  1. For the same reason you bet rid of a GM that took you to 3 straight super bowls. For some reason even a used car sometimes looks good compared to the one you are driving every day. Maybe the only real difference is it is new to you and you don't know where the rattles are.
  2. When these two were together you couldn't call it a sports talk show. It was a sports yell show. They must have thought the loudest guy wins. I would have bet big money both of them would have been unemployed after that. Go figure. When Cowherd had the Sunday morning NFL show, I really liked the segment where he had the guys picking the winners and they would go through and explain, in part, the Vegas line. I don't know the names of the guys doing the picking but they were low key and informative.
  3. I believe you are correct. Back wen Nolan Ryan was nearing the end of his career I remember reading an article on how freakish he was. In order to throw at the velocity he did, the tendons in his arm had to be flexible. Typically players his age would have lost elasticity and therefore would have lost velocity. This did not happen to him, or at least they did not stiffen as much as what is typical. Brady probably falls into the same category.
  4. My prayers are with you.
  5. Congrats on the work you did. Nice presentation. I had the Bills with 5 wins going into the season, so they really outperformed my expectations.
  6. No and I don't remember him doing that.
  7. Why should you feel bad for him, he probably really enjoys what he is doing. I still read the Sunday Syracuse paper. If you grew up doing it there is quite bit of satisfaction in the process.
  8. I used to pitch fastpitch softball. There were times when someone may have homered and at the end of the inning I walked off looking down. There were times I didn't look down. In either case I was analyzing what I had done wrong. Wrong location, didn't execute spin, wrong pitch to the wrong guy. How did anyone ever know Fergy wasn't doing the same thing. So I never did understand why this was taken against him. Probably all started with a sports writer.
  9. Unfortunately you saw him when he was already well downhill. Your father and Uncle were correct. Watching him was so very painful when you familiar with the earlier teams. Even Kelly had trouble with the sideline passes at the end.
  10. Totally agree with this. The guy was underrated because he happen to look down while walking off the field.
  11. The Kemp of the championship teams was the team leader and game manager. He was a decent passer. He was good enough to direct those teams to conference championships. The Kemp of the late 60's lost his arm strength and could not throw a sideline pass. Unfortunately, he kept trying. I used to say he was excellent at isolating the linebacker, for the interception. As bad as he was at that point and as much as I hated him then, you still have to give him credit for those previous years.
  12. I really enjoy posts that can be interpreted in more than one way.
  13. Can you really use Doug and plan in the same sentence?
  14. Nice of you to mention the two misses by Kraft. Can you imagine if those two were hired and let go here, for a guy that failed in Clevelend, hpw ,much bitchen there would be. I disagree on the last line though. If the next coach only goes one or two years, the Bills will look even more like a place not to coach. That sort of puts a bit more pressure on this decision.
  15. I remember when Greg Williams was "impressive."
  16. Make that 40 years and name one!
  17. I would put money on having Belichick here would be the equivalent of having Scotty Bowman in Buffalo. How did that work out?
  18. Maybe not but at least it is a start. How often do you actually get this much?
  19. Solomon quit coaching years ago.
  20. I really don't get how someone with so little experience at upper level coaching gets so much interest. But I think the DC and OC are more important than the HC. There is only one exception to that, and he has Brady to back him up.
  21. If this happened, how would it affect the cap?
  22. Isn't that the definition of a Tsunami?
  23. I agree with you, revisionist is the perfect word to describe it. It was Marrones' dream job. I guess Bill's fans didn't know the Syracuse job was also his dream job. It seems we are forgetting the pitiful offense and the vanilla play calling, although calling it vanilla is actually a complement in this case. He left because after two years he knew he only had what he had because of the defense.
  24. The statement about how fast someone can process information, IMO, is dead on. Einstein was a genius but how fast did he process information. I doubt it was fast, his field of expertise didn't require fast. I believe that may be the biggest non-physical attribute a QB needs. Posts keep referring to Kelly's score. Didn't he call most of the plays when he was in the game? It looked like he did a pretty good job at it.
  25. TT had first rate receivers. Woods and Sammy are first rate. For two years Woods was talked down here. It wasn't his fault the QB couldn't get him the ball. If the ball was thrown his way, more often than not it was off target. Not until Sammy was out this year and TT started targeting Woods, could you see just how good Woods is. Most here think Woods is a 3rd receiver. I think he is a 1B. He should sign with the Pats. If Brady can do that with Hogan, I can only imagine what he can do with Woods. This is Clays problem also. I'd like to see a stat on how often Clay is open and doesn't get looked at.
