  1. They won the west the two years in a row before he got there. So it wasn't a huge mess. He reworked the bull pen going into the season and then reworked it again at the trading deadline. Both were disasters. Look up Matt Latos, He should have picked him up to pitch batting practice, At least the Dodger hitters would have been full on confidence after facing him, The opposing teams sure were. I am not trying to pick on you, You seem to give little thought to how difficult it is to succeed. Just because they may have done it once before, that doesn't necessary mean they can do it again. It is not the cut and dried process you make it out to be, Try the name Scotty Bowman. Everywhere but in Buffalo.
  2. We've been down this road before. You don't speak for all Bills fans in Syracuse, or Syracuse fans, All the Syracuse fans I know were glad Marrone left SU, He had a lucky last year just like he had a lucky last year with the Bills,
  3. I follow the Dodgers. When Mattingly was fired, half of the posts said they got the wrong guy and they should have fired Friedman. Reading that wasn't too much different than reading two bills drive.
  4. The logic is if he won the lottery once, it makes him a better chance to win it again. Maybe he is another Tom Donahoe or Bobby Bethard. Guaranteed to move somewhere else and win,
  5. You missed the 4 sacks, although he doesn't have that much control over that.
  6. Thanks for posting this pic, it was the first thing that came to mind. If I remember correctly it was on the front of the sports section on the Courier the day after the game. RIP, Paul.
  7. I agree, so really there is more pressure on EJ in this game than he will ever have in his career. No one mentions the Bengal defense is 6th in the league in sacks. Against our line, that says it all.
  8. I looked to me that he slipped and ended up going lower than he wanted to. And he hit him in the hip,not the thighs.
  9. I also like the Schwartz defense better. When we get as few sacks as we have been getting, especially when compared to last year, something is not right. Oddly Miami has two studs in there line and their productions is down. They had the guy from the Canadian league, I think his name is Charles and then they add Suh. They should be a terror but at this rate Charles will have more sacks last year then the entire Fin team this year.
  10. They can't run. That is the problem.
  11. At this stage of the game the Fins are looking like the Bills of the 70's.
  12. Something about his arms. He couldn't compete in the cold and the wind.
  13. This coming Sunday, he will break out of his slump.
  14. First positive is, If your gonna bet whipped, it is best to get whipped early in the year. Should make the team realize they have to stay focused and can't let up. They shouldn't buy into the hype. Second positive, is I'm impressed the way you stayed positive in the Shout Box during the game. Never gave up. Hope the Bills follow your lead.
  15. If memory serves me right, two sacks in two games. Something isn't right. Getting 10 sacks off of Johnny Football is good for a big paycheck but it isn't going to help win this kind of game. I still think Woods is a #1 Receiver. Tyrod did what he had to do but he had happy feet quite often.
  16. The Patriot's use a Tight End cloaking device. The reason it is so effective is it only works on Defensive players. Everyone one else can see them. I think Gilmore is unaware of this. This conclusion was developed in the late 90's when Ben Coates went consistantly uncovered during Bill's games. NE has a tendency to over use it when they are close to the goal line.
  17. Slightly off topic but catchers in baseball really take a beating. Grandal, the catcher for the Dodgers, has been out twice this year after taking foul balls off the mask. Wouldn't surprize me at all if they have the same issue.
  18. I may be in the minority but I would take four straight losses in the SB versus one win if you gonna tell me I have to go through another 15 years like the last 15 years. During the early 90's there was anticipation expectation of a win every week. And it just wasn't those four years, there was at least one year on either side of the streak that they were equally impressive. I lived through the late 60's and the 70's teams, so I was more than happy to enjoy the extended run. But then, I am a Dodger fan and maybe I am just used to the "wait until next year' phrase.
  19. I also want to thank you for your effort. I can tell you how much I missed your commentary at the end of last year. Glad to see you back and I hope all is well. For me your post game summary it the post game starting gate for conversation.
  20. Not if you figure it would have been worth it at 10 Mil
  21. If it doesn't screw his confidence, this is good work for Darby. In the long run it will help him.
  22. Good protection by the line. It does make a difference.
  23. This EJ guy sucks. He could have tucked the ball in and ran for 25 yards.
  24. I agree. Looks like he took and elbow to the helmet.
  25. Woods is better than a lot of posters think. Trading him would be a big mistake.
