  2. Wow! How could the Bills be so stupid to have picked Beane over you after Whaley got fired? Your credibility sinks even lower when you post nonsense like this. Nobody has been dead on as possible (whatever that means) about anything for the last 20 years. You were right because you agreed with Beane, but you were also right when you disagreed with Beane's 2nd round pick. Guess what, I'd rather have Diggs and Ford than Metcalf. Beane saw an O-line need last year & went for it after signing 2 WRs. Then this year he went for an established #1 WR. You don't usually dial up #1 WRs at the end of the 2nd round. If you're so good send your resume & posts from the last 20 years to the Jets. They need someone who claims to be as good as you.
  3. With the postponement of the Patriots-Chiefs game Sunday because of positive coronavirus tests on both teams, the NFL has moved the Bears-Colts game from 1 to 4:25 p.m. Sunday to give CBS a second doubleheader game. The postponement will enable Capital Region viewers to see Bills-Raiders at 4:25 p.m. The game initially was trumped by Patriots-Chiefs. Some markets will get Bears-Colts, but those will be mostly in the Midwest. https://blog.timesunion.com/sportsmedia/patriots-chiefs-postponement-puts-bills-raiders-on-local-tv-as-nfl-juggles-schedule/19817/

  5. I know it's nitpicking, but there are a couple of flaws in the arricle. 1) The author states Arizona was at #10. " The Cardinals, however, were looming at No. 10, and the Bills were originally picking at No. 12." They were at 15 when the Bills traded up to 7. They moved up to 10 to select Rosen when the Raiders were on the clock at 10. They didn't have the #10 pick until they traded up, presumably to get ahead of Miami. 2) When the Ravens drafted Jackson, Marty Mornhinwig was the Ravens OC, Roman was TE coach Jackson's rookie year. Roman was promoted to OC for the 2019 season. Saying that Roman was on the offensive coaching staff doesn't mean he'd be working with Jackson while coaching the TEs.
  6. Unfortunately, not everyone will get the game because CBS moved the Colts/Bears game to 4:25. They better show the Bills in Albany or there will be people outside WRGB with pitchforks & torches outside WRGB's building.
  7. It's official, NE @ KC postponed. The Bills game will be shown in Albany. No way Albany shows Colts/Bears game which has been moved to 4:25 & will be shown in the Midwest.
  8. Sorry, but when you are knocking Beane for not taking a guy who was the last pick in the 2nd round who turned out to be the 9th WR taken in the draft and comparing his draft status to the 7th overall pick & the 3rd QB taken, you lose all credibility. Fans from every team could post the same thing based on how Metcalf is playing. You can do the same thing whenever a guy gets overlooked by just about every GM & turns out to be a good to great player. I repeat 9th WR, last pick of the 2nd round. Somewhere in NY there's a Jets fan saying the Jets GM blew it by not drafting Gabe Davis before we did. You can do this every draft. Why didn't we draft Brady in the 5th round? Just because you felt strongly about a player who the Bills didn't draft & you were right about his talent when no NFL GM thought of him as highly as you did, doesn't make you GM material. I trust Beane's judgement over any poster on this board 24/7.
  9. With Newton out, that's possible. I hope once KC gets ahead everyone turns the game off & switches to the Giants game & WRGB looks at the ratings and never chooses NE over the Bills again. Edit: WGR is talking about the game being postponed. I hope it happens because if it does, we get the Bills game. From a purely selfish view I say postpone, postpone, postpone! Double Edit: Schefter is saying the Pats game is getting postponed. WGR is talking like it's a done deal that we'll be the CBS national game at 4:25. NFL Network now saying game postponed until at least Monday or Tuesday Nobody messes with the Buffalo Bills being show on TV in Albany.
  10. East Rutherford, N.J.? Seriously, the Giants trained here for years & the stadium is the closest to Albany in the entire NFL. It makes perfect sense that people here would be fans of NY teams. Before the virus I would go to Yankee Stadium every year. We have bus trips to a lot of NY teams from Albany. We're also not that far from Boston, Mass. Buffalo is further away than NY, NJ, Boston, etc. The only reason the Bills are popular here is because a lot of us lived in Buffalo prior to coming to Albany. I've lived in both the NYC metro area & Buffalo metro area. You sound like one of the NYC hating jerks I ran into when I lived in Buffalo.
  11. The topic is Albany Bills fans
  12. We made the front page of today's Albany Times Union: https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/3-0-Buffalo-Bills-not-on-local-TV-again-15611913.php
  13. Caller to WFAN "Adam Gase makes Rich Kotite look like Paul Brown"
  14. Joe Thomas & Steve Smith were really going after each other. Smith : Gregg is dirty, Thomas, the ex LT (future HOF) block better then they can't hit the QB.
  15. I highly recommend going to WFAN's website & listening. 73 year old Steve Somers who has seen it all, is calling the Jets the worst team in the NFL. Unfortunately some fans are making Yankees calls when all I want to hear is the Jets funeral march.
