Does anybody care about Alabama games?

Yeah, the SEC needs to toughen up and be more like the powerhouse ACC. -
Complimentary Football vs. Derogatory Football
Bill from NYC replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True but there really are exceptions wrt Saban. He compliments some of his players at post game conferences, but you are right; he doesn't get carried away. He did however shock me recently when he likened Tua to Drew Brees. He must really believe him to be great because I have never heard him talk like that about a player. -
Here is why I'm not panicking...

Good post!!! I agree, providing the Bills don't destroy their draft opportunity in 2019, which sadly is far from a forgone conclusion. -
Seriously, did you look at your screen name before posting this? I have seen this movie over and over. People have been blaming the Bills losses on coaches, assistants, and schemes. We all have our own coping mechanisms but the truth is, this team has little to no talent and almost none at all on offense. I am just hoping once again for a good, sensible draft and that Josh can stay healthy behind this high school level OL. PS: There WERE coaches who were bad beyond words. Jauron comes to mind. Daboll is a good football man but his job would be impossible for the best coaches of all time.

2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
Even though that would be a continuation of the usual idiocy, I get the feeling that this would mark the beginning of the end of the franchise. -
Tank losers, that record is part of history.

No doubt. Kyle Williams in round 5 was great beyond comprehension. And pure luck. Remember, he wasn't even the first DL they drafted. In fact, they traded up to get McCargo who was almost as bad as Williams is good. Count me as one who believes that the quality of a draft is determined a lot by the players a team passes on. We passed on stars to take Donte Whitner. -

Yes but he tried lol!!! In his first draft (2006), Jauron and Levy absolutely destroyed this team. After that draft I said that the team would be harmed for 5 years by their stupidity. It turned out that I fell way short on my prediction. -
This is the polar opposite of what is going on with Tua. I am now convinced that you are not watching these games.

Your screen name really is fantastic!

I totally agree and this makes me NOT want to trade him. A tone has been set since Levy was GM that when a player, whether or not he is good (Benjamin is adequate at best) wants to leave, the Bills readily accommodate them. This HAS to change in order for the franchise to take that next step. You see, I just don't care if Benjamin is happy or sad. Same with McCoy or virtually anyone on the team. I can only guess..... I think that the Raiders ate his signing bonus and Dallas can cut him at any time with no penalty. This would make the deal more attractive but I agree that a 1st was too steep for me, and I think that when healthy, Amari is a very good player.

Yes but we should be getting an earlier draft pick. Any top 5 corners out there?
-
Who was run out of town? IIRC, Whitner earned 36 million over 5 years while playing mediocre football at best for the Bills. He even had the nerve to hold out before he signed and had a domestic incident at around the same time. Yeah, Poor Donte! People are unhappy with the Josh Allen pick? Really? Compared to the Whitner selection, Josh Allen resembles getting Brady in the sixth round.

Do you give Florida a chance? They are improving but that's a tall order. I admit it.....I will be rooting for them.
-
I heard a stat that the team is averaging 38 points per game......in the 1st half!!! Tua has 25 TDs and 0 ints and he has not played a down in the 4th quarter. The team is averaging more than 9 yards per play. Out of 480 minutes of football, the team has only been losing for 70 seconds. It would seem that nobody could maintain stats like this but, like the Tide or hate them; something very special is happening down there.
-
UB has my full support. I hope that they continue to improve and turn into a national power. WNY truly does deserve some great football!!!!

On Sirius they are talking up Clemson. You constantly bring up the Crimson Tide schedule but it is, imo, ten times as hard as what Clemson faces.

Mississippi State is not a weak team. Fitzgerald is a very good college quarterback. I think that Miss. State could beat Purdue but that is jmo. Btw, this is NOT to say that they are better than Ohio State. OSU is stocked with talent and is a team I don't quite understand because I don't see enough of them. Tennessee will probably be good in a year or 2. Jeremy Pruitt is a very good defensive coach but he inherited a mess. They have had some recruiting problems. And btw Alabama can be beat. All they need are a few key injuries or even just a flat, bad game. What I will say about the Tide is that other teams gear up for big games. Saban has the team just play like they always do, or so it seems to me. -
