Let's see where members are watching the game today?
Lothar replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trying to decide if I should walk down to the sports bar here in Vancouver Washington to watch on their 40 foot screen. Or stay home and watch and pace the floor while my wife tries to keep me calm ... what to do, what to do. -
I believe it's because he's a waiver claim and not a free agent - once the playoffs start, rules change.

Perfect.

Everybody hangs around against the Chiefs. -
Defense is built to stop average and below offenses.
Lothar replied to TD716's topic in The Stadium Wall
You know, I used to feel this way back in the Kelly Thurman days also. Be a high risk, high reward defense because your offense is probably better than the opposition. If you get a couple timely sacks or turnovers, that's almost the ballgame. But Walt Corey's defense was kinda like this one. Bend but don't break. And that was with Bruce and Bennett! That's where you need a creative coordinator to change things up. It feels like the Bills' personnel (smaller and somewhat slower across the back 7) limits options. -
I agree somewhat but it's also why I'd like to see Elam getting more reps. It's important to have man corners when we pay teams like the Rams. Joe Marino mentioned coming into this game that Stafford was 30th or 31st coming into this game against man to man. Our primarily (very good) zone corners got beat by even better zone busting receivers and a head coach completely in his bag. This was one of the few games where Babich and McD had no answers.

Ravens vs Chargers MNF game thread (no Bills talk please)
Lothar replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Earl Campbell and his tree trunks for legs would be part of this conversation. -
I think it's that the more quality defensive lineman are available, the better our opportunity to get one. I think we may draft more than one if Daquan really has hit the wall. Oliver needs a solid 1-tech next to him and those can be found on day 2 and 3. But hopefully we also find another pass rusher?

Yes! I just heard Jim Nagy on Sirius (he scouts players for the Senior Bowl) say this will be a great year for defensive line, both inside and outside. He also said this will be a bad year for the offensive line. That should work well for the Bills!

Locked On with Joe Marino is solid. Off Tackle with John Fina and the Buffalo Rumblings crew is both entertaining and informative. Cover 1 with Greg and Anthony is good. I also like the Film Room with Cover 1 (Eric and Anthony Prohaska as well) but AP's own solo show - as much as I love his takes - can definitely drone on for 60 minutes plus.

Coleman has no separation skills. That's not going to work for Allen.

I think this is a silly argument. Kincaid has now proven himself and will likely get the lions share of tight end targets. We will run a lot more 12 personnel and disguise run/throw options better with Knox back.

Dude, you were a lot more rational and measured with your responses when you lived in Portland. It's a long season. Enjoy the story.

If Keenum is cut by the Texans, we apparently lose the Edmunds 3rd round pick. We need to either ensure the Texans keep him or we need to trade for him - Joe B says 6th or 7th but he might actually be worth a 4th to us in that scenario.

Congenital? Congenial maybe? 🙂

Not sure if this was mentioned among the discussion about jumping the Cowboys to get our pick but I heard a Peter King interview yesterday and he said that KC was also targeting Kincaid in the 1st.

TSW Mock Draft 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #27
Lothar replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Van Ness should be a top 15 pick. I think other than JSN, I'm not sure I go WR in the first (even though I like Addison and Flowers). I'd pick Van Ness if this unlikely situation came up. -
Matt Milano Contract Extension, as per Adam Schefter
Lothar replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Milano's game but he's not a good tackler. Joe Marino's podcast went through missed tackle rates for every defender and Milano's was atrocious - way worse than Edmunds. Although that problem may be endemic to our scheme. -
Link to Athletic article --- The battery of tests they had patients perform then are similar to the ones the athletes take now, only they’re modified to record the differences between brains that are merely healthy and ones that work on another level. Ally says the results are predictive. He couldn’t give out Purdy’s exact score because it’s privileged information but said it was in the “mid 90s.” That’s about where Brees, the former Saints quarterback famous for lightning-fast decision-making, scored and where two of the top passers in the league now, the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and the Bills’ Josh Allen, also landed. The Bengals’ Joe Burrow took the test while at LSU and agreed to allow S2 to disclose the information. Of course he did — he scored in the 97th percentile. --- The article goes on to say that safety, cornerback and linebacker are the other positions where heightened awareness and response time are reflected in scores and correlate with success.

Im convinced its coaching (Chiefs showing how to handle Bengals)

Our zone scheme works when: 1. We play average or worse QBs 2. We have Von Miller causing pressure in under 3 seconds When we don't, we need some creativity on defense and McD and Frazier need to see what other teams do before they implement a change. And that's kinda sad.
