The Trump Shutdown

He still has the opportunity to call her out now that she's in Washington for the next week if she fails to engage him on the matter. -

Trump's next move should be to kick Pence to the curb so Nancy has the opportunity then to report to the Donald. -

Pelosi IMO has nothing to lose by holding out. The media will have her back. Her House members are mostly in lock step with her or are afraid of her. She and much of the Dem base don't want border security or don't care. Mexico hasn't yet offered to pay for the wall, and Nancy is Harry Reid nasty and stubborn. As time goes on Government workers not getting paid will make an increasing amount of noise and the media will run wild with that. All of the pressure is on Trump and will continue to be IMO. Trump has done a mostly lousy job of presenting the issue of border security to Americans and an even lousier job of exposing his opposition's true position of wanting open borders. -
Marquise Goodwin: Tough year, loses twins

Terrible news and terrible luck. All the best to Marquise and his family. Let's hope luck evens out over time, so better years ahead. -

Any Dem pres: man, woman, black, white, brown or otherwise will be given the same puff treatment by most of the media. The leftist culture is embedded in that industry from the rank and file to top leadership and few that go against the grain can find ongoing employment there. -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

Because the show was full of diversity but then Trump became a racist during his campaign. -

Yeah lost in all of it is that it's another failure to pass a budget and that the budget process hasn't had discipline in years. -
She takes herself very seriously and loves to hear herself talk in these settings. Trump talking point? He just signed the First Step Act. You might have missed it though as leftist media barely covered the bi-partisan effort supported by Democrats. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/dec/21/trump-prison-reform-first-step-act-signed-law

What's the most trouble you got in as a kid?
keepthefaith replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Beating the ***** out of a neighbor in school during a class when both in 7th grade. The detention wasn't much but the fear of being anywhere near his Dad after that was intense. His son started it though with an eraser full of chalk. -

Sometimes but I don't think anywhere near the frequency as is reported or perceived. IMO he is more often guilty of poorly describing something or his position. He's often into subject matter where he lacks knowledge. He's like the used car salesman that tells his customer that the car comes with a very long warranty. Then the customer questions why the warranty is for only 1 year to which Trump to would reply and say: "A year is a long warranty. " In that exchange, Trump never intended to deceive the customer. He simply feels that a 1 year warranty is a long time - compared to nothing. -

Give Abrams credit, she's one of the very few willing to state her position on this on the record. It is, however, an outrageous position. -

Close friend of mine works in the ME often. He says that when you board a plane in Saudi Arabia you'll routinely see woman prior to departure remove their head gear, grab their purse, brush their hair and apply makeup and then fasten their seat belt. -

I'm not happy that Trump chose this point in time to draw a line in the sand over wall funding when the real problem here is not passing a fiscally responsible budget on time. Once again our federal government is unable and unwilling to carry out its most basic responsibilities.
