  1. 6-8 catches a week? That would break franchise records. This kind of unrealistic approach will lead to constant disappointment.
  2. Really well done, guys. Listened to the whole 2 hours while on a long walk and both of you sounded as knowledgeable and entertaining as you seem on this board. I was surprised UCLA DT Josh Farmer didn't enter your discussions for any of the Round 2 picks, especially for Buffalo. It feels like he's a Bills' favorite.
  3. He'll also be just a year younger than Greg Rousseau is right now. I love the player but that injury combined with the age thing would make me go Amos if both are available.
  4. That's a tough comp because it's all relative. I think back then most of the players were at least 15-20% lighter at most positions than they are now.
  5. Even if the Bills decide he's worth a 5th round flyer, you know teams like KC don't apply the same rigorous rules as Beane would. There's no way he makes it past Round 3 unless there's a LOT more under the surface.
  6. I think many of you are being too harsh on the coaches for that specific game. When you lose (arguably) your best defensive player of an already statistically tepid defense, there's only so much you can do. I thought the D, given their state, did a good enough job in allowing the Bills offense to go win the game. They tried playing more man, caused a couple critical takeaways but simply didn't have the horses. It wasn't ideal but in these playoff matchups of best on best, I'd 100% be happy with giving Josh and the offense the ball to go tie or win the game. Every time.
  7. I don't see how we can take a legit RB prospect this year unless we plan to trade Cook. We are not carrying Cook, Davis, Johnson, draft pick and Gilliam on a 53 man roster.
  8. I'd say it's primarily his injuries. It's like McDermott says, "the best ability is availability". Especially if Babich and McD planned to change the scheme to utilize Bosa and Heucht as movable chess pieces. We could have had Rousseau and Sweat for under 40 mil per - 2 players in their prime for 3 or 4 years feels like a better swing than this. But I will gladly accept being wrong on this take.
  9. I hope I'm proven wrong - and I'm usually pretty optimistic with Beane's signings - but I'm not convinced he's a fit for this team.
  10. Up to 15.6 million? 12 million guaranteed? Yikes!
  11. I don't think so. Unless we trade Cook during the draft, and we are not carrying 4 RBs on the roster. Maybe a UDFA to get some looks in preseason.
  12. That's perfect for us. Field stretcher, with great analytics. This fits the Bills offense.
  13. Twitter is kind of a hellhole anyway. So maybe not?
  14. You can always roll savings into next year. That's not an issue - if anything, it gives us more options if potential trades open up.
  15. I think people need to use percentage of cap as they look at these numbers. It's completely reasonable that deals signed for comparable ascending players just 3 years ago are now around 33% higher (cap went from 208M to 279M).
  16. Thank you! He would have been a horrible signing for us.
  17. For his supposed speed, he does not get wide open at all. I watched every catch he made this year - he's good, and got better as the year went on, but not what you want in a separator.
  18. Look at percentage of cap when deals are signed. Don't get caught up in the actual numbers because everyone looks overpaid compared to those who signed earlier.
  19. There are a lot of podcasts that discuss how you can open up about 70 million in cap space (Cover 1, Joe Marino, etc. ) - not that we will but it's available with restructures and extensions. I don't think we will do all of it but we could do pretty much anything we need to this free agency if the right players came available. That said, I want to keep Rousseau and Benford. Those are prime positions, these are ascending players about to enter their prime. You don't become a better team casting those players aside.
  20. Maybe to restart his Sabres' goalie academy.
  21. I thought Joe Marino made a good point about Coleman ... that after 9 games, he was roughly on par with the top rookie receivers, 400 something yards, 3 touchdowns. After the injury, he wasn't the same player. I think the fans should give him -and Beane - a little grace considering that Allen wanted Coleman specifically, and he was doing really well. If he doesn't move forward this coming year, then have at it. Same thing with Kincaid. He had a top 10 all time rookie year for tight ends. Let's give him a chance to move past his injuries. I'd like sure-fire winners with my top picks also but that's not necessarily a given at the back end of the round.
  22. Marcus West only got promoted last year after former DL coach Washington left for the Bears so maybe this past year gets a pass. Besides special teams, this is the one area of the coaching staff that feels like a weakness. Even the better free agents we sign underperform while here. And then they look good when they leave (Poona Ford). Something about our scheme is amiss. Maybe it's because we don't let our best lineman play upwards of 70 percent of snaps? Maybe it's a position we just draft poorly? If so, it makes sense to trade a high pick or 2 for a difference maker. Or start looking for better coaching. Imagine we get someone to help out D line the way Kromer helped the OL.
  23. Where does Deone Walker rank among the 1Ts? Supposed to be very large and quick for his size, apparently showing it at the Senior Bowl. (Edit: Sorry, I see your comment that you weren't too impressed - could you elaborate?) Also, I think it's fortunate that DL is a strength in this draft and OL a relative weakness. We should be set on that side of the trench.
  24. In comparison, I was looking online for Superbowl tickets and they were in the $7000 - $10000 range so these seem relatively cheap!
