  1. 1999, since they won 11 games and earned a widecard birth. The 2020 Bills have accomplished nothing yet...
  2. Yeah! Now its likely I won't have to watch those damn Copper Fit commercials with Jerry Rice anymore...
  3. His job will be to buy the smelling salts...
  4. For those interested, this is the 50th Anniversery commemorative video. It's a powerful and sobering reminder that history can--and likely wiil--repeat if its forgotten...
  5. What would you expect? Fifty years ago was grampa and grandma's generation. The same a WW I would have been for kids in 1970. Young people always look forward, hardly ever back. Which is why history repeats, generation after generation...
  6. Great coach, better man. That's a wonderful legacy for anyone...
  7. Agreed. First down runs by Gore were essentially giving up a down. If they can be more productive in the run game with Motor/Moss, the offense will have significantly more flexibility...
  8. From the Pats own website after he was drafted... https://www.patriots.com/news/patriots-com-draft-profile-qb-jarrett-stidham COMPARABLE NFL PLAYER A.J. McCarron, QB, Houston: McCarron is a well-traveled backup who has shown some ability when given a chance to start. Stidham has a similar skill set.
  9. Back when both VH and Micky D's were still good...
  10. Brady's footwork, release and---above all, his recognition--all look the same in that video as what we've seen for the past 19 years. And they're well ahead of Fromm's college tape, IMO. Not going to lose sleep or get overly excited by the pick. Until he gets on the field, this is just another TSW "Tastes Great, Less Filling" multi-page extravaganza destined for the junk heap of time...
  11. Arm strength doesn't mean dropping balls in a bucket. NFL QBs have to throw the majority of their balls with less arc than college QBs due to the better recovery time of DBs, tighter coverage, etc. All of Fromm's passes (that I've seen) have a pronounced arc, even his dump offs. If he can't overcome that, it won't matter what kind of head he has on his shoulders...
  12. "....Nagy has been the Southeast Area Scout for the Seattle Seahawks for the past five years and has been an NFL scout for nearly two decades." "Nagy was part of teams that appeared in six Super Bowls, including four winners (Green Bay Packers XXXI, New England Patriots XXXVIII, New England Patriots XXXIX, and Seattle Seahawks XLVIII)." https://www.seniorbowl.com/jim-nagy-named-new-executive-director-of-rsb (Edit: Mike Griffth seems like a real dick...)
  13. Drafting well is the secret to NFL success. The Ravens have done it for years--and now the Bills are becoming known for it as well. It keeps theteam competitive and helps them overcome (and in some cases, resist) the league-wide feeding frenzy that drives player contracts to insane levels. Whether we pay the going rate, or make a hard decision to let a player go, the good news is that Beane can probably plug a hole with a quality player that can keep the team at a high level (QB being the league-wide exception, as always)...
  14. Schoen had to be involed in that pick as well. It looks like everyone missed, however: DRAFT ANALYSIS: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2011/profiles/charles-harris?id=2558001 "Really solid pick here. I think he can play four-down or 3-4 linebacker; in Miami, it's four-down. He has a good first step and is explosive off the edge. This young man is adept at a pass rusher." -- Mike Mayock
  15. "...Harris, the 22nd overall pick in the 2017 draft, had just 3 1/2 sacks in 41 games with Miami." Man, who was running the scouting department on that one? Chris Greer (GM), Adam Gase (Head Coach), Joe Schoen (Player Personnel--uh oh ).
  16. I have a strict rule about socially distancing Florio...
  17. It is indeed Harry Bosch. The series is slightly different than the books in terms of his supporting cast characterizations, but Titus Welliver does a great job as Harry. The format is to combine two of Connelly's Bosch books into each season's storyline. There are some tweaks to the plots so they aren't 100% consistent with the books, but all in all, it's a good representation. The show takes its time showing police procedure in a realistic, rather than over-dramatized way, so it's different than most TV schlock. I will miss it very much when it wraps up next season...
  18. Ridiculous and Dan Shaughnessy in the same sentence? Nah. Never happen...
  19. Yes. Canceled by Amazon after next season... Michael Connelly: “I’m proud of what we have accomplished with Bosch and look forward to completing the story in season 7.” He adds, “It’s bittersweet but all good things come to an end and I am happy that we will be able to go out the way we want to. This started seven years ago with showrunner Eric Overmyer and me writing the pilot. We plan to write the last episode together as well. We’ll leave behind the longest running show so far on Amazon and it will be there to be discovered by new viewers for as long as people are streaming. That is amazing to me. The other thing is that we would not have come all this way without Titus Welliver. There could not have been a better actor to play this role or a better team player to build this show around. He’ll be Harry Bosch for the ages.” https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/bosch-season-7-amazon/
  20. What? So Ryan Talbot speculates in an article for the Syracuse newpaper ("Those comments make me think that Stenberg could have been in play for Buffalo"), his story get's picked up by PFT and suddenly they become CORRECT or a FACT? Making Kirby's Duvernay information INCORRECT? Climb aboard. There's plently of room left on my 'ignore user' wagon...
  21. Tell that to a fan base spoiled by the last 15 years...
