  1. I partially agree. Jumbo Elliot got into trouble when he was on the Jets. He and three other people destroyed a bar in Long Beach. https://nypost.com/1999/07/11/unnecessary-roughness-by-jets-trio/ Let's just say that I am also aware of a couple of lesser unreported incidents. That said, several years ago I sat with him at a coffee shop which he owned, and spoke with him for approx. 30 minutes. He was 100% normal. He had lost at least 50 pounds. He donated money to the volunteer firefighters and owned 2 businesses in the community. He told me about how it was to play against Bruce Smith, and that he had coached Jason Peters when he was a udfa. When I commented how strong Peters was, he implied that he was stronger lol. Maybe he was. I'm certainly not a doctor, but I suspect that being off the roids (and almost certainly booze as well) contributed to this drastic change of behavior.
  2. I never believed that Martin was bullied. How many NFL left tackles are bullied? What I do believe is that Incognito is a thuggish, gigantic man with super strength who was roided out for many years. To this day I think that steroids are quite prevalent in the NFL. They are the elephant in the room that fans can't or won't see. Remember Jose Canseco anyone? In high school he was so shy that he barely spoke at all. Jose went from 195 lbs to 245 lbs and actually got faster. This once ever so shy person was then driving around well over 100 miles per hour and fooling around with Madonna (not a rarity for steroid users in those days lol). I think that Ruben Foster (for those who remember him) could have been an all time great linebacker, but off the field issues (and some injuries) screwed up his career. He was fast and extremely vicious, with super human strength. He was a predator on the field and a maniac off of it. Was he on steroids? All we can do is guess. I am not on an anti-steroid crusade. I wish the players well but I have no, nor do I want any control of what these players do to their bodies. The NFL is entertainment to me. I do however believe that untraceable steroid usage is still widespread in the NFL. Do I have any evidence to present? Of course not. That said, some of these off field incidents do raise a few eyebrows, to say the least. Of course, this is jmo.
  3. See the smile awaitin' in the kitchen Food cookin' and the plates for two Feel the arms that reach out to hold me In the evening, when the day is through Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
  4. I wonder how you're feeling There's ringing in my ears And no one to relate to 'cept the sea Who can I believe in? I'm kneeling on the floor There has to be a force Who do I phone? The stars are out and shining But all I really want to know Oh won't you show me the way, every day I want you to show me the way
  5. Yes, him. The best blocker who ever played in Buffalo. All teams have made some poor trades, but trading Jason Peters was easily one of the worst, dumbest trades in NFL history.
  6. Wow!!! One can see from hundreds of miles away what a good person that gentleman is.
  7. So meet me tonight, just where the light shines, from a window, and, as I take your hand, say that you'll be mine tonight. Oh, I would be so glad just to have a love like that, Oh, I would be true and I'd give my life for you.
  8. Seen a lot of things in this old world When I touch them they mean nothing girl Ooh baby, here I am Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours! I'm yours!
  9. He was pretty bad on the Bills but somehow decent on the Vikings iirc.
  10. He really was. I am a huge Crimson Tide Fan and I was strongly against that pick. He was in fact the 4th or 5th best blocker on that team and was struggling with knee injuries as you say.
  11. Another honorable mention would be OT Greg Jerman. Greg was cut by the Dolphins. What did the Bills do? They picked him up and put him in at left tackle where he was bad beyond words. He could not pass block or run block and our qbs and rbs were getting slaughtered. I would watch game hoping that no Bills players would be seriously injured or killed. This poor guy would get tossed around like a frisbee. As of 2014 he is a lawyer and an Assistant DA in Texas. I wish him the best.
  12. I'm going to run with a guard Marcus Spriggs. He not only was unable to block, he didn't even try. Once Rob Johnson got hit late and was laying on the floor bleeding. Spriggs didn't give the defender a second look, let alone attack him. He just glanced at RJ and kept walking. The young fans probably have no idea just how bad our offensive lines were for just so long.
