Ted Washington said that he didn't think the Bills D-line was anything special. As for the 275, The Pats saw something in the way the Bills defend and exploited it with average players. McD said in a presser that the Pats did some things in the running game they didn't expect and hadn't seen from them. It's just another example of great coaching on the part of the Pats. Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to tip your hat to them.

Nathan Peterman ranked #1 QB (Funny video)

Not funny, classless. -
But it will help their chances unfortunately IMO. We have a President who is facing historical political and media opposition on everything from his affairs of years ago to his wife's choice of holiday decor. What might be good policy is almost completely drowned out in terms of public message. Trump has declared war on the media and the media (dozens and dozens of outlets) are making a business from waging a war against him while conspiring with his opposition party. The President has an arsenal of weapons but almost exclusively chooses twitter for every battle. No President that I can recall (possible exception Nixon in his 2nd term) has faced greater opposition. The constant hourly attacks on Trump will certainly take its toll. It may make his base even more determined but his most loyal base is too small and he's already likely lost many of the voters that won him the office. This is politics and media bias at its absolute worst. As ugly as it is, it's a winning formula for the left in my view. Nixon, Clinton and Bush 2 faced their greatest political challenges in the 2nd terms. Carter in his first. Trump I think will go down in 2020 much like Carter did in spite of some of Trump's policy wins. Too many American voters are not tuned in well enough to have their political priorities in order or to look critically at media reporting and government performance.

Can we be the 2018 bears in 2019?
keepthefaith replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bears were smart to retain their DC even when hiring a new head coach. That rarely happens. If Frasier goes hopefully McD finds another DC that will work well with these players. Bear like the Bills had to invest a lot in their offense this past off season and it paid off. Bills obviously need to do the same. -
The Trump Shutdown

Your husband is spot on. Trump can go on TV and now streamed platforms often if he chooses and will get a big audience which would include a lot of people that don't follow him on twitter. For a business guy and one who loves the camera, Trump is missing a big opportunity to communicate with voters. -

From where though? Media will continue to blame Trump and will run stories of poor federal workers not getting paychecks because of this evil selfish man. They'll have other stories of how dormant government services are hurting people. Dem pols will be on nearly every network every day saying how they want "common sense immigration reform" and that walls are stupid. They'll comment and report that Trump is holding up the entire government for his lousy wall. Dem base will be fired up from that alone. The hearings and investigations can easily start a month or two or three from now. They'll still be riding Mueller and SDNY for a while. Trump doesn't have enough support on this to cause pressure to his opposition in my view. Twitter only goes so far. He hasn't sowed the seeds of support enough along the way IMO. I see Dem pols holding out and winning unless they get some other funding in their wheelhouse added. -

Call this wishful thinking on my part but the right thing to do would be for Trump to have had his administration do a study on illegal immigration and then present the problem and solutions to the American People with facts, numbers, etc. That presentation should then include the various steps needed to achieve the goal to include cooperation from Mexico and other central American countries. Visa violations and other forms of illegal entry or stay to be addressed since that's half the problem. Further the presentation should point out our poorly crafted laws, how they are abused and how to fix them. By doing this he sells border security to the people and puts pressure on Congress to enact the solutions. He should also meet with the new Mexican pres and others in the region (after all Mexico has to pay for any barrier ). In the end if something gets done to dramatically reduce illegal entry/stays and the cluster you know what of a legal system is fixed and Mexico in some way helps at the border - most people should be happy and the term "wall" is defined as a collection of changes that fixes the problem. This might include a physical barrier. In this game of chicken, Trump I believe will blink. There will be no pressure on Dems. -

Without a doubt the Clinton email "matter" goal was to help her avoid indictment. That's painfully obvious. Why Trump's DOJ has produced so little in terms of criminal prosecutions in almost 2 years is baffling. Yeah Mueller's work could be holding that up. Perhaps Trump is reluctant to direct his DOJ to take more aggressive action against IC folks for fear of retaliatory investigations. Those are likely coming anyway. Maybe it's something else or is still yet to come but I think many people who have seen ample public evidence of IC wrongdoing are losing faith that justice will actually be served. -

Yes and usually when the coach expresses confidence in an obviously struggling player, it's the kiss if death. He'll be a Raider before training camp starts. -
The analytics revolution in the NFL
keepthefaith replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The article points out the challenge in using collected data which is: What data points are useful? It'll take some time for teams and experts to develop productive analytical methods and habits that make a difference, and data then becomes a good tool but not more than that. As someone who has used data collection extensively over the past 10 years in another sport, determining what to measure and how to interpret what is measured and what changes should be made based on this information is a constantly evolving process/challenge. To your point football presents so many things that can be measured (player data, team data, opposition data and all kinds of statistical data) that narrowing down what matters will be a challenge in itself. -

Has it been 3? Don't recall but this mess, lack of real budgets is ridiculous. Annual budgets are one of the most fundamental responsibilities of Congress and POTUS. How stupid were they all the last time around to give themselves a late December deadline? How stupid is it on the part of everyone involved that a budget isn't done on time each year with some fiscal discipline given our recent deficits? -

But Democrats aren't in favor of those border security items except for maybe a very few in the house and senate. They might like more security personnel because then they can turn them into immigration processing agents as Obama did. Devices of any kind or any actual commitment to better securing us they'll never support. Trump on the other hand should be using this budget deadline/ceiling to address reductions in spending. -

Trump foreign policy

All true and relevant but I really like Mattis's no nonsense approach. Cabinet turnover is common but Trump is having more than his fair share and we're losing a good one here. Prefer that Mattis would stay. -

The federal government should seek to tax citizens and business as little as possible and it should also seek to spend not more than it collects in taxes more often than not. Funny thing though that the spending side is almost never reviewed and addressed. -

In other words, when we've reach the ceiling on national debt the only way to get lawmakers to agree to raise it is to further increase spending.