  16. I just turned on WFAN. Ripping Gase & Greggo
  17. Making Gore run is elder abuse.
  18. Unnecessary roughness. Lots of leeway what they can call.
  19. I had us 11-5 this season, winning the 1st 4 games, so, so far I've been right the 1st 3 games. I had losses at Tenn, KC, SF, NE & home vs Sea. I could easily see us winning Tenn, especially if they aren't at full strength, and SF. That gets us up to 13-3.
  20. I hope the Chiefs win by 50 and WRGB never shows another Patriots game this season. I was holding out hope, but right after the news tonight CH 6 advertised Patriots game for Sunday. MFers.
  21. At least this time the fix in the schedule should be pretty easy. Pittsburgh /Baltimore game gets moved from week 7 to week 8 since they have the same bye week in week 8. Then Pittsburgh/Tennessee gets moved to week 7 where Tennessee has their bye originally scheduled.
  22. Here's a great Allen & the Bills management team story: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2018/07/19/hair-raising-landing-didnt-deter-bills-from-drafting-allen/36985297/ Here's another one: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/how-the-bills-shocked-themselves-and-landed-josh-allen-tremaine-edmunds-in-2018-nfl-draft/ From 1st story: Once they gathered their breath, the Bills then proceeded with meeting Allen, and put him through a workout. Without providing Allen with a script of plays beforehand, Daboll began yelling out situations to see how quickly the quarterback could digest the information and make a throw. "It was, 'All right, the deep dig. Now. Five-step, this. Go.' And he processed it quickly," Beane said. "His workout was very good. And when we left there, we felt very confident." They were confident enough to give up two second-round picks to Tampa Bay and trade up five spots to draft Allen at No. 7. Where their confidence wavered involved what bumps they might encounter upon leaving Laramie. "We were a little distracted about how we were getting out of here," Beane said. "It was like, 'Where do we drive to have the plane meet us?'" CHARTING ALLEN To address questions regarding Allen's accuracy, Bills scouts turned to game tape to chart every throw he attempted. They assessed what caused the incompletions, including times he threw the ball away when his receivers weren't open. The Bills also took into account Wyoming's offensive philosophy, which didn't include many short passes. "He had no gimme throws," Beane said of a quarterback who went 152 of 270, in completing just 56.3 percent of his passes, with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions in 11 games last year. The only real concern was Allen's footwork, which Beane said notably improved by the time he played at the Senior Bowl in January. "I'm not saying it's fixed," Beane said of Allen's footwork. "But improved." From 2nd story: Allen helped his stock with a strong Pro Day and with how he handled himself during meetings with Bills ownership and management, both at Wyoming and in Buffalo. The more film they reviewed the more his best attributes stood out to them, with Beane still raving about Allen's gutty performance against Colorado State, a 16-13 Wyoming win under duress in November in which Allen completed just 10 of 20 passes for 138 yards and no scores, and accounted for just 198 total yards. "It was a snow game," Beane said. "In the first half it rained and in second half it snowed, and he was not only their running game and throwing game, he was their whole offense and he willed that team to victory. His stats, if you look at his stats, they look terrible. But if you watch the tape, that's where you see a guy that carried his team to victory." When Beane went to watch Allen play he paid almost as close attention to how he conducted himself on the sidelines -- keeping cool and rallying lesser teammates who routinely let him down with mistakes and dropped passes -- as he did to what was happening between the lines. His attitude and team-first ethos won the Bills over through the process. The subsequent time they spent with Allen leading up to the draft -- after that shaky interaction at the Senior Bowl -- backed up everything he had seen on film or from the binoculars in the press box. "We met Josh for the first time at the Senior Bowl and spent about a half hour with him, and it was tough," Beane said. "He was super nervous and I thought he was trying too hard, as some of the other ones were. He was just really wanting to impress. "When we flew to Laramie his flight was late and he was flying from L.A. to Denver and I think he felt bad that he was late for dinner and he showed up and I was like, 'Man, we've got our owners here, he's going to feel really [nervous].' And he was relaxed and calm and confident. It was like he was a different kid than we saw two months earlier. It just felt natural with him. "And we brought him here to Buffalo too. You know we saw him in his surroundings in Laramie, so let's bring him to our surroundings, and he just seemed like one of our type of guys. And you saw that leadership and the things I saw on the sidelines when I saw him play live. Even at the Senior Bowl he was high-fiving linemen, patting guys on the butt, clapping all the time. He's into it every play. It wasn't about him, it was about the team, the we, and that's what I think is really important."
  23. Dave Te Thomas, who is my favorite draft guru also had Josh as the best QB prospect in the draft. His full QB scouting report of the top prospects is here: https://www.bigblueview.com/2018/4/21/17264242/nfl-draft-report-josh-allen-cream-of-quarterback-crop-2018-nfl-draft-sam-darnold-josh-rosen Cream of the Crop -- Josh Allen, Wyoming While Allen is likely to go high in the draft, this projection is based on his pro football potential. Yes, there are still quite a few rough edges to work out, and those that compare him to Carson Wentz are missing the boat (Wentz is much more advanced), but he does have a Joe Flacco-like arm and the Matt Ryan ability to change a game with his arm. All he needs is patient coaching.
