  1. Not sure why it has to be one or the other. We had enough to sign both. Unless we pretend to save the money for next year and then get into the same cycle again. (In other news, I really need how to multi-quote on TBD.)
  2. I certainly hope it all works out but the majority of the line is now discards and the only thing motivating two subpar guards gives us is one who sucks less than the other. I know the OL has to operate as a unit but with at least 2 of the three pieces being weak (assuming Hairston gets back soon), who will cover for who ? And we are not even having a conversation about depth, this is about the starting OL
  3. Not sure what to make of your comment. Are you saying I should be happy and ecstatic about the situation ? Right. We were in a great position and bringing a rookie QB to play behind a solid OL would really show us the true O potential.
  4. And we have come full circle. This is the same pair that Marrone was unhappy about and caused this thread. So it ends with Marrone exploring options and concluding this is the best battle possible at this time. Kinda depressing.
  5. Thanx, Astro. This is one post I really look forward to every day of TC
  6. If WoodS starts helping out on the OL, we are in deep doo-doo. Just IMHO of course :-P
  7. Better than the oblivious morons who say nothing when you hold the door open for them
  8. And from a team building exercise, the problem is exacerbated when we fail to retain said top picks who do pan out instead of flaming out (which has happened entirely too often with the Bills).
  9. Currently being held by Mario
  10. Sure. But they were not available. I have openly expressed unhappiness regarding not able to retain Levitre. While I am not saying Levitre is the top at his position. But if the difference between the Bills and Titans offer was $1 MM/yr (as is my recollection from the discussion during his neogotiation) it would have made sense for the Bills to overpay slightly and not create a hole. My frustration is that I don't want to reconcile this loss with 'we need to save money to pay Wood, CJ' and then when the time comes, be in the same position. If we lose one or both, will we again try to feel better by saying they needed too much money ? At some point, the Bills have to spend the money and not keep pushing this 'future' agenda which may or may not come to pass. We took a while getting to a position of strength on the OLine and would hate to see it slowly dismantled. I do not want to see the era of Dockery, Walker etc. Before this season, I was drooling at the thought of a Glenn-Levitre-Wood-Urbik-Hairston line to protect a young QB. Levitre is gone and Hairston is injured (hopefully not too serious).
  11. I second that. Blomkamp, Foster, Copely. Scifi, allegories of immigration/sweat shops ..... Also looking forward to Worlds End. The combo of Pegg, Frost and Wright is comedic gold.
  12. You are welcome. And Darien Lake was my first ever amusement park. Good memories, with my then GF..... {insert nostalgic smiley}
  13. You commenting on other people's biases ? I got a chuckle out of that one.
  14. Here is the link: http://mmqb.si.com/2...alo-bills-camp/ Largely complimentary of EJ and the offensive philosophy "Thrill-a-minute Bills".
  15. In that case, I wonder how he injured his hand last year.
  16. Are you being sarcastic ? What part of his quotes can be considered 'bullying' ?
  17. Is this how you got your brown nose, Jack ?
  18. What kinda Sweet Dreams did she wish you then ?
  19. Oh my list was by no means comprehensive. I am surprised you didn't add SDS to the polite list Certainly feels like that some days.
  20. While reading recent threads, I started thinking about the different personalities on this board. There are a few good guys who discuss patiently, put their thoughts down succinctly . Then there are others who are prone to call someone an idiot at the first opportunity and in general try to ram their opinion down others' throats. They are not wrong or dumb, but have a umm... different way of expressing themselves. Of the top of my head .... The polite: Cowgirl Fan NoSaint San Jose Bills Fan (except when provoked by WEO) Rude (disclaimer: I don't hate you or think you are bad people): DC Tom Chef Jim (when cut off by a bicyclist) John Cocktosten So, what are your opinions ?
  21. Wait.... you have been lurking here since you were 8?
  22. Welcome to the board ! Nice to see a well written post.
  23. Thanx. Much appreciated.
  24. For some reason, this info really made my day. Maybe it is 'just' a preseason game, maybe it is cos of RGIII and Luck but all I care about is that the Bills are getting a modicum of attention. Thanx.
  25. I dont want to hijack this thread any more than I already have but will make some points. First of all, I am fully on board with Anderson's release. What I am not okay with the disastrous efforts to sign the likes of Merriman and Anderson to fix the lack of pass rush. At the time they were signed, I gave the FO the benefit of doubt but in retrospect, it was misplaced confidence. Secondly, I don't want the next two years to roll along with an inability to retain key guys like Wood and CJ. The problem I have regarding the money aspect is that some are not retained due to money presumably saving money for more important signings in the future years. But these 'key' signings requiring big money don't happen consistently enough to build a winner. As always, I will hold out hope that this has changed with Whaley. As we stand right now, we are woefully thin at several positions and have unproven players at several also.
