  1. I know, it was a classic battle. We actually came out on top in that one. Who woulda thought?
  2. My only real positive is the Sabres are looking promising.
  3. The Bills Mafia namesake was originated by a good guy named Del Reid who does a lot of really impressive charity work in the community. Only after the fact did it start to become associated with the table jumping and other stupid antics in the parking lot. Me personally I miss the old school 12th Man days but gotta change with the times I guess.
  4. He's on an absolute tear right now. I was very happy when we acquired him but he is far exceeding my expectations right now. The Eichel Pominville Skinner line is on fire. Feels so good to finally have an exciting sports team to follow in Buffalo.
  5. They are showing signs of progress. Could be a fringe playoff team this year. Should only continue to keep getting better each year from here on out.
  6. That's correct. Season one was mostly focused around Bart and then it gradually shifted towards the shenanigans of Homer.
  7. That was a fun game. This was also the game where Kyle Williams had that interception. This was the year me and my buddies started up our Bills road trip tradition that is still going strong today. We almost picked this game but ended up seeing the Bills get lit up by Peyton and the Broncos later in the season instead
  8. Sorry for your loss.. Last year the Sabres had a home and home series against the Penguins and me and my buddy took our fathers and his uncle down to Pittsburgh for the weekend. The game in Pittsburgh was Saturday night and the game being played in Buffalo was on Friday night so we caught that game at a bar and then continued to check out a few more establishments. We ended up finishing the night off at a place called The Smiling Moose that had a very attractive and busty bartender. A total knockout! As we're leaving the bar and trying to figure if we should walk it back to the hotel or go for the Uber confusion breaks out amongst the group and someone in the group says something about were leaving The Smiling Moose....without missing a beat my old man goes "The Smiling Moose? I thought we were just at the Spectacular Jugs"
  9. I couldn't tell ya, as a Buffalo sports fan I haven't spent much time pondering over this
  10. Atmosphere was fun and electric, a nice change of pace from the regular Sunday afternoon routine. I forgot how much fun night games can be, they almost have a rock concert element to them. With that I said I would agree that it wasn't on the level of the Dallas game in 07 which was to be expected with the state of the team and the fact that we didn't go quite as long since our last Monday Night game as it was when we got the Dallas game. There seemed to be an extra buzz throughout the air in the tailgating lots. Atmosphere for Thurman's jersey retirement was excellent. All in all it was a fun game to go to and I'm glad I got to make it because as I'm slowly turning into an old fart and losing my lust to party lol if we go another 10 years before getting another Monday Night game I don't know if I will be in attendance. So I just tried to soak everything in because last night was another reminder of what a special place New Era Field can be.
  11. Haha that's great, even though it's a simple story as a retro fan and nostalgia junkie I love hearing random stories like that
  12. Not shocking to me at all but interesting stuff. I've always said it would be amazing if a tell-all behind the scenes book ever came out about the Super Bowl era Bills off the field life but I feel like the Bills have tried distancing themselves from that stuff as much as they can. I've heard alot of them admit on record that they went pretty hard but none of them every discuss any details. I read the book about the 90's Cowboys "Boys Will Be Boys"(at least I think that's what it was called) and it was pretty wild stuff. Also in the Brett Favre book "Gunslinger" it got into some details of how he lived off the field back in his day and he was another maniac.
  13. Those Bills teams would honestly rank right up there as one of the hardest partying pro sports teams of all time. I don't think the younger generation realizes how wild those guys were.
  14. The problem is he isn't talented enough or hasn't shown anything yet in the NFL where he can get away with this kind of stuff. For one it was a different time when guys like Jim and Brett Favre were running wild but they also were good enough to have people look the other way. This is a very bad look for a kid who was already on a short leash and running out of "second chances"
  15. I still enjoy the camaraderie with fellow Bills fans even though we've been in a constant state of mourning for almost 20 years now. But yeah the connections and bonds I have with other die-hard Bills fans make it a fun past-time right now while the actual product isn't a fun past time at all.
  16. Gotta admit it will be tough sitting through the rest of this season if things continue to be this bad. Going into today I was actually excited to watch our defense play, but they were just as bad as our offense. I will continue to watch every game this season because I'll always watch win or lose but as a season ticket holder there is no way I see myself going to the rest of the games and I am seriously considering dropping my seasons after this year. It is really becoming a chore to watch the Bills instead of a passion and that just breaks my heart.
  17. Terrible post. 80% of this board probably doesn't even live in WNY currently so you lost all credibility with your first sentence.
  18. Yeah that's crazy, the Bills-Patriots game feels like it's been 7 years ago but I'm finding it hard to believe the B&B reboot was that long ago but it's funny how your mind can play tricks on you. Yeah I was excited for it too, and I liked the episodes I caught but I didn't watch it religiously unfortunately because I just had too much going on at the time. I think there's probably some truth to that about the younger generations. Beavis and Butthead didn't really run in syndication much at all, and you have to think about all the cartoon shows still around or ones that came out after B&B The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park. There is a whole generation out there that didn't grow up on Beavis and Butthead and the majority of people from our generation are busy raising families and working two jobs to make ends meat right now. To me Beavis and Butthead is a classic case of you had to have experienced it in its heyday to really get it, so I can see why the younger generation didn't get hooked.
  19. I'm honestly not sure what the numbers were but I just remember there not being a very strong buzz about it when it came back, I just think way too much time had gone by and people had moved on to other things. Just my opinion. Wow that was 2011 when they came back? I thought it was only 2-3 years ago. It's crazy how fast time flies by these days!
