Bill from NYC replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cornerback, but perhaps safety. -
I'll give a little bit I'll give a little bit of my life for you So give a little bit Oh, give a little bit of your time to me See the man with the lonely eyes Oh take his hand, you'll be surprised

People get ready, there's a train a-comin' You don't need no baggage, you just get on board All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin' Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord So, people get ready for the train to Jordan Picking up passengers coast to coast Faith is the key, open the doors and board 'em There's hope for all among those loved the most

Does Thurman Thomas Get His Due? (Offseason rehash topic)
Bill from NYC replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall
His career was cut short, but imo Gale Sayers was not less talented than Sanders. He was bigger and perhaps even faster. -

The linebacker that he flattened (Isaiah Robertson) was a great player. Campbell was a total superstar. I couldn't agree more. His offensive line was one of, if not the best ever. There were also great receivers that had to be accounted for. -

Campbell was also lightning fast as a young player. He ran somewhere around (perhaps slightly below) a 10 second 100 yard dash as a rookie. He was stronger and faster than Saquon Barkley. Of course this is jmo. -
Falling and spinning losing and winning keeping my head Watching for signals wearisome vigil was I mislead I remember you said That you don't want to forget me It doesn't matter which of our fantasy's fail Every tomorrow looking to borrow a piece of today Run a bit faster here comes the catcher making his play You had better not stay You will soon be surrounded It doesn't matter which of our fantasy's stay

Not enough people talk about Earl Campbell imo. His career was cut a bit short, but; in his prime he was as good as anybody. Jmo. -
Where is @BADOLBILZwhen you need him?

What's your ideal retirement location?
Bill from NYC replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
You are so right! My daughter went to college in Hanover, NH. I had recently retired and was offered a good job there, which I turned down. Well, from there she went to law school in Philly, and moved to VA for 10 years. She moved out to Long Island fairly recently and I am beyond thrilled to have her back. In the "old days," people didn't venture far from where we grew up. The exception was the "hip" kids who moved out to California in search of some sort of bliss. Now, kids frequently change jobs and move all over the place. Chasing them can go bad in a hurry. -
I used to get mad at my school (Now I can't complain) The teachers who taught me weren't cool (Now I can't complain) Holding me down Turning me 'round Filling me up with your rules I've got to admit it's getting better (Better) A little better all the time (It can't get no worse) I have to admit it's getting better (Better) It's getting better, since you've been mine

Were there ever years you were disinterested in the Bills?
Bill from NYC replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Never. The Bills and this board have been with me through great and bad events of my life. I appreciate both, whereas they have both been important to me. One moderator despised me, another dislikes me but tolerates me, and I appreciate this. What I have been able to learn is to be better at handling the horrible losses. I have even come to expect it, but thats ok. Tell me, am I the only poster who suspected that we would lose the 13 second game? I'm saying NO WAY! Things like the (overated) Stevie Johnson dropping the best pass of Fitz's career prepared me for horror stories. The only thing that still gets to me is the focus on the secondary, despite other more important needs. I'm even better with that because I know damn well it will happen again and again and its beyond my control. Many, many years ago (perhaps even 20 years), @SDS posted that he is a bigger fan of Bills Fans than the Bills. I never forgot this post and I agree with hm. To give up on the Bills would be to also give up on the friends I have made from this board and tailgated with, and I can't do it. GO BILLS!!!!!!!! OUR DAY WILL COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
It would be fixed for Taylor to win. She draws bigger crowds and the league and advertisers would make more money.

Long Island, NY is a wonderful place to live. It has beaches, fishing, golf, great food, highly rated schools, and great medical care. The crime rate is low in most parts. There is just so much good about Long Island but the taxes are just insane. The SALT changes will help to some degree but the taxes are REALLY way too high. I have been up to Williamsville, NY many times and I absolutely love it there. I could stand the cold but not all of that snow.