  13. Well, there's a brand-new place I've found Where people go from miles around They come from everywhere And if you drop in there You might see anyone in town Going to a go-go, everybody's Going to a go-go, well, come on now Don't you want to go, yeah
  14. Hurts has spent his entire college and NFL careers on teams that ranged from very good to great. When he was Alabama he was the 2nd best passer on the team, and some Crimson Tide Fans make the case that he was 3rd best. Whatever. He was always a very good, strong runner who made great decisions wrt when to take off and run, and a good passer. I never saw Hurts panic. He is completely calm, smart, and focused, and btw unusually strong. If you put Hurts on the Patriots, Jets, Giants, etc. I don't think that he would fare very well. The Eagles have a defense that gets them turnovers and good field position. Their offensive line is great, as is Barkley. I would kill to have Davonta Smith on the Bills and he is their #2 receiver. In other words, he has everything he could possibly need on the Eagles and in this scenario he is everything they need at QB and more. Is he Josh Allen or Mahomes? No, but who is? This thread asks if he was the Super Bowl MVP. Damn right he was! He ran for 72 yards and a touchdown, and threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, as well as picking up clutch first downs. The Chiefs took Barkley out of the game and it was up to Hurts to come through which he did, clearly imo, so yes; he deserved to be MVP over any other single player. Jmo.
  15. Do you not see how the above sentences contradict? If McDermott tells him what position he wants Beane to draft and Beane does as McDermott wishes, how is this having autonomy? For example, if Beane wants a defensive tackle and McDermott wants a corner, are you making the case that Beane will win out every time? The relationship cannot completely be equal imo. I think that one of the HAS to have more power than the other. Also, do you think that Beane can fire McDermott? I for one strongly doubt it. In any event, I find this to be an interesting topic.
  16. Do you excuse McDermott? I find it impossible to believe that Beane has autonomy, or even the deciding vote on who to draft and when. Many seem to forget that when the Bills traded the Mahomes pick to KC and drafted Tre White, Beane wasn't even with the team. It would even appear that McDermott brought him in. I suppose that Beane is easier to scapegoat.
  17. If it were not for the boxes, I wouldn't have cared much at all about the game. If the Chiefs went for one instead of two on their last TD, I would have made a large amount of money. The boxes make the Super Bowl fun imo. Not the trite commercials nor the horrid halftime shows.
  18. Ran into a rainstorm Ducked into a bar door It was all night pouring, pouring rain But not a drop on me Test me, test me Why don't you arrest me? Throw me in the jail house Until the sun goes down Till it go down I had to move Really had to move That's why if you please I am on my bended knees Bertha don't you come around here anymore
  19. I don't disagree. The thing is, Father Time always wins in the end. Next season he won't be any faster, and injuries will not heal sooner. I don't know what his salary is but if he is not involved with Taylor Swift when next season starts, it might not even be a good investment for the Chiefs to keep him on the roster. If he is, different story. Btw I'm not making any definitive predictions here, just throwing thoughts around.
  20. I'm not so sure of this. He is getting older and seemingly slower.
  21. I have watched Jalen Hurts since his first play of his first game at Alabama. He is a good, at times VERY good quarterback. When you put him behind a great OL and give him terrific receivers, he is a winner. The Eagles won this game primarily due to the excellence of both the OL and the DL. The OL gave Hurts the time to find his deep and excellent receiving corps and utilize his running skills. When DeVonta Smith is your #2 receiver, you have one sick roster. On one of the tush push plays, Landon Dickerson was three yards in front of the first down marker. They made it look easy. Their DL was fast and also VERY strong. If Josh Allen played on the Eagles it would be all but impossible for them to lose a game to any team under any circumstances because Josh Allen is GREAT. The Bills need to model their team after that of the Eagles. The NFL Champion Chiefs couldn't do a damn thing against the Eagles OL and DL except get pushed around and knocked on their a$$es. The Bills should go into this draft and free agency thinking about what they watched on tv yesterday. Their priorities need to be adding strength and speed to the DL, depth to the OL, and of course fast receivers. This is how the Eagles won with Jalen Hurts at QB. I hope that McDermott is able to see the obvious and resist wasting a first round pick on a defensive back. End of rant.
  22. The 2008 draft was also shockingly bad. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2008_draft.htm
  23. Thanks, my mistake. I will edit it.
