becoming an even more dynamic offense that doesn’t have to rely so heavily on quarterback Josh Allen with designed runs. It’s minimizing the risk of their MVP-level quarterback missing games. Coach Sean McDermott has stressed having the threat to run at all times to help the passing game. Devin Singletary has been fine, but he lacks game-breaking ability and he’s in the final year of his contract. Hall checks way too many boxes to ignore. He would become an electric option on RPOs, and the screen game would actually have life. Just as important, his presence would dissuade the opposition from running the big-pass-play-preventing two-high defense that’s in vogue now. And for those who hate the idea of taking a running back in the first round, I don’t think the Bills are as worried about it as everyone else. General manager Brandon Beane acknowledged that the team had running backs, plural, with first-round grades over the last four years. Last year, after he was selected 25th by the Jaguars, Travis Etienne said he believed he was headed to Buffalo at No. 30. Beane said they would take the player if he added a dynamic skill set the Bills didn’t have on their roster. Hall is that guy. Bills 2022 mock draft class PICKPLAYER 25 Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State 57 Nick Cross, S, Maryland 89 Joshua Williams, CB, Fayetteville State 130 Joshua Ezeudu, IOL, North Carolina 168 James Mitchell, TE, Virginia Tech 173 Jordan Stout, P, Penn State 185 Brandon Smith, LB, Penn State

There were so many spectators at the stadium it hurt the TV ratings.

OT…Steelers legend Devlin “Duck” Hodges retires
Albany,n.y. replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
In 2019 the Bills were playing the Steelers & the Steelers were favored. I looked at the matchups & said "Josh Allen vs Duck Hodges" I then raced to the casino & bet the Bills on the money line. -
They're pumping in fake crowd noise. I'm not sure if it's just on the broadcast or over the PA at the stadium. Either that or all people on the sidelines have been instructed to make a lot of noise since there are more members of both teams combined than fans in the stands.

If it's such a well known belief, there are a lot of GMs who didn't get notified. In the last 10 drafts 16 RBs have been selected in the 1st round, 4 in the top 4 of the entire draft. In the 20s, where the Bills are drafting, 4 have been drafted in the last 4 drafts. So I guess it's almost anyone but the NFL GMs. Here's the list: 2021- Harris (24), Etienne (25) 2020- Edwards-Helaire (32) 2019- Jacobs (24) 2018- Barkley (2), Perry (27), Michel (31) 2017- Fournette (4), McCaffrey (8) 2016- Elliott (4) 2015-Gurley (10), Gordon (15) 2013-Paterson (29) 2012-Richardson (3), Martin (31), Wilson (32)

Since he's the one who posted it I took it as his belief & responded to his post, not taking it as he was relaying some league wide belief. Most people here are posting their own opinions, not stating the beliefs of others. That's what I'm expecting when I read a post.

Indy didn't intentionally tank the season-they brought in Kerry Collins to replace Manning but he only lasted 3 games before going on IR. What were they supposed to do at that point-mortgage the future for a journeyman backup like the year the Vikings gave up a #1 for Sam Bradford? They got stuck with no QBs during the season & it cost the coach & GM their jobs. If they were purposely tanking why would they have cleaned house of the team's management? These guys got blamed for not winning & got fired.

I was always talking about fellow posters since that's the reference point when I'm talking on this board. Who else would I be referring to when I used to words similar comments to your POST. It is always with OTHER POSTERS OPINIONS, unless one specifically cites a member of the media or team. I'm not expecting Beane or McDermott to join in and be part of our discussion.
-
There were plenty of posters in 2018 who didn't want to trade up for a QB-check the archives.
-
Our local news (Ch 10) just had an economist from Massachusetts who knocked the deal. The idiots in the media at this end of the state won't give up.
-
Beane wouldn't be drafting a RB hoping he's the next Terry Miller. I can cite busts at any position if I want to say no 1st rounder is ever worth the risk. For years there were advocates of never drafting a 1st round QB making similar comments to your post. Thankfully Beane didn't agree with them.
-
If a player like Thurman Thomas has a 5th year option, no team would hesitate to either pick it up or sign him to a long term extension.
-
We're not drafting in the top 10 anymore. People need to realize that when your team is drafting near the end of the 1st round you will not get to draft again until the late 2nd round and if the sweet spot for RBs is early 2nd round if you want one you either use a 1st rounder or lose the player. You can't count on a trade up or trade down. It's not the same mentality as drafting in the top 10.

He was one of the XFL's best QBs and was on some NFL practice squads including KC.
-
I froze the screen after they showed the stands. They're lucky if they have 50 people attending the game. There are more players on the sidelines than fans in the stands.
-
There aren't many,if any, fans in the stands. Looks like Highmark 2020.

New Bills stadium deal is bad for taxpayers, according to Yahoo!
Albany,n.y. replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall
The restaurant owner's argument makes no sense in the Bills case. Does the restaurant owner own the land and building he runs his business or does he rent from someone else who owns the property LIKE THE BILLS DO? If he rents it, did he pay the entire cost to build the building, because if he did the owner fleeced him. Maybe he paid to make the restaurant fit the owner's building, but he would be a fool to build the building unless he owns it & has a land lease. If he owns everything then it makes sense for him to have built the restaurant himself because he controls all of the property and ISN'T A TENANT-THE BILLS ARE TENANTS, NOT OWNERS OF THE STADIUM. There's no comparison between a PRIVATE business and a PUBLIC Stadium. -

USFL rule changes…thumbs up or thumbs down?

The real reason is the NFL is afraid New England will hire someone who will figure out how to hack the chip.
