  1. Takes one to know one...
  2. The commercials better be good...
  3. Sounds more like Wood's lawyer/agent taking away any option the Bills would have had to ask for a portion of the SB back--even though there's no indication that the team did so. This isn't on the team, IMO. It's a legal maneuver by Wood's representatives...
  4. The 'ignore user' feature is great. Solves the problem easy-peazy ...
  5. If he files before June 1 the 2018 cap hit is $10.3 million. If he files after June 1, it's $8.225 million. He can't use the term 'retire' today due to CBA requirements if the team want's him to go the June 1 route. I doubt very much that the Bills asked him to pay back any of the SB, since it's their doctor's who certified he was healthy when he signed the extension. EDITED: Even though Wawrow's AP piece says "...According to the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, teams can ask for a portion of bonus money to be returned if a player retires before his contract expires," there's no indication the Bills asked him to do so. OTOH, his agent/lawyer probably advised him not to use the term 'retire' just so they wouldn't legally be exposed to such a request, taking it off the table. Eric would have loved to say 'retire' but the lawyers got in the way, IMO...
  6. Not much to see here IMO. The Bills will save $2 million against the 2018 cap if Wood retires after June 1 ($8.225 cap hit vs. $10.3 million today). However, they'll add $2 million in dead money in 2019. In the end, he gets the same amount of money from the team. But it F'd up his retirement press conference once the FO figured out the cap ramifications would benefit the team by delaying the official announcement to after June 1. Eric's probably pissed that he had all his buddies show up for nothing. Probably why Fitz said Wood has to pick up the tab for dinner!
  7. Yep. THe NFL is still the best way to attract eyballs of anything in TV Land (10 of the top 20 highest rated and 44 of the top 100 programs in 2017)... http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/more-tv-news/the-100-highest-rated-tv-programs-of-2017-60-sports-40-everything-else/
  8. Saga?? He's been hurt for about one calendar year (since game 11 of 2016). So out about the same time as a guy with an ACL. Prior to that, he started 72 consecutive games. Not sure if its people's short attention spans or just the Madden-ization of the NFL, but why the rush to dump a valuable asset? If he rehabs this offseason and gets the problem behind him, he's a very effective OT and someone who can help this team...
  9. Pretty accomplished guy. He'll be a GM before long... http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Bills-add-Lake-Dawson-as-Assistant-Director-of-College-Scouting/d814c41a-1d02-4bd4-ac12-de8b8a50831d
  10. I'd like to keep Glenn if he gets checked out medically. Up until the final games of 2016, when the foot injury hit, he was among the upper tier of OTs. With the loss of Wood, letting Cordy go gives you an the OL essentially anchored by a second year up and comer (Dawkins) and an effective but slowly declining vet (Incognito). The other three positions are absolute question marks, and not very good ones at that. A healthy Glenn would be a major addition to that line, more than anything they could get back in a salary dump and/or trade package, IMO...
  11. Thanks SDS for the new, expanded 'ignore users' feature. It's a godsend...
  12. Dumb ass Rex wouldn't know what to do with analytics if it hit him over the head, so no direction from him. McD has shown he want's nothing to do with anything he didn't design-build himself, so nada input there. I hope the analytics guys had fun twiddling their thumbs and playing Candy Crush while they were here. Analytics is only good if you have a willing user....
  13. Yawn. Frankly, I don't believe anything the FO (or the media) say in the off-season...
  14. Gilmour's Comfotably Numb solo always makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck...
  15. I'm sure Rex was only interested in foot size analytics, so 'robust' was always going to be a misnomer....
  16. Huh. I guess different folks have different takes. I look at Costas injecting his own opinions as a 'maturation' thing. He's been involved in an incredible amount of sports history and has been doing this forever. As guys like Costas grow older, I'm sure it gets harder and harder for them to just be tele-prompter readers and generic 'talent.' If he wants to say what he wants, I say fine. Bully, Bully. Some may have differing POVs, but in an utra PC-world I thought he was interesting and thoughtful and a guy I liked to listen to. Peter King's another great commentator who says what he wants--and could care less if you disagree--who always has something interesting to say. As opposed to look-at-me A-holes like Kornholer and SAS...
  17. I'm sorry I opened this post. Gotta have more self-discipline....
  18. 9.38 inches seems big enough...http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=4732
  19. Nah. The ignore feature's your friend...
  20. Last I heard, having an arm lock on a guy and preventing him from running to the ball is holding....
  21. And yet they got the lead in the first half by NOT playing to that tendency. That play calling was brilliant. I guess Hackett's mind goes numb (or his balls shrivel up) when the pressue is on...
