Several folks have mentioned Nick McCloud who I liked in PS. Hopefully one of these fellas can step up. McD seems to have a knack for developing dbs. Time to work some magic.

I realize you're an intelligent fella, but I have you pegged as comic relief. If you're going to provide analysis as well, I'll have to adjust my strategy accordingly. I'm classifying this post as zone coverage, though maybe now you're mixing in some individual interlocutor interaction. Still think the meme blitz ought to be part of your overall package, don't care what the coaches say.

Buffalo #1 NFL City ... for Bad Weather as per The Weather Channel
Dr. Who replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's because of all the blowhard bandwagon Patriot* fans. -
That was the constant advice of the blind sage played by Keye Luke who among his many roles was son number 1 in the old Charlie Chan movies.

Does Allen miss having Barkley in the room?

This is possible. The new dog was a delay tactic. Time to step up. -
Happy Birthday! Anxiety is a sign of intelligence . . .

Two threads started at the same time. Bad news travels fast.

I routinely see an old movie or listen to a song that was great just yesterday when I suddenly realize that was thirty or forty years ago. Also, there's a strange old man looking at me every time I stare in the mirror. Really creepy the way he mimicks everything I do.

Krebs may get a cup of coffee late season, but he should stay in Rochester and gel with Peterka and Quinn. Tuch's recovery time from surgery has been speculated to take till late January. Olympic break is early February.

I was enjoying KC's struggles and the thought that we had provided a blueprint to discombobulate Kermit & Co. Not so fun when the proposal is that the black hats have figured out our offense. Still think the main issue is oline and lack of running game. Things have changed and I am pretty old, but in the Kgun days, teams knew what we were going to do and they generally could not stop us, regardless. Thurman Thomas and a superior oline made a world of difference.

Josh Allen vs. Mahomes: Last 32 regular season starts
Dr. Who replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is semantic and something of an intellectual quibble folks mainly aren't interested in except as a reason to argue over a quibble. Objectively, the winner is the fella, gal, or team that wins the trophy. Whether they do so because of luck, talent, bad officiating, etc. or a combination (frequently the latter) is something one assesses on a case by case basis. In general, one can say having great players increases your odds of winning. I think we have some great players starting with Allen. -
I am cautiously optimistic. They are rebooting yet again because 1) They tore down in the tank years too severely, 2) Then they tried shortcuts through FA and trading away draft picks like candy for veterans that didn't work out. It takes years to develop a goalie. Portillo and Levi give one hope, but they are probably three years out best case scenario. Next year, they have to bring in some good stop gap goalies, have to. This year, we are trying to develop the young fellas and land a top three draft pick. Not exactly a tank, but there's no way they can be good even with effort because there's not enough talent to be anything more. The Pegulas to this point have not been good hockey owners. They've meddled as opposed to the Bills where they ultimately stepped back and let McD and Beane establish a winning culture and do their thing. Hopefully Adams and Granato are the right hires. Patience is the only tenable strategy. Hard when you've had ten awful years.

Breaking News: Odell Beckham is set to be released
Dr. Who replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they acquire him by waiver claim, they also acquire his massive contract. Don't think anyone is going to claim him on those terms. He'll become a free agent. -
Yes, understood. That was implicit in the rhetoric I chose, but I suppose I should have stipulated in the manner you have done.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Scary, but Plenty of Treats
Dr. Who replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
You might be right, but then I surmise the implicit counter to what I expect is that the "sum is greater than the parts." I don't see it. To me, Josh's superior athleticism is bailing out a line that at best is inconsistent. And I suggest the FA signing of Morse was meant to provide an anchor. Morse is not terrible, but he is perhaps somewhat above average if one prioritizes pass blocking, which I think plausible in today's game. I'm going to stubbornly claim that Beane ought to invest in more talent there, whether it fits his modus operandi or not.
