This Alabama team was hard to watch in many games, and the problem was mostly the QB imo. In all honesty I'm surprised that they beat Georgia with Milroe at QB. I agree witjh you 100% about the schedule. The SEC is just STACKED with talented and deep teams. I'm not sure how Ole Miss lost three games. Did you see their DL? Jaxon Dart is a fine QB imo. I thought that they could be title contenders. South Carolina is also very good and Alabama was lucky to beat them. We will see how these ACC teams fare in the playoffs, but I do not expect much from them. It would appear that Alabama will improve next year but with the changes it won't be easy.

As a Crimson Tide Fan, I am not upset at the decision, although I don't necessarily agree with it. SMU looked pretty decent, but they play in a candy ass conference. Notre Dame cannot even boast of doing that. That said, Alabama was shaky due to having Milroe at quarterback. They lost three games so I don't blame the committee for making jealous haters around the country happy. While I will miss Alabama not competing in the playoffs, I'll be OK. I guess I will have to think back on Coach Saban winning SIX national titles at Alabama. Or the time Tua came in and sent the Bulldogs home weeping with the greatest play in the history of college football. Georgia Fans will never get over this and my heart bleeds for them. 😔Or does it? 😂 I don't blame you for your vitriolic comments about Alabama because as bad as you claim they were this season, they did manage to defeat Georgia yet again.

12/8/24 Game 14 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Rams post game Thread
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not young and have seen my share of football, but; I have never seen better QB play than what I saw from Josh Allen last night. Never mind the great runs, some of those passes between the defenders looked impossible to complete. The three TD passes and runs were a milestone, but they don't even begin to tell the whole story of the game that he played. Josh Allen makes his receivers look like Jerry Rice. The loss sucked but we were lucky to be in the game after giving up 44 points on the road. I have total confidence in this team for as long as Josh stays healthy. Bills fans really do deserve to have a great QB like Josh, this after decades of various degrees of suffering. -
An absolute disaster by the coaches at the end of this game

Seriously? I was never his biggest fan but that is quite the stretch. In fact, he has improved quite a bit this season. -

The title of this thread is a vey fair question. I am going to answer yes. I was one of his biggest critics. I am not going to list them, but I will not back down on my criticism of some of his moves, (especially in his first season), but; he deserves a lot of praise for moves like getting rid of Diggs and bringing in Cooper. Josh sure looked happy enough while wallowing around in the snow, and keeping him happy is HUGE! 👍 I am a big enough person to look at the facts and state that I underestimated McDermott. That said, I am a greedy Bills fan and I want more. He needs to lead this team to a finish that they are capable of. The way Josh is playing I am not afraid of any team. I think we can get there this year but we need Coach McDermott to keep things moving in the right direction, and I'm now thinking that there is a real possibility that he can. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nebraska’s downfall will be studied for generations
Bill from NYC replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in College Football
Maybe. Remember, Sark went through some serious personal problems. When he came to Alabama his salary was $35,000 per year. At Alabama, he needed to make 50K to have medical benefits for his family. Saban went in an got him the raise. As I'm sure you remember, when Kiffen was the OC at Bama, he accepted a head coaching job shortly before the championship game. Surprisingly, Saban told Kiffen to just get out and replaced him with Sark, who won a title the following season. Sark's play calling against an excellent Ohio State team was the best I ever saw in a college football game. He lost Davonta Smith (who had 212 yards in the first half iirc) and he didn't miss a beat. He was sending Najee Harris in motion every different way and nobody knew how to stop the Tide that night. Tbh, I am unsure how much harder it is to coach in the NFL than on a top college program, especially when you are facing another premier college program. People can point to Saban failing at Miami all they want, but; Saban wanted Drew Brees and was given Dante Culpepper. In any event, I of course don't know for sure what Sarkisian would do now in the NFL. What I do know that if I owned a team I would offer him a job (which he would surely turn down because I think that he makes more than 10 mil per season). -
what college football teams does everyone root for?

The great University of Alabama Crimson Tide. I have been a Tide Fan my entire life. It provided a nice contrast to being perennially disappointed and heart broken by the Bills. That said, the times they might be a changing! 👍🏈👍 -
I ain't got time to think about money Or what it can buy And I ain't got time to sit down and wonder What makes a birdie fly And I don't have the time to think about What makes a flower grow And I've never given a second thought To where the rivers flow (Too busy thinking about my baby) Oh, yeah And I ain't got time for nothing else

Maybe they will play for the national title.

It is not something that I would do, nor do I find it particularly funny. That said, I absolutely don't care.

All I know is something like a bird within her sang All I know she sang a little while and then flew on Tell me all that you know I'll show you Snow and rain If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why? Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passing by Laugh in the sunshine Sing, cry in the dark Fly through the night

I just can't help believing When she smiles up soft and gentle With a trace of misty morning And a promise of tomorrow in her eyes... And I just can't help believing When she's lying close beside me And my heart beats with the rhythm of her sigh... This time the girl is gonna stay This time the girl is gonna stay... For more than just a day

Do you remember The 21st night of September? Love was changin' the minds of pretenders While chasin' the clouds away Our hearts were ringin' In the key that our souls were singin' As we danced in the night, remember How the stars stole the night away

You know more about the team than I do, but their schedule was absolutely brutal. I have a feeling that they really might not be as bad as you think. Please, name me a team that could stand up to that schedule. They play Alabama next week and I don't know what the point spread will be, but I have a feeling it will be approx. 17 and I think this is far too high. Milroe ranges from great to frustratingly mediocre and I would not lay big points to Oklahoma. Jmo.

Who’s the best Left Tackle you have ever watched?
Bill from NYC replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
My choice is Orlando Pace in his prime. He was big, as strong as an ox, brutal, and very agile. He would open holes for Marshall Faulk that trucks could drive through. Erik Williams was the most dominant RT I ever saw. Bob Brown was also scary good but Williams was flat out great. Nobody was going to out muscle him, and he was also very agile for a RT. If he was on the Bills they are a different team, and there are not that many RTs who could make that much of a difference. And while we are talking about Tackles, when Leon Lett was healthy, he might have been the best DT I for one ever saw. -
This is wonderful news, and may God keep up the great work!
