  1. I'm already thinking ahead to the future and not worrying too much about what happens this season because we obviously still have some glaring holes. Number 1 is WR and I think everybody would agree on that. Part of me is nervous though if there will be any truly elite WR's that will also fit the personality traits McDermott and Beane stress. I say that because WR's are the biggest divas in the entire NFL, even the majority of the greats at that position. I know there are some exceptions but this is one position where I really hope we don't get scared off from trying to draft a highly skilled receiver if he doesn't fit the criteria 100%...with Allen's arm and a legit deep threat that could be dangerous! Has anybody else given this any thought or familiar with what big time receiver's are coming out of the draft next year and if you think they will be an ok fit here personality wise(not a huge college football guy so I'm not familiar with any of them at the moment)
  2. "The Cannon" Josh Allen.....sounds a bit 80s/90's WWF-esque but I like it
  3. It's bizarre seeing how orderly the parking lots looked before gametime
  4. Still has a long way to go but the potential is clearly there...after tonight now I can totally see the comparisons that were made to his ceiling being a more athletic Ben Roethlisburger
  5. He had a bad game for sure. Was out of position a few times and completely whiffed on a tackle but it's way too early to even worry about it at this point. It's called Growing Pains...Walter Payton's first game in the NFL he played awful to the point he was in tears afterwards. So let's not panic just yet.
  6. The kid is Raw(as was advertised) but my god the potential is there...give him some time to learn the NFL game and improve his fundamentals and bring in some legit Receiver's and we could have a very explosive offense in a couple years
  7. The atmosphere at the stadium has always been primarily geared by the college crowd and the table jumping antics etc. are what's in with that demographic nowadays. If you follow Barstool Sports they are always posting videos of this kind of stuff going on at college parties all over the United States. The reason why this is associated with Bills fans is Buffalo has much more of a college gameday atmosphere than any other NFL city.
  8. I used to really look forward to the Hall of Fame inductions back in the day but it hasn't been the same the last couple years as we are getting into the more modern era players, I can't explain why I don't enjoy it as much but IMO the speeches usually aren't as good as the classic ones but I thought Dawkins speech was amazing and inspiring. I can see why McDermott listed him as one of his favorite players he's ever coached.
  9. I think the Skinner trade(obviously along with all of the other additions/subtractions of this offseason) has finally put them into a place where they could legimately be a playoff team this season...I'm impressed with all of the moves Bott's made because I wasn't expecting this team to be in any position to be a playoff team going into this year.
  10. Has anybody else sat back and thought of the irony of how the Bills finally seem to be heading toward being a serious contender in the next few years yet the game itself is becoming almost unwatchable with all of the rule changes and officiating problems? Kinda makes me depressed. If not for the Bills building something right now I don't know how much interest level I would even have for the NFL. I've already quit watching the NBA after the circus that league has turned into.
  11. My comment was in reference to hearing about stories where New Era has a work environment where sleeping around in the company is encouraged, to the point where there are lots of work parties and functions where spouses are specifically not allowed to attend. I know this because I knew a guy who had a good position with the company whose wife made him leave the company because she was aware of what was going on. Does this happen at other companies? Sure but I did get a good chuckle when I heard the news about Russ going to NE after hearing about those stories.
  12. Yep I've heard the same thing about New Era but I didn't wanna be the one to say anything but yes they probably sought out Russ once he was a free agent because of how well he will fit in with the culture there
  13. Khalil Mack is awesome...that's who I was hoping for when we traded up for Sammy but the truth is with this regime in charge it's time to look forward and stop looking in the past. McBeane are going to continue to build this thing up in house with draft picks and occasionally plug in a free agent where they see the value meets the need. There's no way they are splurging on a Ferrari in free agency.
  14. But with Josh Allen I don't even think it's a matter of ruining him by starting him too soon...it's simply the matter that he's taking a MAJOR jump from the level of play and competition he saw at Wyoming v.s. what he's in store for in the NFL and he needs a little bit of time to get used to playing ball at this level. In Allen's case it does make sense to sit back and absorb a little bit IMO.
  15. I'm curious what kind of things was he saying that made him so hilarious? He seems like he could be a character(in a good way)
  16. Love hearing all this good stuff about Wyatt Teller! I am really rooting for him to become a legitimate starter on the O-line...if he pans out this could really turn out to be one of our best drafts of all-time
  17. I feel pretty confident in saying there's a 99% chance he doesn't become the next Brady or Rodgers...would I love to be wrong? Absolutely Just because I don't think Brady or Rodgers is his ceiling doesn't mean I don't think he can be a great QB in the NFL
  18. Exactly. Even Allen at his absolute best will not be another Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers with pure accuracy all the time. I see him being in the gunslinger mold of a Brett Favre where he will throw a bad pick here and there but he will also make some absolute beauties that will make it all worth it. If our defense ends up being as good as I think it can be and they bring in some weapons for Allen and shore up the offensive line I am absolutely fine with having that kind of QB. Will make for some exciting ball games
  19. That's crazy when you think about how that stadium opened up in 1973?(I could be off but I think that's when it opened up). The Bills only true era of success in that stadium was the late 80s/early 90s...let's hope we can put something together real soon and have a few more good memories before it's time for the new stadium
