  1. At this point Josh should be standing out...there's a huge difference in ability between a guy who went #7 overall v.s. two guys who were 5th round picks. I'm very happy to hear Josh is showing some separation in these early practices but I think the big thing with Josh is how will he handle reading NFL defenses and the overall speed of processing information as a starting NFL quarterback. He is behind in that category because of his football experience so far playing for small schools and playing with and against lesser competition. If he can pick up the mental aspects to a "decent" degree than there's no way the other guys have a shot because Josh has all the natural ability in the world. Something also tells me Beane and McDermott would not have taken a shot on a kid that they didn't think had it upstairs so part of me is excited to see if he can adjust to the speed of the NFL quickly.
  2. Who knew being an Instagram Model could add so many years of world experience to somebody?
  3. I've never hated so many historical sports moments in my entire life until now
  4. I liked Winfield and Jabari Greer but I thought a lot of the other "big name" cornerbacks we've had over the years were overrated and/or prima donnas. Tre is already working his way towards being my favorite Bills corner of all-time.
  5. I remember being disappointed when we traded back and drafted a cornerback yet again...but at the time I didn't know anything about Tre because I'm not a huge college football guy and I was just never impressed by any of the other first round cornerbacks we would draft but as soon as I listened to his first press conference I was very impressed by this young man and this time it just felt different. Then getting to watch him play his rookie season was a real treat...the kid was an animal, all over the field, making plays getting the crowd worked up into a frenzy. I'm so proud to have this guy playing for my team and cannot wait to see him in action this season!
  6. There's a huge difference between very good and Dominant... and I do think our defense is trending that way but I would say still 2-3 years away from being Dominant
  7. Oh yeah definitely don't let my other post steer you from going to a Chiefs game...it is absolutely a fun football trip. The BBQ joints are delicious and were fun places to hang as there were lots of other Bills fans there too. The tailgating was great and the stadium is beautiful(I'm much more a fan of the traditional stadiums than the new ones being built these days). So for those things KC ranks very high on my list but as far as stuff to do in the city and nightlife KC ranks right at the bottom out of the away games I've done but I am one of those guys who can have fun anywhere I go so I certainly don't want it to seem like I am complaining about the time I had when I was there.
  8. Yeah the stadium was awesome. Great fans, fun gameday atmosphere. For a football trip Kansas City is a must...as far as the city itself I found it to be boring. The bar scene was pretty weak, not a ton of sightseeing stuff to do etc.
  9. Funny you bring up The Simpsons today...I grew up a huge Simpsons fan, used to watch all the classics religiously but the quality definitely dropped off as early as Season 10. I still watched past that but they were never truly the same and then I just eventually got older and had other stuff going on in life. But channel FXX airs reruns all the time and I was home watching a few episodes last night and then just this morning writer Mike Reiss was on Shred and Ragan(local talk radio show here in WNY) doing an interview about his new book about what goes into making a Simpsons episode and they obviously talked about the classics such as Flaming Moe's, Mr. Plow, and Whacking Day. It was an enjoyable listen here is the link http://www.wedg.com/2018/07/23/shredd-ragan-podcast-monday-7-23-18/...he also mentioned at the end how the newest episodes are starting to receive positive feedback from fans again and to be honest the last couple episodes I have seen from within the last year or so were much better than what they had been for years so maybe the Simpsons will make a comeback at some point. Good thread OP
  10. That's the thing with Green Bay and even Buffalo/WNY area too from an NFL city perspective I lump places like that in as regions so if you include the Milwaukee area(where my group is staying for a little bit when we do our Green Bay trip this season) Green Bay isn't nearly as bad for lack of entertainment if you were heading out there to catch a game. Same thing with going to Buffalo with the options to cross over the border and hit the Canadian Strip Clubs and Casinos or if you are bringing your family there is the option to do things like the Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds, Youngstown Jet Boat tour etc...if you lump the WNY region together there are tons of things to do.
  11. I know you were, I was agreeing with your point...I was just piggybacking off your comment and driving home the point further. It's amazing to me the mentality some fans have.
  12. What people are still failing to see is that we might potentially have one of our own kind of guys like that finally...Ok for the record I am definitely not saying Allen is going to be the next Brady but I have heard some say his ceiling could be a more athletic Roethlisburger. The point is if Allen turns out to be a legitimate franchise QB we will be able to hang with anybody else out there with the defense we are going to have as well.
  13. This whole thread just makes me want to travel back in time and play some backyard football, street hockey and shoot some hoops out in the driveway with my best buds
  14. Lol I didn't mean to sound like a jerk...I love small cities and really looking forward to this trip
  15. Just like we talked about in the other thread...these videos were done so much better than the current ones!
  16. We are gonna head in to Green Bay Saturday before the game and get a stadium tour and I assume there will be time to check out the museum too. Is there any good places to get some Brats??
  17. What ones are at the top of your list? For me the #1 has to be NOLA especially since I have never been there before but it looks like an amazing city for a football trip with the boys. Next on my list is Green Bay but I am actually doing that one this year. Can't wait to experience the tailgating and stadium there. After that for me would probably be Seattle.
  18. Buffalokie's thread gave me the idea to debate the most fun NFL cities for road games?
  19. Kansas City was really boring. I didn't think it offered anything more exciting than what you would find in Buffalo. The BBQ was great so the food aspect was a wash. Cleveland is like going to a slightly bigger Buffalo but without the kick ass food spots so I would consider that pretty even. I'm sure Green Bay doesn't stand out as a more exciting city than Buffalo either.
  20. Yes football trip! LOL...ok that makes me feel much better about your original reply now haha Oh Geez I've misinterpreted this whole topic from the start When you said NFL city I thought you were talking about the experience of heading out to that city for an NFL weekend, I may have inadvertently hi-jacked your original topic a bit, my apologies!
  21. Exactly. I know Buffalo is an away game destination for fans of other teams because of the atmosphere the area and the stadium have. I have been in big cities before wearing a Bills hat and have had people strike up conversations with me saying that they really wanna make it out to Buffalo for a game someday
  22. Well obviously Buffalo wouldn't be paradise for a pure vacation but is it really that boring for a football trip? There are lots of bars and awesome places to go out and get pub food(having awesome food spots is a big plus any football trip), if it's just the boys going you can catch the Canadian Ballet(which I know is a huge draw when out of towners come in for Bills games) we've got some Casinos in the area and just the nature of Buffalo filled with passionate football fans everywhere I would like to think Buffalo would be considered a fun city for a football game.
